Sometimes when you're driving down a road, a bug hits your windshield. It's ugly and unpleasant, but you just activate the wipers / cleaning fluid and it's gone in a few seconds. It's just part of driving down the road. You don't dwell on it, because that'd be silly. Bugs aren't worth the time.
You just discard their guts and keep on driving.

As Zommari turned, four blobs of what appeared to be balls of darkness met with his chest, stuck, and made a small high-pitched humming sound.
John saw that Zommari was looking straight at him and quickly retracted all of the darkness, creating a protective barrier around him.
(Equilibrium. With any luck, my darkness will cancel his magic out and be the only thing destroyed by his gaze...), John thought as he then began to fly around to Zommari's flank.

The dark wall shattered in a crucifix explosion. I grabbed the dark balls and crushed them in my hands.
"Damn you. You play hard, but know that I'm an angel. I defy logic using the power good gave me. I can create a campfire need be."
I charged a light beam from my finger and spun in a circle. There was equilibrium, but instead of bring it in check, it actually destroyed both the dark and the light, the dark cloud slowly dissipating.

"Damn you. You play hard, but know that I'm a Spartan. I defy odds using the power luck gave me. I can beat impossible odds if need be.", John emotionlessly echoed to Zommari via his communicator.
Just then, John disappeared into a Corridor of Darkness and reappeared behind Zommari with two of the same blobs of Darkness energy.
As soon as John emerged from the corridor, he threw the blobs and they each landed on one of Zommari's wings and began to emit a high-pitched noise.

I destroyed the blobs by quickly stretching my wings. Unfortunately, I lost him.
"You're getting nowhere. Those blobs are but a mere nuisance."
I created a small light barrier. It began deteriorating the darkness as it slowly expanded.
"I dare you to do something, green armored brat!"

Instead, John pulled out a spellcard and shouted.
"Divine Festival - Expanded Onbashira!", John declared as an N formed on the card.
All of a sudden, four giant Onibashira pillars measuring at 10 yards in diameter and 200 yards in length ripped through space at incredible speeds, straight towards Zommari.
