Regius Prison - Otori's cell

When Otori escaped she got really angry. The first thing she did was to bring down a bird from the sky and kill it.
She then laid it in the middle of a big circle she drew. Around it she laid materials decriping him and his state.
"Looks like he is still inexpirienced. Evn tough I may not be able to see him directly, you can't change air to make yourself invisible.
The result would at most be a dome of darkness."

She ten activated the circle. Suddenly all the birds in the area began searching for him. It wouldn't take long for them to find him.
When they did find him she would know immideatly.

Eric raised his head up a bit to get a good look at the owner of the voice. It was a nurse of Regius, it seemed. Yes, it had to be. The white robes, the red cross, and the fair hair fit for a maiden made this woman the ideal candidate for a nurse. Even the woman's expression was relaxing and fitting for a nurse. A small smile graced the merchant's lips at hearing her question. With a grunt of pain, he raised himself up on his arms to get a better look at the nurse.

"I feel like I skidded on some asphalt after playing in kerosene..." He shook his head. "I know you get this all the time, but... where exactly am I?"

((Whaddya know, I didn't respond. I swear I did...))

The nurse spoke to the merchant. "Why, you're in the greatest hospital in Regius. Well, I hope you feel better by tomorrow."

Then HM came in.

"Ah, commander HM!"

"Now now, no need to be overly formal with me. How is our guest doing?"

"He says he feels bad, but the way he stated it, and with the results of the test, there was no internal damage, though external damage is heavy."

"Oh, an easy fix. Although, it would be better if we had our speed magic user with us... It seems he's on vacation."

HM walked to the merchant. "Hey. What's your name?"

Eric was not able to properly gauge the new face that came into the room. It was obvious that this man was a commander for a guard unit of some kind, but he looked average, to say the least. The uniform was fitting for his position (whatever its colors or stripes), though. The merchant sighed and rubbed his bandages on his arm before wincing. Might as well get acquainted with the folks that got him out of dodge, he thought.

"Name's Eric Reynard. I'm a traveling merchant by trade." He raised an eyebrow. "And you?"

"Ah, good, you aren't frightened by authority. Makes it much more comfortable to talk. Well, I'm HM. What does it stand for? Hell Master. Why? Multiple reasons. I can be a helluva partier, opponent, annoyance, teacher, you name it. Either way, I just came in to ask some questions is all. Are you fit to answer them?"

HM sat in a chair nearby, putting his'lightning rods in a nearby table, not intending to use them.

What kind of name was 'Hell Master'? Hell had no master but the devil himself, and even then, mastering hell was like mastering fire. You don't control something that wild. But Eric shook his head, realizing he was digressing. To him, he thought of this character as an eccentric sort, one of many in the world. He was just in a position of power, and it seemed that he liked to let others know if those odd rods and speech was any indication.

"If I can talk, I can answer questions," Eric replied.

"Haha, I guess that's true..."

HM put his hand to his chin, wondering what to ask first and how to put it.

"Hmm... Well, first of all, do you have a power of any kind? I need to know this because, you know, explosion. Need to know if you did it or not, not that I think you did..."

"I'm just an ordinary traveling merchant, sir," Eric replied with a modest tone. "I reckon I survived because the pack on my back cushioned my impact. Had I snapped my neck, I wouldn't be sitting here discussing this with you. So, no, I ain't got no 'power'."

It seemed that people here in this land always had some superhuman power to rely on. Magic, super strength, dexterity, it was all the same. It made them forget how human they were, and in that case, it put them out of touch with others. Eric was a normal human being who only relied on his survival skills and charisma to get out of bad situations. He had no need for magic in his life, not even speed magic. It was all just so... boring compared to exploring, or even one on one melee fights.

"Maybe it's just luck."

Cavern | Inside the Circle of Life

During all the commotion Seki was able to do one last thing before Jason pulled the little time stopping trick to completely prevent her from moving. She had began launching her next attack which was simply to touch Jason’s arm, and she managed to make contact with it just before she was stopped. While Seki again had a chance to instantly cook him alive all she did at this point was engulf Jason’s body in the yellow flame which would cause his body to heat up and eventually his blood to boil if it went on long enough. This would of corse cause Jason to try and get away from her which would put Seki out of his range and re-enable her to move. Once she had regained mobility Seki would snap her fingers and cause all flames both around the training ground and inside Jason to stop burning and slowly fade out.
“Geez it’s hard fighting while keeping the circle of life burning. You’re lucky I’m such a good friend or I might not have helped you.” Seki proudly boasted as she gave Jason a somewhat goofy grin.

Cavern | Inside the Circle of Life

Jason could feel the burning sensation crawling up his arm. It was as if Seki was using a similar method to the one Jason used when he smelted Titanium.

Ah, f*ck! F*ck! F*ck! F*ck! F*ck! F******CK!!!!, Jason yelled as the pain traveled up to his shoulder.

(Sh*t! I've got to stop the burning! I could try and get out of her range, but she'll get out of mine and attack me!)

Jason released some of his slowing effect on Seki and focused on himself. Seki was able to move, but it was only at an incredibly slow speed. Jason began to slow down the vibrations in his body and around him, lowering the temperature in the affected area. Jason fell to his knees and began to breather heavily, trying to not only hold Seki, but also trying to keep his body's heat under control. The area inside Jason's range was starting to get very cold. Frost was starting to form all over Jason as he started to gain control over his body's heat.

As this was going on, Kris entered the flame runes, but Jason was too focused on his task to notice her. He could barely even hear Seki talking to him. He was just focused on maintaining his magic. The strain was getting to be too much, but Jason still held on to the stopping field and his body temperature.
