'Twas a combo attack from the video and searching for a Gensokyo map that led me here.
And then I got a minecraft account.
EDIT: Waitaminute! I just remembered the real reason! I came here when I was searching for information on ZUN's coming to America, and I thought this place was pretty cool.

Well, I was originally on Touhoucraft, and it had fallen to shambles during the long "Temp Map" period, and well, things got quite....hostile. I wanted to find another Touhou Minecraft server to build on and chat, and then I found that very long video. It looked much better, and like a safe haven from the madness and civil war of the other server. So here I am.
Sometimes when you're driving down a road, a bug hits your windshield. It's ugly and unpleasant, but you just activate the wipers / cleaning fluid and it's gone in a few seconds. It's just part of driving down the road. You don't dwell on it, because that'd be silly. Bugs aren't worth the time.
You just discard their guts and keep on driving.

Touhoucraft's got a lot of great things about it but probably my biggest gripe is the anarchy map that comes up every time mc updates. Though I like anarchyaps for what they are, I just don't feel it fits well with the kinds of communities our servers generate.

The anarchy map was what I was talking about. A huge war happened. (This was back during the bat and witch update). It took them a hell of a long time to get the regular map back on, so, I left.

I looked up the Scarlet Devil Mansion on youtube out of curiosity. After watching one of the search results I found the thumbnail for the old Gensokyo tour.
The way these youkai are swarming, one might think we weren't welcome!

Eh one of my friends on Chatango actually told me about the server when THC went down. If i'm not mistaken i was on the first or second day it went public.

Well, heres th story. I love listening to touhou soundtrack. I never actually played any of the games, cause i never actually leard how to english patch em (so i can install and create god knows how many mods but i cant put in a simple english patch.) so i actually looked into it, read the life of a maid series (http://donmai.us/pools/678) watched the mmds on youtube, an wuddya know, i became a half fan, half soundtrack freak. So i wuz goin on with mah biz, an youtube recommended a vid called minecraft gensokyo by remi. I watched, an i thought it was interesting. I downloaded th map an thought kewl. I kept playin. I got board, so i looked into th server, made a profile, and viola! Here i am, a junior member of the yukkuricraft team!
