"Ah...ok" Lyrica was now curious. "Well that'll be something else to find out about Diggy and Mystia..." then, under her breath she added, "...along with why Mystia's feathers are of a different hue..." Lyrica decided to change the subject. "Right then, what's on the menu tonight?"

Sherry was tempted to decline all of the items that were given to her, but then she realized that they were necessary for her task. DSO gave her her badge, her gun, and her stunstick for use on her trip to Edonia, so was this really so different? No, not at all. The woman marveled at the PokeDex and PokeNav for a moment. A handheld encyclopedia would be helpful during training, and this PDA would become a new friend to the past-agent. If it did all that it said it did, then getting to Dewford would be a breeze.

She tugged on the backpack, pleased that it didn't ruin her fannypack. Mac didn't look too impressed, but more potions meant more chances to be reckless and no have to deal with the consequences.

"Thank you so much for your help. I promise I'll deliver those items to Chiu, whoever they may be." Sherry couldn't help herself from offering a quick salute. It was habitual. "I'll leave the PokeMobile behind for your people. I don't think I'll be able to drive it to Dewford, and besides, you need it for more testing. Thanks once again."

With a smile, the young woman turned around and left the researchers to their own devices once again. Mac toddled behind her with that childish, impish look in his eyes, just looking like he wanted to spur some trouble. Noticing, Sherry giggled and walked out of the building, soon moving into Route 116 to train a little before it really was too late in the day.

Walking towards the pokemon center, the fox relaxed and heard the cityīs nightlife, aside from the mining company, there were a few recreation areas for the civilians

"For what I know, the gym leader has rock based pokemon, Dia would have an intense hard time for that, but Aegis might pull it off with his strength Renamon said to the spartan as they were getting closer to the pokemon center

John didn't turn his head or even seem to acknowledge Renamon's presence, except for him speaking to her. He wasn't trying to be cold, he was just focused on getting to the Pokemon Center, eating, and sleeping.

"Tomorrow, we need to find water Pokemon. It will give us an advantage on the field.", John calmly said to Renamon.

"It doesn't matter to me.", John said in his usual, calm tone.

John's mind was wandering elsewhere. He was making plans for tomorrow, about how they would get their hands on a water Pokemon. If they could get a water pokemon, then the gym battles would be a breeze. The only problem was trying to find a place where the water pokemon would reside. After getting a water pokemon and beating the gym leader, they would then be able to move on to the next town and repeat the process.

Despite the night sky covering the ground with darkness, the road was bustling with trainers and nighttime strollers. Food carts adorned the street occasionally, stretching all the way to the Verdanturf tunnel. Trainers were seen often battling others or letting their Pokemon rest after a fight. Lanterns dotting the edges kept the road brightly lit.

"Yes!" A mountaineer with stubby beard bellowed in triumph as a girl wearing a blue skirt ran away in dismay. "5 wins in a row! Who can stop me now?"

"If you're at a Thai Restaurant, you have to try Tom Yam Goong!" Crystal eagerly announced as a waiter approached the three.

"What would you ladies like to order today?" The handsome Asian waiter asked.

"I'll take a small Tom Yam Goong," Crystal ordered. "...and Pad Thai."

"A medium Massaman Curry." Leaf added. "No MSG, but extra spicy. Also a cup of Sprite, please."

Chung was walking around aimlessly when he heard Yuuka call out to him. "Oh hey... I'm not doing much. Just looking for a place to stay for the night. I kind of... don't have a good place to stay for the night." He said quite nervously as he rubbed the back of his head. "What are you doing out this late?"

Sherry wasn't tempted to fight the mountaineer at all. She was more interested in looking about and exploring. If she was going to be a good trainer, she needed to figure out the best places to fight or look for pokemon. Tall grass seemed to be a good habitat for pokemon, as did the forest, but tall grass was safer for the trainer. Sherry craned her neck for a berry tree, as she had promised Mac that she would get him something to munch on, but to her dismay, she couldn't find one that was easily reached. There were a few trees in the distance, but they were on a rocky ledge that neither of them could climb.

The little Machop, impatient and eager to burn off some energy, jogged towards the commotion in the distance and looked after the schoolgirl in the blue skirt. He figured out where she came from and wandered into the mountaineer's sight. With the way the man was bellowing, it seemed like he had something to show for himself. Sherry noticed Mac had wandered off and moved to catch up with him. When she met up with him again, she noticed the mountaineer's belt had pokeballs on it. Plus, Mac wasn't looking like he wanted to back down from an impending fight.

Sighing, the young woman raised her hand.

"I think my Machop wants to battle with you," she said. She straightened up and placed her hands on her hips. "What do you say? Want to go a round?"

As she thought about it, battling with an experienced trainer would be a good learning experience.

"Well aren't you a little toughie!" The hiker guffawed as he displayed his belt buckle lavished with three Pokeballs hanging by a magnetic hook. "But can you handle my rocky triple showdown? I accept your challenge!"

Soon, excited crowd swarmed around the hiker named Andrew and Sherry. Some were curious, wondering whether the new challenger can defeat the proclaimed Champion of Route 116. Most of the crowd, however, was hoping for hiker Andrew to take the victory like he has always done. Hiker Andrew stretched his arms out for a big wind-up: a completely unnecessary process for a battle, grabbed the first Pokeball from his belt, and yelled: "Go, Geodude!"

A chunk of rock with determined face appeared, flexing its rocky arms as if the rocks were actually muscles.

Sinnoh Region - Oreburgh City - 8:20 PM

After a while, John eventually made his way into Renamon and his assigned room and closed the door. It was luxurious, or at least to John it was. It was a fairly large room with a simple bed in the corner, next to the window, a chair with a writing desk against the left wall, a nightstand with a lamp next to the bed, and a window on the far wall, giving the occupant a view of Oreburgh City. On the wall opposite to the bed was an entertainment center with a television. On the right wall was a door that led to the restroom. John paid little attention to his surroundings at this point. He just focused on eating and preparing for tomorrow.

The first thing John did as he entered the room was place the bag full of items on the writing desk and disengaged his energy shields. Once that was done, John pulled the emergency lever on his helmet and waited as the hissing of decompression subsided. He then proceeded to remove his helmet and laid it on the writing desk, next to the bag of items. John let out a faint sigh as he then entered the restroom and turned on the lights.

The bathroom was white and plain, just like any other restroom John had seen. There was a sink with a mirror above it, a bathtub with a shower head, and a toilet, all of the requirements needed for it to be considered a restroom. Truth be told, John was tired. John hadn't slept ever since he arrived in this strange world, due to the pokemon that would appear in the wild at night. To temporarily remedy his need for sleep, John walked over to the sink, turned it on, and cupped his armored hands beneath the cold, running water. Once he collected enough water in his hands, he then raised it to his face and wet it. The cold water gave John the energy he needed, easing his grogginess and putting him at ease.

John looked up at himself in the mirror as the water dripped off his face. It had been a long time since John had seen himself in a mirror. He had almost forgotten what he looked like. John gazed at all the scars on his face, each one telling a story. John had gotten most of them when he was only a child, back when he didn't have his armor and when he went through his training. It was brutal, inhumane even, but John wasn't bothered by it. The training prepared him for all he had gone through; Insurrectionists, The Covenant, The Flood, and even the Prometheans. It all seemed so far away now, all of the things he had gone through. His scars were a testament to his life and experiences.

After spending a few minutes looking at himself in the mirror, reminiscing about the past, John walked away from the sink, turned out the lights, and exited the restroom.

As John left to their room, Renamon went outside towards the closest woods. Taking out her pokeball, the fox released her combee "Ok Dia, the first gym is a rock one so we have some disadvantage, but that doesnīt mean we will lose instantly"

"Well, whatps your plan? my attacks arenīt so strong either" Diana said rather defeated

"You are right, but using attacks with good tactics is effective and we got something of advantage, your speed" Renamon pointed out and continued "Those rock types are strong and have good speed too so we will train your abilities, what do you think?"

The combee thought about it and then nodded "Ok, I want to show everyone im a strong pokemon even though Im a bee, letīs do it!" she said with fire on her soul

Both the fox and bee started training while shooting gust attacks to a rather heavy rock making it fly and catch it with another gust attack and so on.

Sherry examined the small hunk of rock in front of her. While she knew just exactly what the pokemon was, she had a desire to use her new Pokedex on it. She flipped open the red casing and pointed the device at the pokemon, finding that the mere action of doing so made the device spur to life. On the screen appeared the pokemon and general stats, including trivia, history, and the creature's cry. A Geodude, a common rock-type pokemon.

The trainer and pokemon had both encountered a Geodude before when Sherry took the Rustboro gym challenge. They had barely scraped by on that challenge and earned themselves a badge to boot. Now would be different, the agent thought to herself. I've got a better chance now. She took a step back and noticed the onlookers and became a little self-conscious. She really hoped people wouldn't remember her for wearing boots that weren't her size.

"Alright, you asked for it Mac," Sherry said to her Machop. She scratched her head and shot off an attack she believed would do some good here. "Close that distance with a tackle!"

Mac nodded and grinned before leaping forward to charge into the Geodude with a firm shoulder tackle.
