Devon Corp. Fairgrounds, Rustboro City - (@Wriggle)

Juri was intrigued by the sounds of explosions. She remembered a much simpler time where she used to fear the loud booms from explosions. They used to shake her and make her run for cover, but her adoptive parents always soothed her nerves and helped her through the finales of celebrations. Her parents weren't here for these explosions, but Juri wasn't frightened anymore. Now... Now she couldn't help but marvel at the destruction.

She wanted to stay and observe the torment she caused, but Juri had finished her mission. All that was required of her was to disrupt the ceremony, and she did just that. It was time to leave. Maxie would have to wait, especially when Juri was under-equipped with a low-level Pokemon and outnumbered. The Korean tugged her Purloin along with her as she slimmed away from the fairgrounds and back to the main part of Rustboro.

    Entertainment was in order....

      Devon Corp. - Rustboro City

"Everyone alright?" Maxie called out to everyone, probably worried more about the black-haired girl than anyone else, but still anxious to know if the rest are alright or not.

      "I'm okay!"

"I'm hit but my backpack saved me."

      "Same here."

"Good. But-" Maxie looked around. There was the tall black man with an Elekid, the hiker, and the panicking woman, but where was that black-haired girl? The last time he saw her, she was avoiding the countless debris like it was some shoot-em-up game. Then she seemingly disappeared as the chaos continued. Besides, why was Maxie so obsessed with making sure this black-haired girl was safe?

"Caitlyn, where is she?" Maxie, almost hyperventilating, leaped over the fallen concrete debris, leaving the fairgrounds and searching for the girl among the curious crowd of onlookers and incoming Pokemon police force. "Caitlyn... where did you wonder off to this time...?"

      Rustboro City

Juri's phone began ringing as soon as she exited the fairground into the downtown. The sound itself wasn't audible due to the sirens of the Pokemon police cars, cacophony of the worries of the muttering trainers, and other general city noises, but as soon as Juri steps into the quieter side of the city, she will be able to hear the phone ringing.

Meanwhile, the black-haired girl, Caitlyn, was looking around the crowd until she saw the familiar brown hair tied in two bangs resembling horns. She silently snuck through the large crowd, following Juri.

Only those with a sick sense of humor would ever derive pleasure from the suffering of others. Juri was one of those people, and she enjoyed seeing everyone get so worked up over a bit of chaos. She hid in plain sight and observed as police, rangers and other service personnel rushed over to Devon Corp. They probably wouldn't be able to save anyone who was seriously injured. After all, they couldn't save Juri all those years ago with a pat on the back and a bold-faced lie.

"Don't worry everyone," Juri whispered to herself, her tone sarcastic. "Everything's going to be alright."

She noticed her Purloin hadn't uttered a sound since the explosions, not that Juri cared. Perhaps the purple cat had grown a conscience. That wouldn't be necessary or helpful for any future missions. Regardless, as long as the cat followed orders, Juri couldn't care less if Ripley had qualms about the work. Juri reached into her pocket and fished out her flip phone after making sure she wasn't being tailed by police.

While it seemed that no authority was after her just yet, Juri had overlooked the strange, black-haired girl from earlier. She was unaware that she was being followed as she consulted her phone.

"My accomplice told me that you have succeeded in the job," the man beyond the phone, Domino began with a concerned yet satisfied tone. The Charmeleon next to him growled, foaming fire at his mouth. "but have made some... unnecessary casualties."

"No matter. You have done well. Now get out of there before the 5-0s. Your way out will be prepared near Route 115."

Unnecessary casualties? Juri furrowed her brow at Domino's tone and the way he worded his concern. With all due respect, just what the hell did he expect from a dozen explosives going off in a congested area? Some minor cuts and fainting? The world wasn't some ten-year old's wonderland filled with cherrydrops and sunshine. Life was hard here, and there were people out there who enjoyed making even the most tranquil cities a living hell. Not to mention it was Juri's job to cause some destruction, so she had to crack a few heads to get it done.

Scoffing, Juri shook her head and listened to Domino lay out her escape to the north. She was certain that she hadn't been followed by the authorities, let alone anyone who was curious about her. There were other things to worry about than a conspicuous woman with a Purloin and a cruel smile on her lips. She wanted to stay a little longer and watch all the anguish and heartbreak around her, but orders were orders. However, she wouldn't let Domino off that easily.

The sadist licked her lips and spoke into her phone.

"Hmm... You can't make an omelette without cracking a few eggs. Add in a few spices, some gratuitous injuries and salty tears and you'll have something you can really sink your teeth into. It's quite tasty, actually." Juri started to make her way north with a content, if not complacent, saunter. "Maxie was there. I take it that's why I was ordered to crash the party."

"Very well. I trust that everything went smoothly." Domino chuckled and shook his head before looking out the window. His grunts were still working hard for Team Magma's good. Juri was just a small speck of dust in his, and ultimately Team Magma's, motives. "Yes. It is partially because of Maxie. He betrayed Team Magma, and he is the enemy to our team. He mus be taken down, sooner or later-"

"Threat level, classification changed to Medium. Commencing Pokemon assault."

While Juri was busy talking to Domino about escaping the city, the black-haired girl from the fairgrounds and the bench from before cornered Juri, her outstretched hand holding a Pokeball. The girl's voice was a bit more metallic than other humans, and her eyes sparked on and off as her Pokeball released a Pokemon: an orange-furred chimpanzee Pokemon with flame growing off of his tail. Chimchar.

              Chimchar Lv: 4

"Juri, what's going on?" Domino asked Juri, but he knows what happened. Juri was found, either by a civilian vigilante or a police force. "Juri, get out of there. We can't afford to have you captured."

Rustboro City, Heading North - ((@Colonel Chrome von Wrigglebottom))

A small speck of dust was just that. However, the tiniest, most insignificant speck of dust could still drive a man insane if it eluded his hand. Juri had no idea what Domino thought of her, but she figured he and she weren't best buddies for life. She, unfortunately, could not listen more to the man's reasons for the attack as a strange metallic voice cut through the air. Juri heard it over all other sounds, even in the congested streets of Rustboro.

Juri turned to look at the black-haired girl from before and noticed she had a pokemon at her side, a Chimchar. Those were pretty rare here, but then again, most 'starter pokemon' were rare. The girl was looking for a battle, or an assault, as she put it. If it were any other time, Juri would have obliged her and sent out her Purloin, but both the cat and the situation wanted nothing to do with Juri. Ripley turned her nose up at the prospect of battling for a trainer she didn't like, and Juri, robbed of her support, wasn't about to throw her escape away for something as silly as honor.

So, Juri lowered her phone and texted a quick "TTYL" to Domino before glaring at the girl.

"Sorry sweetie, no time to play," Juri murmured before she made a break for the north...

"Target fleeing. Initiating Combat Sequence." The black-haired girl pointed her finger at Juri, and the Chimchar chased, whimsically running after Juri and her Purrloin as the black haired girl followed suit through the crowd and the city.

The north side of the city was bit more run-down than the southern side, with trash cans, abandoned construction sites, and other shady places, giving Juri plenty of places to run around, as long as she doesn't encounter any dead ends to this messier side of the city. The black-haired girl ran as fast as any other girls her age, but she didn't seem to tire at all. What is she, Juri may wonder, but she doesn't have time to ponder that when she is being chased by an unknown assailant.

Okuu swiftly got her bearings in order. "Gah, head's spinning."

"Oooohh is it~?" the Fletching responded with an almost sing-song voice.

"Yeah, and I'll send your head spinning if you don't stop it." Okuu threatened, and the Fletching simply hovered above her, silently flapping it's wings.

"Enough you two." Koishi intervened, turning towards the Fletching. "You seem bored. Why not join us?"

"Join you? What, on some journey or something?" The Fletchling asked.

Koishi pondered for a swift moment. "Yeah, something like that. Going to see all the things the surface has to offer."

The Fletchling was a bit confused on the part about the surface, but to journey all around with competent looking people? It seemed like a good deal.

"Okay, i'll bite. I'll join you for a while. Name's Mokou, by the way." it replied.

"Okay, Mokou. Nice to meet you. I'm Koishi, and this is Okuu."

The three talked for a bit, and then moved on, off towards Oldale Town.

Sometimes when you're driving down a road, a bug hits your windshield. It's ugly and unpleasant, but you just activate the wipers / cleaning fluid and it's gone in a few seconds. It's just part of driving down the road. You don't dwell on it, because that'd be silly. Bugs aren't worth the time.

You just discard their guts and keep on driving.

Juri didn't like running away, but she had to do what she had to do. She and her Purloin darted about through crowded city streets before entering a construction site in the hopes of shaking off this strange girl and her matchstick monkey. While she didn't want to draw too much attention to herself, Juri knew that she had to get this girl off her tail. Trashcans were knocked over and cardboard boxes were smashed about to delay the girl's pursuit. It seemed that all they were doing was making it slightly inconvenient for the girl, much to Juri's chagrin.

"She still there?" Juri puffed to her cat before glancing over her shoulder.

"Yes, and so is her Pokemon," Ripley yowled as she maneuvered about the construction site.

Juri turned a corner and cursed under her breath. She had thought this was going to be an easy job!

"Target has escaped the vision camera." The strange girl said to herself as she too turned the corner to find that Juri was not there. "Continue searching, Chimchar. Halfmile radar."

"Mr. Maxie! Care to give an explanation as to what happened?" A news reporter ceased Maxie frantically searching in the crowd. He had a cameraman with him, so Maxie couldn't get mad. He instead decided to play it cool. Can't let the crowd fall into mass panic.

"It's alright. You all can relax. The authorities are under investigation of this issue." Maxie calmly explained to the reporter. The assistant next to him began jotting down notes while the cameraman continued filming. "We suspect that the criminal used Pokemon to self-destruct and damage the company reputation."

"Were there any casualties?" The reporter asked, to which Maxie nodded and covered his eyes. The assistant continued jotting down the notes. "I... I am sorry for those losses... but where are you going, sir?"

"I need to find someone who ran off. I need to make sure she is safe." Maxie looked around constantly, growing uneasy.

"Who is this person?" The reporter's assistant questioned.

                        "Caitlyn. My daughter."

                        Birch's Lab - Littleroot Town

Professor Birch's laboratory contained a large room reserved for Pokemon inside eggs to hatch, grow, and gain enough experience to be qualified as starter Pokemon. People entering the incubator have to be sterilized under steam to kill off all the bacteria that could potentially harm the young Pokemon inside. Inside the incubator itself is very warm and comfortable, perfectly suitable for young Pokemon to grow and play around in. There were many eggs and young Pokemon in the incubator, and the assistant grabbed the single Treeko.

"Here you go, as you requested, a Treeko for you." The assistant handed the Treeko to Sela. The Treeko, noticing Sela, waved at his new trainer with his tiny paws.

For the strange black-haired girl and her Pokemon, the alley they may or may not have overlooked was not very interesting at a glance. It was just a few dumpsters, some trash and not much else. However, after a minute or so of inaction, an unassuming cardboard box was lifted up. Underneath it was Juri Han herself and her Purloin, two criminals who hid in a cardboard box. It was the oldest trick in the book, but it worked.

"Well shit, let's get out of here before she wises up," Juri grumbled.

The two looked to each other, feline to female, before turning their sights back to the north. The coast was clear for the moment. Without wasting another minute, the two got up and went back to the Main Street to head towards their escape route.

                            Route 115

At the end of the accessible part of route 115 rested a red helicopter, sitting on a patch of grass waiting to pick up the agent that has done her duty. The Team Magma logo was barely visible, so no one looking up would notice that the helicopter is carrying people that commit to evil acts. The designated pilots carried two to three flying Pokemon, usually Zubat-line Pokemons, Murkrows, and occasional Skarmories, to make sure no Sky Trainers meddled in their way.

"Welcome back, Juri." Inside the helicopter came a familiar voice. It was Cipher, a fellow Team Magma grunt who taught Juri all the tools of the trade as a mentor when Juri first joined Team Magma. One of the most elite grunts, it is most likely that he will be promoted to Admin level soon enough. "Hop on."

                              Route 115

Juri was relieved that she didn't get harassed or molested by the wild pokemon on the route as she walked through it. Most likely they all were scared off by the explosions happening at the Devon Corp., or maybe they just didn't want to tangle with the woman. Mutual respect right there: don't bother me and I won't bother you, Juri thought. If the woman had more time on her hands, she would have slowed her pace down to a gentle stroll and hit the beach, or at the very least try to make amends with her pokemon. But to hell with that for now.

The helicopter wasn't that inconspicuous with the red color scheme and noise it made. Using it, let alone flying it through the air above Rustboro, would without a doubt draw some attention. However, the helicopter could blend in perfectly amongst other rescue helicopters that may come to the city, so who would notice a chopper that didn't belong? Juri figured no-one would give a damn either way, given the nature of humans. Pokemon were another matter, as was... Well, whatever that strange girl was.

Juri heard a familiar voice and stopped near the sidedoor to the helicopter. Now there was someone she hadn't heard from in a while: Cipher. She didn't know too much about him, and she didn't have any desire to get to know him. Despite this and Juri's cynical approach to other people, she was on friendly terms with Cipher. Chalk it up as the cruel woman giving some respect where it was due.

After trying to help her Purloin into the helicopter, an attempt that ended in a cold shoulder and a hiss of disapproval, Juri and Ripley entered the helicopter and looked out over the grassy fields.

"That wasn't much fun," Juri complained as she looked out at Rustboro.

Cipher chuckled as the helicopter began, lifting off into the Hoenn skies. Cipher had that slight flavor in his voice that made people believe in what he was saying. In other words, he is manipulative, just like Juri, Domino, and countless other villains that have graced the Pokemon world. "Not all missions are fun. There are odd jobs that you need to climb through the ranks."

On the ground, the black-haired girl and her Chimchar chased after Juri only to find that she was long gone in a helicopter. The playful Chimchar began rolling on the grass field, happy to smell the nature, while the black-haired girl stared at the helicopter... or through it to be exact.

"Target recognition complete. Terminating combat sequence. Classification revised..." The black-haired girl said to herself in that same metallic voice. "to 'Possible Ally.'"

Team Magma HQ - Mt. Chimney

The helicopter soon arrived to the mountainside of Mt. Chimney, a resting volcano that was said, in legends, to have been the birthplace of Groudon the land Pokemon. Now, Mt. Chimney is a popular tourist spot and home of Team Magma's headquarters.

                                "Here we are."

Cipher hopped out of the helicopter that has landed on the landing zone, obscured from the public by the harsh mountain range stretching from the north of Rustboro all the way to Lilycove City. "I suppose you have to report to Domino about the mission, right?"
