I always thought Kaguya and Mokou were somewhat friendly rivals at this point. I remember one thing I read once is that the feeling at the moment of death is 400 times more pleasureable than sex. When you think about it that way, they may be killing each other for more than one reason.
Sometimes when you're driving down a road, a bug hits your windshield. It's ugly and unpleasant, but you just activate the wipers / cleaning fluid and it's gone in a few seconds. It's just part of driving down the road. You don't dwell on it, because that'd be silly. Bugs aren't worth the time.
You just discard their guts and keep on driving.

It's said that they simply fight to pass the time.
Mokou does it partly for revenge, but mostly to kill time.
As for that last bit, yea, you only have to deal with the absolute pain of getting beaten/burned to death first.:p

Not if it's an instant death.
