John saw Samus's arm cannon change shape, then spark with energy.
Sensing an impending fight, John began to look up Samus on his HUD.
(Okay. Her main method of protection is energy shields, but her armor is weak to damage. Her current weapon is the Wave Beam, capable of shooting electrically charged blasts. I'll have to dodge that, if it hits me enough times, then my shields will go out. She's got an Ice Beam, Plasma Beam, Phazon Beam, Power Beam, Light Beam, Dark Beam, Rockets, Super Rockets, Morph Ball Bombs, and Power Bombs. She has multiple visors, so hiding and ambushing are probably not options. Her agility rivals mine, but she's not as strong. I'll have to lower her shields with energy attacks, then I'll be fine.)
"I'm not planning on killing him, just repelling him. As for your weapon, I won't shoot unless you give me a reason to.", John said to Samus.
John was ready if she decided to shoot at him.

Sometimes when you're driving down a road, a bug hits your windshield. It's ugly and unpleasant, but you just activate the wipers / cleaning fluid and it's gone in a few seconds. It's just part of driving down the road. You don't dwell on it, because that'd be silly. Bugs aren't worth the time.
You just discard their guts and keep on driving.

Not only that, he kidnapped Hank and nearly killed Sariel. I'm not really mad at you, but I do want to kill him.", John said to the Higher Power, while keeping his attention on Samus.

"If you want, I actually have a couple of ideas to get rid of him. I also might have a good way to lure him out of hiding.", John said to the Higher Power.

"Very well. I had to find a quick-fix, so I rerouted power to other circuits, distributing the power so that I wouldn't blow out others. I could fix it with magic, but it would take 24 hours for it to charge back up.", John said to Samus.

After hearing this, John slightly tilted his head to the side.
"I'll have you know that I'm not completely defenseless and incompetent. I appreciate the concern, but you wouldn't have better chances of survival if you fought him alone. Even then, he said that he was on our side. Now, if it turns out to be the bad Higher Power, then I'll get the emerald out of here and help you repel him, but that's not the case.", John said to Samus.
