    Washington D.C - Palutena's Apartment

Pit who was still unaware of the conversation going on between Palutena and Julius, smiled as he quickly to the vase and poured himself another bowl of soup. "Man I wish I can have soup like this every day! I mean this is just delicious!" Pit replied as he began consuming another bowl. Clearly by his tone of voice, his expression, and the ferocity of which he is eating the soup shows that he truly does like it. Pit was still in the middle of his second bowl of soup when he turned back to Midna to ask her a question.

"So uh... what goes into this soup anyways? Do you know?"

"Midna would have been impressed by the ferocity of Pitīs hunger, but she was used to it thanks to the ordonian boy who would eat or drink anything to survive ("and some of those potions didnīt looke drinkable at all, he surely even drank a Blue Chu or something similar") she thought and then smiled "Well it has reek fish, goat cheese and pumpkin, those are the ingredients I know of, but it has a special ingredient that the chef would never tell us, that is what makes this soup special." she explained while sitting on a chair and flexed her arms to relax.

Pit just stared at Midna then the bowl of soup as he got an almost nervous look on his face as he heard of the ingredients that went into it... or at least some of them. It was obvious that he didn't seem quite fond of this 'Reek Fish' or the fact that goat cheese and pumpkin went into it, and for a moment he thought about pushing the soup bowl away from him. However after a minute of thinking he just shrugged his shoulders as he began eating the soup again. After all the soup does taste good despite what he found out the stuff that goes into it.

Meanwhile if one were to glance over at the living room that is magically sealed off, Julius and Palutena were still talking. Though the look on Palutena's face showed a bit of... worry as she also looked like she was pondering something before speaking something that cannot be heard unless you were in the barrier. Julius could also be seen nodding, signifying that Palutena did ask something... important, but what? That was when they both shook hands as the barrier vanished. With their conversation done they both sat down at the table in the dining room, with both of them looking like they didn't talk at all.

Palutena then took her bowl of soup and took one small sip before turning to Midna. "Sorry it took so long. Anyways this soup is pretty good. I'm now positive that this Yeto guy is an excellent cook." Palutena replied as she smiled warmly at Midna before going back eating her soup.

There was that feeling again, Midna could sense that there was something wrong and could see it in the eyes of the goddess, but again, it wasnīt her moment to ask about it, instead she let them relax for the present time "You would be surprised if you see him, while he is rather.. brusque, he is a good man and husband to his wife, and this is just one of the many things he has prepared" she spoke smiling. Yeto had a great diversity of meals that, despite the odd combinations of his ingredients, the meals were in fact tasty and had the perfect feeling of being both full, but not feeling bad. It was perfectly balanced.

"By the way Julius, did you managed to deal with that nuisance you had to face?" the twili smirked at the Belmont

"This Yeto does sound like a nice man. I would love to meet him one day. I'm sure the praise coming from a Goddess would surprise him now wouldn't it?" Palutena replied as she had surprisingly quickly finished her bowl of soup. With that she had stood up and walked to the sink to rinse out the now empty bowl before going over to the stove to begin getting things ready. With a snap of her fingers pots, pans, various vegetables and ingredients, and a cookbook manifested and floated in the air around her as she began working on getting tonight's dinner truly started.

Meanwhile as Julius was politely and quietly resting at the table he heard Midna ask him a question about the presence they detected earlier. Upon being asked that Julius just frowned slightly as he shook his head.

"I'm afraid not. To be honest I saw nothing out of the ordinary. But if it shows up again you should know that I'll be down there within a moment's notice." Julius said as he had taken off a peculiar leather whip that was coiled up nicely from his belt and placed it on the table. It's a surprise that no one really noticed it. However the power only seemed to radiate from the whip when he held it in his hand.

The whip was strange. It obviously wasn't an ordinary whip by any means. The sheer presence of the whip alone could be felt as a strange yet oddly powerful energy radiated from it. In fact it was quite prominent enough to even get the attention of Pit who just looked up at the table and stared at it almost blankly yet curously. Julius then spoke up.

"You know I was afraid to use this thing. Been nearly three years since I last used it in actual combat as a matter of fact." He said as he let out a tired sigh of relief as he leaned back in the sturdy wooden chair, trying to get as comfortable as possible.

"Oh Yeto would fall on his back if such thing happened" Midna laughed at the imaginary scene of the big guy falling unconscious since he would have been blessed by a goddess thanks to his food "When we get the chance to, I can make an arrangement to meet him" she offered while looking at how Palutena created the utensils for cooking out of nowhere. She then felt powerful energy coming from Julius that then went to an object of his, a whip, it looked so normal, but the energy radiating from it told the experience it had.

"Would you look at that, a magical whip that is older than it looks, I knew you had something behind that charming personality" the twili complimented the vampire hunter as she eyed the whip again. She then heard that he had been out of combat for three years, that gave her a vague idea of what could be brewing "Again, my offer still stands, it is better to be more than prepared than going solo"

Palutena didn't say much oddly at Midna's comment aside from a small laugh. "I would very much appreciate that." Palutena replied as she oddly managed to ignore the whip, while Pit on the other hand stood up and nervously eft the room, preparing to head towards his room.

"Okay I'll be back later... I'm gonna go play some games in my room if you need me." Pit spoke out as he went down the hall, disappearing into his room.

"Okay Pit. Just don't get addicted! You know what happened last Christmas!" Palutena teased as she went back to cooking.

Julius meanwhile smirked as he looked at his whip. The comment that Midna made about it was true. It was a whip that was not only old, but also has a story behind it. A pretty long an interesting one at that...

"Well of course. As a man of the Belmont Clan I have to be ready for anything at any time. You never know when chaos will show it's ugly mug. Even though it's been three whole years since I last actually fought, I still keep up some training. Some standard jogs in the morning before work, and some basic yet effective workouts. I mean even though this whip possesses a large amount of power, it would be nearly useless in the hands of someone who couldn't use it. It's a shame though that once I pass there won't be anyone to use it. At least to my knowledge. Where I come from I am the last member of my clan, and I haven't had a child to inherit the whip. So once I pass it could be a very long time before this whip would ever see the lime-light again..." Julius had replied as he let out a slightly depressed sigh.

"This whip had been passed down through my clan for many generations, and only the members of my clan are truly capable of using it with it's full power. Anyone else would need to go through a trial that unfortunately, is too dangerous itself to go through. Even if someone were to undergo the trial and succeed, they wouldn't be able to use the whip with it's full power for long before their life is cut short. So that's a bit of a depressing thought isn't it? Either way that reason is also why I will try and stay ready for anything despite my age. I want to make sure the power of this whip doesn't become pointless."

"Hm.. so it is both a blessing and a curse" Midna commented "I mean, it has great power and can be used to reach incredible feats, but the price for it is a long and big one, no wonder only selected people would be able to use it" she said also understanding the possible fate of the whip if he was the last of his line. Then an idea came to her "Haven't you searched for others of your clan? sure you were the last one in your universe, but maybe someone else from a different time got into this world too" she suggested trying to lighten the mood.

"There are millions of characters from different games, so it would be possible that another Belmont or ally of your clan lived around here or at least in the country" the twili continued "Or you can train someone you think is worthy of using your whip, an apprentice"

"Hmm... there is bound to be other members of my clan from various timelines in this world. Some probably lost, while others could have died or just found a nice quiet place to live. But it would be difficult searching for them. I mean yes I could use say the internet, or ask Palutena to help out. But that could take a long time or might not even get a response. To be honest there are just so many variables, and at my age it would be a pain to leave the home I made here. But all those ideas are not out of the realm of possibility." Julius replied as he stretched a bit before standing up to go to the living room.

"But the apprentice idea... that is something I've actually been thinking about for a while... Just haven't found someone capable of taking up that role yet..." Spoke Julius as he walked to the Living Room. However just as he got there he stopped in his tracks as he felt the same presence from earlier. In fact he wasn't the only one to have detected it. Palutena did as well, as indicated by her accidentally dropping the ladle and pot she had in her hands. Pit also detected it as indicated by him leaving his room.

"Do you guys feel that?" Pit asked as Julius didn't say anything. Instead he just took off towards the door, out of the apartment and towards the stairs. Palutena spoke up to Pit.

"Pit you go help him. I'll give you my bow!" Palutena spoke as Pit nodded, running out of the apartment closely behind Julius while her bow began to manifest in his hands.

It was obvious that something was definitely going on now. As the evil presence that was coming from outside had not yet faded in the slightest.

Palutena then turned to Midna. "Midna I know you're a guest, but I can tell that you are more powerful than you look. Could you go please aid them? I'll be sure to provide support from up here. I need to make sure this building and the residents of this place remains unharmed."

She quikly got on her feet and was about to talk about the energy when Palutena asked her to help. "Well then, you just took my words out of my mouth" she made that toothy smirk again and with a gesture of her arms, her dress exploded in particles becoming her sarong and cloak "Iīm better with this kind of dress for fights, yours is safe, and now" she ran towards the stairs "Donīt miss the fun"

Meanwhile out in the streets Julius and Pit were standing outside the door of the Lobby, and on the sidewalk outside. What they saw surprised Pit, but didn't really seem to surprise the Vampire Hunter as indicated by his rather calm and collected, if not bored face. What they were seeing was a small group of demons. Mostly an army of skeletons. Some skeletons were armed with bows and arrows, others with flintlock rifles, and others with various other weapons. They were causing all sorts of chaos, but weren't really attacking anyone. In fact it was more like they were searching for something or someone. Seeing this Julius and Pit looked at each other and nodded before leaping into action.

Pit had made good use of Palutena's bow as he target some of the ranged threats, firing several blue energy arrows at some of the skeletons with rifles and bows on the top of the rooftops around the apartment, being sure to avoid any gunfire. Thanks to being an angel he is managing to do that quite well, even when on the ground. While Julius on the other hand was weaving in and out of the skeletons on the ground, using his Vampire Killer whip to strike some of the skeletons, and thanks to the power of the whip. It only took one crack of the whip on a single skeleton to take one out. However Julius did notice that they weren't really attacking them directly. In fact it seemed almost out of self defense oddly.

"This is odd. They didn't start attacking until we did. But why? Are they not trying to attack people?" Julius asked himself as he continued to fight back against some of the more armored skeletons, of which he had to use his whip to remove their armor before striking, while being sure to avoid getting stabbed or cleaved in half.

As a skeleton jumped at Julius, a black hand with blue lines of light crushed it to the ground "Maybe because you guys attacked first" Midnaīs voice was heard as she floated down to land on the hand that vanished leaving pieces of broken bones "They could probably be evil, but" she evaded an arrow and launched black particles towards the archer "Now they are angered at you and knowing the minion type of creatures, they will try to destroy the new threats, aka us" she said forming a halberd and picked it.

"By the way, if they were searching for something or someone, we need to focus on that too" the twili suggested using the halberd to block an attack and countering by slicing the minionīs body in half "Pit! if you see some of the creatures leaving the area, stop them!" she shouted so the angel could hear.

"On it!" Pit responded as he lept into the air before crying out for Palutena. "Lady Palutena please! Give me flight!" Pit cried out as Palutena's voice could be heard echoing through the minds of not just Pit, but also Julius and Midna. " Pit I'll grant you my Power of Flight!" Palutena's voice echoed as Pit's wings began to glow brightly, then with a single flap of his wings he took off into the sky to quickly stop a few skeletons that he noticed were retreating.

However it didn't take long for a large shadow to appear over Pit, and on the ground below. Seeing this Pit looked and screamed as a large beast about twice Julius's height came crashing down onto Pit, pile-driving him into the ground while roaring loudly.

Midna was about to comment on how telepathic messages was strange and shivering when she heard the roar of a monster, a monster that crashed down with the angel boy. She had just enough time to make another hand just below them to stop some of the crashing. The pressure coming from the landing made the twili struggled for a moment. It would have been a bit easier if the skeletons wouldnīt keep attacking her. "You got to be kidding me, this guys jump started already sending the big guys" she grumbled impaling a skeleton with her halberd.

The former princess threw the destroyed skeleton and focused more magic on the hand making a platform.

As the beast came crashing down upon Pit with a loud roar, Midna had managed to thankfully relieve some of the punishment Pit would have suffered with her magic. Much to the relief of Palutena and Julius. However Julius upon hearing the roar and seeing the creature scowled as he recognized the demon. It didn't take long for Julius to ready his whip as he jumped into the air,off a Skeleton's head, and right towards the beast. The beast upon looking at Julius roared once more as it took off into the air before the Vampire Hunter could strike the beast.

"Gaibon! I don't know why you're here! But we will destroy you!" Julius yelled as he landed on the ground near where the beast now known as Gaibon had pile drived Pit. Julius immediately reacted by turning to Pit who was already beginning to stand up again. Without thinking Julius helped the angel boy up as Pit was trying to recollect his focus. Meanwhile Gaibon was now scanning the area... picking who to target...

"An angel... a Belmont... and a being I have not seen once before... Interesting... but who shall I choose as my target?" The beast growled as it's eyes finally locked onto Midna. Within an instant the beast fired an intense stream of fire and smoke at the Twili before quickly diving after her through the smoke and flames. All the while Julius began sprinting towards Midna in hopes to at least protect her from the fire and smoke, or at least Gaibon himself as Pit was still dazed from being pile-drived into the ground.
