    Route 207

After a while, Koishi and the others started to give up, and began to head back to the Oreburgh Gate, going through some tall grass in the process.

Sometimes when you're driving down a road, a bug hits your windshield. It's ugly and unpleasant, but you just activate the wipers / cleaning fluid and it's gone in a few seconds. It's just part of driving down the road. You don't dwell on it, because that'd be silly. Bugs aren't worth the time.

You just discard their guts and keep on driving.

"Thanks." Yuuka said to Sherry as she rose from the lake to the surface. A mess she was in: she was soaking wet head to toe. Her red hat was given to Larvesta so it was dry, but that was it. Her green hair dripped water, her white sleeveless became a see-through, and the shade of her red low-cut jeans became darker becayse of the leather absorbing too much water. She shivered; even though the weather was mildly warm (as was the climate of Hoenn: warm in the spring and autumn) the lakewater was cold.

"That wasn't fun at all." Lilac winced as she shook any moisture out of her fur like a dog would. Fraxinella flew far away from Lilac as to not get any water on her, while Kappa deluged in the lake, seemingly content.

"Yo! You can't jam out if you're a Pokemon trainer!" A young boy witb straw hat and a butterfly net challenged Koishi who was scurrying around in the grass.

        "You're welcome."

Sherry was glad to see that Yuuka and her party of pokemon were alright. She didn't know them enough to be considered friends, but they were allies nonetheless. They were on the job together, after all. As she thought about, and as she noticed Yuuka's predicament, Sherry decided she could make herself useful. She turned to her pack and gave it a jostle before pulling out a small towel and handing it off to the green-haired woman.

If anything, seeing Yuuka in that white shirt made Sherry rethink her attire. She would have to get something that wasn't white if there was going to be a lot of water around. Knowing how she ran and rolled around, she didn't need to be embarrassed as well.

"Here, take this towel. Besides the bees, I see that you took care of that injured pokemon without a hitch," Sherry observed as she looked at the Larvesta. "Claire, no, you can't eat him. Uh, her."

"Uh, yeah. Thanks." Yuuka took the towel, quickly dried her hair and body, and gave the towel back to her. "I'll be fine until I get to Rustboro. See, the city's right over there."

Yuuka pointed beyond the horizon, where the city of Rustboro was ahead, but it was a good hour walk. With whatever distractions the two may end up encountering, it would be midday before they arrive.

The Larvesta grumbled at Claire. "Back off, you. I"m not your lunch."

"Our eyes met! Pokemon rule states that two people with Pokemon that meets the eyes in the wilderness can challenge one another! Therefore, I want to battle!" The young bug catcher eagerly shouted.

Sherry took back the towel and wrung it out over the lake. She didn't have a blanket for when the nights got cold, which was a damn shame. All she had for insulation was her towel and sleeping bag, and she didn't want both of them to be wet. A bad experience in the Edonian mountains proved that. The agent packed her towel back into her pack and looked to where Yuuka was pointing.

"I managed to get that trainer some help and pointed him towards Rustboro," Sherry explained. "With any luck, he's being admitted as a patient in a clinic or hospital as we speak. The bad thing is that Team Anarchy took his pokemon. His pokemon, a Slackoff or Slackoth if I remember right, was taken to the team's hideout there in Rustboro." She looked back at Yuuka. "We may be able to kill two birds with one stone there."

Claire hopped away from the Larvesta and back to her perch on the bridge's end post. She tilted her head up, down, left and right in various positions as she stared at the bug-type before offering what looked to be a shrug as she ruffled her feathers. Brave as she was, she wasn't going to eat something she had no knowledge of, especially if it was capable of utilizing fire. She gave a short chirp, a giggle, before returning to Sherry. If the Larvesta wasn't being hunted down right then and there, then it wasn't a threat but an ally.

'That's....who came up with these rules?" Koishi asked. "Our eyes met, let's fight each other because I don't like being stared at."

                Kogasa and Snow both laughed.

"I found Fraxinella injured on a grass bed. When I tried to help them, two goons, possibly Team Anarchy again, tried to stop me. I beat them up though. Yuuka casually said as Fraxinella the Larvesta joined Claire on the flight by vibrating its' tiny fire wings. Kappa left the lake at Yuuka's call and hopped on top of Yuuka's shoulders. Lilac merely kept pace next to the two humans, not speaking much for the entire journey to Rustboro City.

                  12:10 PM

"So this is Rustboro." Yuuka marveled at the city's design: a metropolitan city with a mixture of towering skyscrapers' modern designs and stone houses' traditional looks, creating a definite unique layout. "I've never expected a city to be this big."

"We need to find a Pokecenter first." Kappa suggested. "Fraxinella is hurt."

Kappa the Lotad was right: Fraxinella has been wobbling as she flew to the Rustboro, due to the bleeding on her head causing nausea.

"You're right." Yuuka nodded to Kappa then said to Sherry: "Let's stop by the Pokemon Center, eat lunch, and then try to find the hideout."

"I don't make the rules, I follow them." The bug catcher shrugged nonchalantly. "If you're so scared that your Pokemon would lose, that's understandable too. You can just hand me some of your Pokedollars!"

"Welp, I don't have money, and i'm bored, so why not?" Koishi smiled, a kind of unnerving smile that would make most look like a serial killer.

Sherry felt relieved that Yuuka had managed to avoid getting hurt. One must never underestimate a woman when their backs were against the wall. It was good that Yuuka was able to defend herself, and even better, it was good that she was able to complete her task of saving that pokemon, however intimidating it was. The agent followed the green-haired woman off towards Rustboro, still giving herself some distance between her and that Larvesta. Perhaps seeing that reminded her of some bad times in China, but Sherry was uncertain.

When the party reached Rustboro, Sherry took the liberty of recalling Mac into his pokeball. She wasn't a fan of being noticed after so many years of always being looked at. By keeping the Machop back in his pokeball, she figured she wouldn't be challenged as frequently. All she wanted at the moment was to bond a little more with Claire, the Taillow. Stepping foot into the city limits, Sherry cocked a smile at Yuuka.

"The cities of this region are amazing. There's a trainer's school here, and a gym that specializes in rock types," Sherry explained. When Yuuka seemed to communicate with her pokemon and understand them, Sherry offered a raise of her eyebrows. "Did you just... Uh, right, Pokecenter... There's one near the Devon Corporation building."

Claire chirped and rolled her eyes at Sherry's cluelessness. The agent could not understand the language of pokemon, but she could communicate with them to some degree.

"Alright!" The bug-catcher was eager to showcase his Pokemon. "Introducing Bug Catcher Jeremy's insect collection! Go, Butterfree!"

This bug-catcher was no joke, having with him 4 Pokemon, and all of them fully evolved. The first Pokemon he sent out was a fully evolved Caterpie: Butterfree. Butterfree is an anthropomorphic butterfly Pokemon with red eyes, purple body, and large black-and-white insect wings that fluttered poisonous powder as she flapped her wings.

The Butterfree tried to shake free from the cold, but the icy wind of Snow claimed her wings. Unable to move her wings, the Butterfree decided to play with Snow's minds, sending a mind-boggling wavelength: Confusion.

(I've been meaning to get to that. I'm eating lunch and can't get to my pc but once I do, that'll be the first thing I finish.)

"I'm sorry I didn't notice her wound before," Sherry apologized when she noticed the wound on the Larvesta's head. "But, at least she seems alright. Better get her patched up, just to be safe."

The walk to the pokemon center was uneventful, something Sherry was grateful for. She half-expected another incident in the city, but it seemed that things were all under wraps. The officers of the city cared about the people, and the pokemon under their employ were loyal partners. Sherry reached the pokemon center and opened the door for Yuuka.

                              "After you."

The wavelength hurt Snow's head, and trying to push it aside was difficult. Her vision was distorted, so she trusted her gut and fired another Powder Snow, hopefully towards the Butterfree.
