"Mew is the New Species Pokemon." Professor Rowan answered as he opened up his laptop, typed in a few keys, and turned the monitor to John. The picture of Mew and Arceus was visible side to side. "And the Arceus is the Alpha Pokemon."

Mew was a pink, humanoid creature with a tail that was wider on the end. Arceus, meanwhile, was a Qilin-like creature with golden cross across the stomach and black mane flowing through its' peculiar body shape.

"These two are considered Gods among Pokemon." Professor Rowan added. "They are considered the basis of all Pokemon we know today."

Amidst the snow-covered grassland of Acuity Lakefront, a pokemon named Meditite was meditating by the lakeside. When he felt the approaching Koishi and Snorunt, he looked back and glared at them with curiosity.

Meditite is a humanoid pokemon with swirly hair and ears, blue body, and a... diaper. It usually spends its day meditating to heighten its' senses for any event, like now.

"Good day." Meditite greeted first. "I'm assuming you are here to train."

John looked at the Pokemon and studied their features. Mew looked harmless. It was a small, pink pokemon that had an almost cat-like head with large, blue eyes. The hands looked to be little more than flat stubs with tiny little fingers, and the feet looked like rabbit's feet. Arceus looked more majestic. It was a large, withe and black creature with some kind of golden waist ornament. It's feet ended in golden caps, almost like shoes. It's head and tail resembled wisps, and on its forehead was another golden cap. John quickly recorded the pictures and labeled them into his suit, allowing him to pull them up at a later time.

"So Pokemon are creatures that are capable of rapid mutation, allowing them to evolve in short amounts of time?", John asked Prof. Rowan.

"Well, not exactly." Koishi said. "We're more just...passing through."

"Yeah, what she said." Snow commented, dropping down from Koishi's hat.

Sometimes when you're driving down a road, a bug hits your windshield. It's ugly and unpleasant, but you just activate the wipers / cleaning fluid and it's gone in a few seconds. It's just part of driving down the road. You don't dwell on it, because that'd be silly. Bugs aren't worth the time.

You just discard their guts and keep on driving.

"Essentially, yes." Professor Rowan sipped on his coffee. "Lucas, some cream."

"Yes, professor." Lucas nodded as he dismissed himself into the kitchen.

"Good kid." Professor Rowan said. "Where was I... Pokemon's evolution is not determined by the natural habitat or by the sudden decrease in population, but by the experience it gains through battle. Pokemon are competitive creatures for number of reasons: food, resources, and survival. Therefore, Pokemon thrive under the pressure of battling. When they bathe in enough experience, they undergo the metamorphosis known to us as Evolution."

"Take for instance, this Pokemon." Professor Rowan opened a Pokeball in his pocket to reveal a rock Pokemon with an iron shield on its' head: Aron. "This Pokemon requires a lot of experience to be able to evolve into its' counterpart Lairon. However, once evolved, their new metamorphosis will grant them new power and ability."

"If that is the case..." the Meditite began thinking, then asked. "Perhaps you two might be interested in helping my family?"

"Your family? Are they in trouble?" Koishi asked in a slightly worried tone.

"So the Darwinian theory is similar with them, they evolve to adapt with time" Renamon said and loiked at Diana

The combee continued with a business tone "We have the ability to evolve and become stronger in many paths, although there are some who stay in a form depending on their preferences. Me? I want to be a Vespiquen so I can show my independence to my kind" the bee spoke

"My family of Meditites have been in a long feud with a family of Sneasels. Their sneaky demeanors go so far to steal our belongings and tease my siblings." The Meditite explained. "We would try to fight them, but their high Speed results in us at loss frequently."

"Winter is coming soon." The Meditite looked out to the horizon of the lake. "Me and my parents have learned to only eat one berry a day, but my siblings have not, and they need to eat in order to survive the winter. However, we do not have enough food because of the Sneasels."

John looked at the pokemon and slightly tilted his head to the side. It was a strange pokemon to see. It looked like a bug with iron armor. It's legs were small, iron stubs that protruded out of it's black body. On it's back was an iron shell with a small hole on each of its flanks and a horn jutting out of the very middle. On its face was an iron mask with holes right above and below its blue eyes. John couldn't quite tell if it was some kind of beetle or insect, but seeing as how diverse these pokemon were, he was most likely wrong.

"And that's why people train them, to help them evolve into their next form, right?", John asked Prof. Rowan.

"We've met 'em." Koishi said. "Actually, I saved little Snow here from them."

"Yeah, they outnumbered me, sort of got me into a corner." Snow rubbed it's head.

"Even if we were able to find them, we would still be outnumbered." Koishi explained.

Lucas brought the coffee cream from the kitchen, which Professor Rowan took and poured into his coffee. "To some extent, yes. Some Pokemon owners decide not to train their Pokemon, to keep them in their docile unevolved form."

The Aron scooted towards John. With its' giant iron head, he rubbed himself against John's armor.

"Ah, that Pokemon seems to have taken a liking to you." Professor Rowan observed.

"Outnumbered?" The Meditite stood up. The Pokemon was about as tall as Snow, if not smaller. "I can see that your Snorunt is quite strong. Can you help me drive out those Sneasels away from my family?"

Snow and Koishi looked at each other for a moment, then looked back to the Meditite.

"Yeah, we'll help you." Koishi said in a somewhat cheerful tone.

John was taken aback by the Pokemon's reaction. Usually when anyone or anything saw him, they didn't take a liking to him. He was more used to odd stares, fearful and tense reactions, or simple awe from his teammates, or fear and hatred from his enemies. John really didn't know how to react.

Uhh, I.. I guess that's true...", John said to Prof. Rowan in a tone of uncertainty.

"Hmm, how about you keep that Pokemon?" Professor Rowan proposed. "He was given to me by Professor Birch of the Hoenn Region... but I do not have enough time to raise him properly. Perhaps you might be able to raise that Aron better than I can as of this moment."

"How exciting, you have a Pokemon on your own now!" Cynthia congratulated John.

"Thank you very much!" Meditite bowed. "Now-"

                            "There you are!"

The two Sneasels that Koishi and Snow encountered two times already appeared. They had small scratch marks on their bluish black skin. Their hit points were a little bit gone.

"You tricked us, you punk!" One of the Sneasel growled. "For that, I'll make sure to make you faint!"
"You deceived us, you jerk!" The other Sneasel roared. "I'll assure that you will pay for that!"

"There they are!" The Meditite exclaimed. "Those two have been bullying my family!"

                            "Hey Lilac!"

Lilac the Eevee woke up to the sight of a lady's face. Yuuka was waiting for Lilac to wake up so that they can continue the journey. Fortunately it didn't take long, otherwise the Eevee would've been subjected to Yuuka's wrath.

"I'm Yuuka, and I will be your trainer starting today." Yuuka smiled.

"Nice to meet you..." Lilac shied away, timid to meet new people. The shyness of Lilac reminded Yuuka of Mystia Lorelei. Ufufu, how cute.

"Let's get going." Yuuka said as from the bushes, an acorn Pokemon attacked.

This acorn Pokemon was particularly strong in the fact that it was Level 5, way higher than what you would expect from the first route. Not only that, this Pokemon was highly defensive.

"Uh oh." Yuuka saw the danger. "We might want to run."

"OH NO YOU DON'T! Sandbite use bite on that acorn Pokemon!" Yelled a young boy with peach colored hair who was none other than Chung Seiker. Shortly after that a small brown crocodile Pokemon came running out of the woods behind him. The crocodile Pokemon was preparing to bite the Seedot.

"I won't let you get away that easily!" Said Chung as he hopped in front of Yuuka.

"Snow, use Powder Snow!" Koishi said. Luckily Snow told her what the names of her moves were as they were coming down here. And hopefully it would be strong enough to fight the Sneasels.

Snow then sent out a sparkling and somewhat strong freezing cold air towards one of the Sneasel.
