    Hoenn Region - Route 104

"Claire, don't peck at people without permission," Sherry scolded as she shooed Claire back onto her other shoulder. She rubbed her back and tried to come up with something to say herself. "Flower shop owner? Yeah, I guess so. I'm uh... A student from Raccoon City in North America. Yeah."

The agent cringed at her own lie, but it got the job done (no it didn't). Unbeknownst to most people Sherry Birkin was the best liar to have ever lived (no she wasn't). Should her position become compromised, she could always rely on her wit and charm to get herself out of a bad situation (bumble around and look adorably helpless). Basically, she was the very model of a charismatic femme fatale (i.e. guilty puppy with an unloaded handgun). She sighed and turned back to the road, thankful that she didn't drive herself to relive Raccoon City again (or remember Leon's driving skills).

"Are you doubting me?" Yuuka teased Sherry as another group of young boys stopped their progression in front of the Petalburg Woods. "Would you like me to list all 400,000 flowering plant species? Go Kappa, do your thing."

Yuuka didn't pick up on Sherry's half-lie. This was good! She breathed a covert sigh of relief at having dodged a bullet there. Explaining Raccoon City and her inner virus was not something she wanted to do, especially with a woman she barely knew. Jake was an exception, as he and Sherry were forced together and had to rely on each other, and they could not do that while keeping things from each other.

"No, I don't doubt you. Japan's a big place, so you knowing your stuff about flowers is certain," Sherry replied. She looked over to the group of young boys and offered Claire a spot to battle. "Another battle? Well... I suppose I could make the time."

Claire the Taillow swooped down and hovered in front of her trainer, ready to fight once again.

          "Go, Shroomish!"

          "Go, Poochyena!"

The young boys sent out another set of what looked to be a common, everyday type of Pokemon. Sure, Kappa the Lotad and Claire the Taillow were also seen often, but not as often as those two.

          Shroomish Lv: 4
          Poochyena Lv: 4

"So where was I?" Yuuka went on, not caring too much about the battle at hand. It was either if Yuuka did not care about her Pokemon, or that she trusted her Pokemon enough to let them do whatever they think is the best move. Seemed like the latter was the truer case, as Kappa began to single-handedly scare the enemy Shroomish until the Shroomish fainted. "Oh yeah, so tell me about this Team Anarchy. They sound like a bunch of phonies to me, but what do they do exactly? Do you know?"

The Shroomish looked like some sort of turnip, or a mushroom in Sherry's eyes. As far as she could tell, most pokemon had an appearance based on their type, so the fact that the Shroomish was a mushroom-looking creature gave way to the idea that it was a grass type. Grass types were weak to fire and ice, but were they weak to flying types? Sherry wanted to know that, so she sent out Claire to do some testing.

It seemed that the Taillow's pecks didn't do much against the Shroomish, and besides, it was being attacked by the Lotad already. Sherry directed Claire to swoop down and attack the hyena-looking puppy pokemon and watched as the little bird harassed it. A trainer knew when to utilize different strengths, but Sherry was just starting out. She figured that she could use Claire's speed and tenacity to disorient opponents before sending in her muscle, Mac, to finish the job. As she looked on at the battle, she heard Yuuka's question ringing in her ears.

"I don't know much, to be honest," she replied with a cringe when she saw Claire take a hit on her side. "I believe they just stir trouble, but there's a means to their madness. There's just gotta be, because one member stole some data from Devon Corp. and wounded a researcher in the process. I don't have enough on them to come up with anything good, and I really don't want to find out if they use guns or not."

The trio wandered around the grass some more, hoping for some sort of creature to pop out so they could train.

Sometimes when you're driving down a road, a bug hits your windshield. It's ugly and unpleasant, but you just activate the wipers / cleaning fluid and it's gone in a few seconds. It's just part of driving down the road. You don't dwell on it, because that'd be silly. Bugs aren't worth the time.

You just discard their guts and keep on driving.

"So they are kinda more than a bunch of juvenile delinquents." Yuuka noted. Combination of Kappa and Claire quickly took care of the Poochyena, granting Kappa and Claire another level. "Let's move on, shall we?"

Sinnoh Region - Oreburgh Gate | 9:34 AM

John was making a brisk pace towards Oreburgh City, intent on speaking with Renamon about his change of plans. Knowing The Didact, he was planning on a way to enslave Humanity, just like he tried to do in their universe. What was even worse was the fact that nobody in this world would be able to stop The Didact, not with his gravity manipulating technology and vastly superior armor. Did The Didact have weapons from their universe too? John still had his, so perhaps The Didact did as well. That would only serve to complicate the situation. John would not only have to contend with being hurled through the air without even being touched, he would also have to worry about the destructive force of Hardlight ammunition. If John was going to combat The Didact, then he would need to find a way to nullify The Didact's ability to control gravity.

John continued to walk through the cave, lost in his thoughts.

As John traversed through the tunnel, a giant dark enigma appeared from the other side of the tunnel, like a bat. The enigma towered well over John's height. He was dressed in full black, contrasted by his pale face, crimson eyes, and his black helmet. He had wings attached on his back like a fallen angel of bloodlust and battle. Something about this enigma... This thing... Made John's anger increased several times. But when the enigma slammed his head against a stalagmite, one couldn't help but feel silly for him.

"I must watch where I am going..." The enigma muttered next to John as if John didn't exist.

"Growlithe, no!" The gate guard retracted the Growlithe back into his Pokeball. "I'm sorry for my Pokemon's behavior. As the rule states, I have to concede defeat."

                    Aurelia grew to Lv: 6!

Sherry wanted to give the two boys some advice, perhaps a few tips as to how to improve their technique, but she had no knowledge to give. Who was she to give advice about two pokemon she had little to no experience with? The best she could do was offer her sympathy, and better yet, her approval. She smiled and flashed them a thumbs-up before taking Claire on her shoulder once again. Perhaps they were starting out, she thought. They needed everything they could get that told them they were doing alright.

And so, Sherry turned back to Yuuka and followed her into the woods.

"I can handle juvenile delinquents," Sherry replied. She dusted her hands and looked around for anything out of place. "So, apologies for asking, but what's with your eyes? Are they contacts?"

"That's OK," Sekibanki reassured the male gate guard with a woman's name, "I'm going to Join Avenue. Maybe they'll have first aid." "Good luck, old friend," said the gate guard. Sekibanki went to leave the gate, but was stopped by a Pokefan. "Hello, I'm a representative of the Unova division of the Pokefan club. Would you like to join?," she asked Sekibanki. "No. I do, however, wish to battle you," Sekibanki said derisively.

Before Sherry can answer, a large yelp of a man and a desperate chirp of a Pokemon echoed through the woods.

"Someone's in trouble." Yuuka detected the sources of the screams for a help. "I'll see what's happening to the Pokemon, you help the person!"

"My Pokemon?" The Pokefan hesitated, but then beamed. "I would love to show you my delightful Pokemon!"

The Pokefan sent out a pink, cat-like Pokemon, Skitty. The Skitty meowed and scratched her claws on a metal beam.

Prove to her that ugly Pokemon are worth something!," Sekibanki exclaimed as she threw out the Barboach Aurelia. "Uh," Aurelia had to say. She couldn't believe that Sekibanki could be like that. This wasn't the Sekibanki she had shared screentime with, all those years ago. She prepared to Mud-Slap the Skitty in the face...

Galloping across the field was a herd of Ponyta, grazing on the meadows between mountainy hills. One of the Ponyta noticed Koishi and her crew and approached with curiosity.

The Skitty made an attacking motion but did not actually attack. The mere anticipation of an attack immobilized Aurelia.

"Ponyta, is that what they're called?" Koishi asked, Kogasa nodding in response. "Still cute looking."
