    Hell of Blazing Fires

Utsuho frowned, closed her eyes, and buried her face in her hands, even more embarrassed that she was looking in the wrong area the entire time. She knew what people said about her; that she was bird-brained and empty-headed. It wasn't completely true, it was just that she was very absent-minded and sometimes had moments where she would make stupid mistakes. Yes, she admitted that she was ditsy, but she wasn't completely incompetent.

"Thank you.", Utsuho said as she grabbed her Third Leg and began to get dressed.

"I didn't ask for help because I was afraid that they were going to either tell Satori or Kanako. I thought I was going to lose my powers.", Utsuho said to Orin.

"Thoughts are an interesting thing. But, to be honest, you do look somewhat distressed. Trust me, I know distressed, and you would too if you had to bunk up with a mouse."

"Ey, don't worry Okuu." Orin put her arm over Okuu's shoulder. "Always try to think optimistically. Maybe Kanako would make another for you, and Satori, oh, next to Koishi, you were always her favorite. There's nothing to worry about, okay?" Orin said in a soothing voice.

Sometimes when you're driving down a road, a bug hits your windshield. It's ugly and unpleasant, but you just activate the wipers / cleaning fluid and it's gone in a few seconds. It's just part of driving down the road. You don't dwell on it, because that'd be silly. Bugs aren't worth the time.

"Hmm." Mystia shrugged. "If it was anything of importance to you, I would tell you, but it's nothing for you really."

The Bridge People No Longer Cross

Yuugi leaned on the wall while looking at the water "Geez, I just wanted some air from the outside world" she said to herself sighing.

The oni looked forward and looked at her palm ("We may be creatures of inhuman strength and look like drunktards, but man we enjoy our lives, so why are we the ones shunned from society, not that I don´t like it here either. Its just frustrating") she thought closing her hand into a fist

("Atleast I got Suika and the others to have a hell of a day and Parsee to feel human") the final thought gave her a smile

Yuugi stretched her arms and looked at her dress, it had some small patches of dirt because of the prank Koishi started, but there were no shredded robes "Atleast my sandals were the only things I lost"

"It's just that I was afraid that Kanako would think I wasn't responsible enough to keep my powers, and I had a feeling that Satori would scold me for losing it, then tell Kanako about me losing the only thing that regulates my powers and keeps me from becoming a walking nuclear meltdown waiting to happen.", Utsuho explained to Orin as she finished getting dressed.

Utsuho took a deep breath and sighed, relieving herself from the worries of losing her powers. After a couple seconds, Utsuho turned her head over to Orin, this time grinning at her friend.

"And I wouldn't leave you out of the family. I bet Satori favors you just as much as she does with all of us.", Utsuho said to Orin in a more cheerful tone as she placed her hand over Orin's shoulder.

Now that Utsuho had her Third Leg back, she seemed to be calmer and happier. Yes, she was still getting over being so worried, but she was quickly returning to her usual self.

The Bridge People No Longer Cross

After hearing the oni's reply, Nitori quickly jumped in the water. She loved water, though she might be a bit biased. She played around a bit, before filling a few bottles with her favorite element. She then used her rotor once she almost left the water, and landed on the bridge next to Yuugi. She wasn't wet except for her hair; her clothes were waterproof, that was a lot easier if you lived near water, and swam in it every day. It saved you time, because you didn't have to dry yourself of after swimming.

"OK, done! Shall we continue?" she asked the oni. If she still was in a bad mood because of the prank, being in the water certainly solved that.

The Bridge People No Longer Cross en route to Oni city

"Ok then, let´s roll it" Yuugi said walking towards the city "Since you are an oddity on this areas, many will notice you and ask about why you are here. That cloak of yours won´t work so easily euther, if we can´t see you, we can smell your scent. Not that you are a threat or viceversa, things have changed a lot since the oni/tengu wars" she explained while they were entering the city

The city in question looked more like a festival, some people were drinking in the nearby bars, others parading on the close markets and so on in whatever festivity they were having ("Atleast they are in a normal party style, this little one would be terrified if someone starts going to the next level") the oni thought as she brought the kappa close to her

"First we will reach my house, my feet are killing me and I don´t want to step on anything sharp" Yuugi said pointing at a house that was rather separated from the others "I prefer having my own space to rest, some parties last days and I do need some rest"

Voile Library - Scarlet Devil Mansion

Patchouli ultimately decided to go with choosing an enchanted children's book at random for Flandre. She walked into the aisle where her projects were and fingered through the books on the shelves, searching for something fitting. As she moved and touched the books, the elicited various responses from the personalities contained within. For some reason, she smiled. It felt a little lively with all the voices in the aisle, so much that it had affected Patchouli's gait.

"Heeheehee! That tickles!" said a bright-covered book as Patchouli touched its spine.

"Getting fondled again? It's like Raccoon City all over again," grumbled another.

"In native country, book touches you, little girl," boomed a hardcover as Patchouli hovered over it. "Touch book some more."

"Ah, this might be suitable," Patchouli said as she pulled out a bright red book with golden text. "The Adventures of Rick Mundy, Archeologist."

The book vibrated in Patchouli's hands.

"Save your voice for a child, Mr. Mundy," Patchouli said as she tucked the book under her arm and walked through the library. She stretched as she walked, readying herself for the trip to Flandre's chambers. "I'll give you an audience for your story."

Much faster than should have been possible since the ingredients she wanted were not common. The doll shook its head then pointed in a certain direction. Alice quickly recalled the dolls and then set out in the direction the doll had indicated.

Alice emerged from the dense foliage onto another path and after dusting herself off, saw a figure dressed in red with with a piano. Alice took a while to identify her, then stepped forward. "Aren't you the pianist from the prismriver sisters? Lyrica prismriver isn't it? What are you doing here in the forest of magic?"
"Oh! Yes! I am! How did you-? Ah! You're the doll maker, aren't you? And as for what I'm doing, I'm here looking for some new sounds...but...I'm a bit Lo- I mean, I can't seem to find any~" Lyrica smiled sheepishly. "Say you wouldn't happen to know a good place to find some? And could it be someplace out of the forest...?"

Near Flandre's Quarters - Scarlet Devil Mansion

After making sure that Koakuma could tend to the library in her absence, Patchouli flew up the stairs that connected her library to the main part of the Scarlet Devil Mansion. Remilia had quipped that it would be a good idea to walk for a change, to get exercise, but Patchouli wrote that off as hogwash. She didn't have many places to walk to anyway, and if she wanted to go someplace, it was well out of walking distance. Flying was much too convenient to put down in favor of 'exercise'.

The fairy maids of the mansion were all busily tending to their duties, too engrossed to notice the mistress of the library floating past them. Their dedication was something to praise, but Patchouli knew that the fairies were simple-minded and lacked the intellect for high-difficulty tasks. Those were left to Sakuya, who would be delivering the book under Patchouli's hands had she not been off on a task for Remilia. The mage huffed in annoyance at that fact, but she found a tinge of joy in delivering a book herself. She was handing off knowledge to someone who may or may not respect it, and that was both exciting and terrifying.

She soon found herself at the door to Flandre's chambers. She knew it well after going through multiple twists and turns in the dungeons only to come to a large wooden door littered with chains and arcane symbols. Flandre didn't deserve all the work that went into keeping her locked away, but because she was dangerous and could not control herself, the wards were necessary. Patchouli raised her hand to the door to knock when she pulled back. Just what had come over her? Flandre was dangerous! She was better off going back to the library and waiting for Sakuya to come by.

Yet, Patchouli refused to move from her spot. She stood there with her hand raised to knock on Flandre's door, looking like a damned fool who couldn't make up her mind. She hoped nobody saw her before she made up her mind.

Utsuho was about to jump at the opportunity to get a delicious little snack, but it had been two hours since the Hell of Blazing Fires had been attended to. It was a wonder nobody appeared yet to ask about the drop in temperature. She knew that people would notice, so she opted to stay and do her job.

"I would love a snowcone, but I need to reheat the Hell of Blazing Fires before anyone notices the temperature drop... Can you bring me one?", Utsuho asked Orin.

Then, footsteps could be heard beyond the other side of the door, seemingly waiting, or curious.

"Hello?" came a somewhat worried sounding voice of a little girl.

Patchouli's breath hitched. Flandre had heard her, even when she was being quiet. This presented a problem for the purple mage. She could walk away and return to her library, but in doing so, she would feel that old, unwelcome feeling in her heart: guilt. No matter how dangerous Flandre was, she was still a child at heart, and a child deserved better than a cold reception. It went against all good sense and reason, but Patchouli decided to do it anyway.

She knocked on Flandre's door and hugged the red book.

"Flandre? It is I, Patchouli. I... I thought you may want to have a book to read, or perhaps, I could read to you," she squeaked.

She did not know why she included that last part. If fear was influencing her words, it was not doing a good job at it if it was trying to get Patchouli killed. She held her breath and waited for an answer.

"A...a story?" Flandre said, sounding a bit excited. The door then partially opened, being stopped by the chains. Flandre just looked through the door, looking at Patchouli with her big red eyes.
