Sally's Room - Addled Apartments - Gensoka City | Night

"Mental assaulting mafia.. I heard of it, but got no face for them though" Yuugi answered rather unfortunately

"But, we can talk with the people in the underground stores, there is always someone high enough or drunk enough to spill the beans detective." the oni explained to her and then looked at both detectives

"If you both need assistance with the lower levels, you can contact me so we can deal with it safer than alone" Yuugi spoke handling them both a small card with an adress

"I´ll do an errand and later be on that place when you need me, See you then detectives" the blonde said geeint on the window frame and got out leaving before the cops could get into the room

Scarlet Manor - Outside of Gensoka City | Morning

The sun rose over the horizon casting its orange rays upon the skyline of the two cities. People were waking up and heading to work another labor-filled day. But there was one person who did not work on this morning.
Patchouli Knowledge sat in her library reading some crime novels. The novels themselves were of modest quality but gave little insight into how criminals in them actually worked. More often that not, details would only be revealed in random intervals or right at the end of the novel. While reading her books, a pair of familiar voices could be heard in another room. Patchouli set her book down, brushed down her dress and left the library to see what the discussion was about.

Patchouli arrived at the room that the two were located and silently opened the door. Inside she saw two women of a taller and more muscular physique than her discussing what had happened last night. One of the women was Hong Meiling, a person who worked for one of Patchouli's friends. The other was a silver haired woman wearing a navy-blue trenchcoat and a red scarf.
"Look, Sakuya. That job was dangerous. We barely got any money out of that. Only about $100 or so." Meiling said to the silver haired woman.
"Meiling, how many times do I have to tell you? Don't question my orders or The Lady's. We know what we are doing." Sakuya responded. From what Patchouli could gather, Meiling's job had some rough patches and she was complaining about it to Sakuya. Sakuya acted as Meiling's employer and superior. Although both of them had almost the same job and both worked for Patchouli's friend, The Lady, Sakuya is the one that The Lady trusts the most and does most of the work. Patchouli used her initiative and stepped into the room.
"What is going on here?" Patchouli asked the two of them.
Smash through the blocks that bar your way; No time for fear, just let it all fall away; Nobody believes in me and you, Just look at the way they stare; So what if we live in a walled garden, As long as I've got you then I don't care!

        Yuugi´s apartment - morning

The sun light crept through the window and the crimsom eyed woman woke up mm.. what time is it..?" she asked to no one while getting up from her bed and going towards the bathroom.

After dealing with her necesities and having a shower, the towel cladded oni went to the bed and sat on the edge of it "Ok, I gathered some information about what happened with the girl" she said to herself remembering everything.

The girl was sally and had a stash of alcohol and some money in her own apartment. She had a debt with the scarlet mafia and wasn´t of use anymore thus the bullet on her head to not risk any information to be leaked. The one who did it was Hong meiling, captain of the goons of the scarlets.

"There wasn´t much stuff with what those three had with themselves while escaping and they looked desperate" Yuugi thought while putting on underwear and walked to her closet taking a blouse and pants. "The detectives were having a case with two diferent groups. The auburn haired one called Byakuren is trying to deal with the scarlets while the red haired one called Komachi is searching for an illusive one that can mentally assault their victims.. They are clean for what I know and can atleast trust them"

The blonde got ready and went to a wall close to the bed, she tapped it in a certain point and the wall got separated a bit to be movable. The oni moved it and showed her weapons. There were three berettas, two lever action rifles and boxes of bullets for them. Taking both a pistol, rifle and their respective ammunition. The crimsom eyed woman started cleaning the bullets and weapons to prepare them for what may happen

"Another day in Gensokya city" Yuugi muttered while cleaning her weapons

Upper Forest District - Gensoka City

          "Morning, Maudie."

          "Morning, Ms. Nightbug."

Wriggle Nightbug. A genius entomologist and biologist who earned her Novel Prize in Medicine at her early 20s. Reserved, introverted, and yet lovable, this fair lady usually wears men's attires and address everyone with gentlemanly attitude. Her androgynous looks and flat hair that reaches to her chin certainly didn't help either. She always looked tired, battered down by countless hours of work she has put into her research.

"What will you like, dear?" Maudie, the voluptuous madam who owned a breakfast restaurant near Wriggle's mansion, asked her customer.

"I must run off to a meeting. Do fix me up something quick." Wriggle said in a hurry.

"A french toast with raspberry spread it is, then." Maudie nodded as she wrote down the order on a slip of paper. "Shall I fetch you some coffee as well?"

"Please do. Extra shot, a coffee must be dark like one's soul."

Upper Forest District, where wealthy, educated residents lived, was hardly populated at this time of hour. The rich old people were either sleeping in or having fun with the prostitutes they hired for the night. Occasionally, cars drove by to access the Carnegie Bridge to get to the one and only city you can access without special permission from the federal government: Lunaberg.

Wriggle did not mind the lock-in, although it now made her career work as entomologist a tad bit difficult. She had to get special permission from the Supree Court to get out of the border and travel to international science fair: a process that takes days, if not weeks. It's alright, Wriggle thought, I aways have a back-up source of income. With that thought in mind, Wriggle drove to the Hominis District, where the downtown was located in.

Near Cafe Jillian - Hominis/Downtown District - Gensoka City

It seemed that with a new day came new problems to surmount, but also answers to the problems of days past. Byakuren, after a bit of team-building with Komachi, had stayed at the Addled Apartments for an extra hour to gather more information on the gunshot victim. Dead as a doornail, but she didn't deserve a fate like being shot in the head. The detective kept with the officers and let them take the body to the precinct for further investigation.

Byakuren was not an expert forensic analyst like a few at the precinct, but she knew enough to know what was a stab wound, what was a gunshot, and more. She performed a quick fingerprint dusting on objects of interest, including the door handle, but her efforts came up fruitless. The crooks were wearing gloves. With that route blocked off, Byakuren turned to the landlord and his records. A girl like Sally had a last name, and she most definitely had a family.

To the detective's good fortune, her guess of Leafwing as a surname was right on the money. Sally Leafwing, a young, delicate fairy. She family: a mother, a father, and a sister, but they were living far off in the midwest. Perhaps the girl had sought to make it big as an actor or performer in Gensoka City before the blockade was placed into effect. Contacting the parents, while not so difficult with the blockade, was no small feat for the detective. The family needed to know the fate of their daughter, and they needed to be assured that things were being taken care of.

With a letter sent through the right people and the case of the murder of Sally Leafwing getting stirred up, Byakuren retired for the night.

She awoke in the morning, shuffled and groaned, took a bath, then dressed herself for the day ahead. The first thing she did when she stepped out was to duck into a coffee shop and uplift herself with something strong, lest her performance falter in the wake of her staying up so late last night. She nursed her coffee and headed out, snuggled deep in her peacoat from the nips in the air.

"Extra, extra!" cried a newsboy as he rounded on the auburn-haired detective with his newspapers. "Farmers and congress! Blockade status!"

"I'll take one," Byakuren said as she handed the boy a few coins.

As the boy ran off a few coins richer, Byakuren took the opportunity to sit down on a public bench and open up the paper. She sipped from her coffee and read at her own pace, not too concerned with much else while she had coffee to drink.

Sakuya and Meiling both turned to see Patchouli was looking right at them. Meiling was shocked by this whereas Sakuya calmly observed as Patchouli had listened in on their conversation.
"Oh, Patchouli. How nice to see you. I was just discussing with Meiling here about the job last night. Apparently the cops found her and she was saved by Rinnosuke. Would you believe that?" Sakuya said to Patchouli. Rinnosuke was a black market dealer that had close ties to Sakuya, Meiling, and The Lady. Patchouli had only ever spoken to Rinnosuke a few times and did not really care about him. He was merely another person who dealt with the other three.
"What job would that be?" Patchouli asked.
"Money collecting. A fairy borrowed from us and I went to collect it. But things didn't turn out so well and she took one." Meiling hastily responded. Patchouli never liked Meiling's bad vocabulary or her attitude. Meiling had a very brash nature to her. Always goes to get the job done and find some means to make it much harder or bloodier. It was typical for people lower than Meiling's rank to perform tasks like debt collection. A simple debt collection could have been done by anyone so it made Patchouli wonder as to why Meiling was sent instead.
Patchouli thought about what had been said while Meiling and Sakuya continued to argue.

                Streets of Gensokya

Yuugi went for a walk through the city to enjoy this time of peace. Even the bad guys had their schedules for what she guessed. Drinking her coffee, the oni was seeing how the people were managing the prohibition. Some were calm like nothing happened and others had some shiver from time to time

("After effects of alcohol withdrawal") she thought remembering the first weeks of being without a drink and she was glad that she moved on from her addiction

The blonde looked like having a calm walk, but on the inside she was taking serious looks to everything around her. Her beretta was holstered on her left side and ready for anything that could happen

                  "Good morning, Mystia."

                  "Good morning, Wriggle!"

Mystia Lorelei. A peppy young woman who owned a famous diner in the district. Her dresses are extravagant, revealing her shoulders and her back, and her fondness for jewelry was notable. This characteristic was probably because of her early career as an actress. The diner is usually the busiest on the evening, so during the peaceful morning, the owner tends to either have friendly conversations with her acquaintances and customers, or go out to the square to enjoy the fresh air.

"Will you eat anything?" Mystia asked.

"No. I've ate." Wriggle denounced the offer. Mystia nodded and went to clean the cups and watch television. Mystia's restaurant was one of the few public places where this new technology was available, thanks to her connection with the rich Wriggle. "Say, how goes the business?"

"Oh, the business is going fantastic. I've made acquaintance with quite a lot of citizens in this city, yes I have." Mystia smiled. New to the city, Mystia still has not met a lot of people, and tries to keep note of her customers so that when they come back, Mystia can recognize them.

"No, Mystia, m'dear, I'm not talking about your restaurant business." Wriggle chuckled. "I'm talking about the 'Beetle Juice.'"

Mystia's face darkened a little bit.

"Oh, it... it's going good." Mystia stuttered. "A shipment to Lunaberg has been sent last night."

"Alright." Wriggle sighed and leaned her elbows on the counter. "You know what, do make me some eggs. I must walk around a lot today, and I do not intend on doing so in an empty stomach."

"Very well. Coming right up." Mystia, cheerful once again, went to work.

The argument between the two continued for several minutes. As the time progressed, Meiling and Sakuya's voices continued to get raised louder and louder. But even while the argument continued, Patchouli continued to think over the whole idea of sending Meiling for debt collection.
"Well, I say that your orders are a bunch of bullsh*t! Right, Patchouli?!" Meiling asked Patchouli. It was obvious from the tone and volume that Meiling was not happy about this one bit. This snapped Patchouli out of her concentration.
"Actually... Sakuya, who gave out those orders? Was it you?" Patchouli asked Sakuya.
"I did give out the orders. But it was on behalf of The Lady. As you are her advisor and close friend, I thought you knew about this." Sakuya replied. Strange. Patchouli was completely unaware of this. She would have to ask The Lady about this. With little hesitation, Patchouli left Meiling and Sakuya to continue their argument while she searched for The Lady.

Restaurant Moineau - Hominis/Downtown District - Gensoka City

After some time of reading the paper and realizing that farmers were only going to get the worst of it in the coming years, Byakuren heard a rumbling. She looked up and about for the source, figuring there was something amiss, but when all she found was pain in her side, she chided herself. She had forgotten the most important meal of the day in her scatterbrained state. Coffee did not make a good substitute for food, after all.

The detective folded up her paper and tucked it in a pocket of her peacoat as she got up. The paperboy from before had went and gotten himself some bread, and while he looked ragged and poor, he was happy with his breakfast. Perhaps he had went and gotten himself something to eat with Byakuren's money, and there was no shame in that. Smiling at the sight, Byakuren turned and cruised down the streets of the Downtown District for a place to eat at.

Cafe Jillian was a nice place, but their food was tiny and only meant for a quick bite. Byakuren was a woman who needed more than that. She looked for a diner and found 'Restaurant Moineau', a famous place to eat here in Gensoka City. Byakuren wasn't aware of the fame, but she was aware of the good smells coming from the building. It reminded her of her hometown restaurant, in a sense.

She stepped inside and opened her coat to get comfortable again. The restaurant was pleasant yet surreal, nothing like Byakuren had imagined it would have been. She wanted to believe there was a nice front counter for the regulars to sit and drink their coffee before going out to fish or hunt, but this place did not have one. Perhaps a bar, but that wasn't tended to very well in these times. Byakuren shrugged and found herself a booth to sit in as well as a menu to look over. She placed her newspaper on the table and relaxed, her eyes trailing over every option.

"I've already made my decision," Byakuren said before Mystia could leave. "If I could get some eggs and fried potatoes, that would be lovely."

She noticed the waitress was very well-dressed, almost like some kind of noble or rich landlord. Did she own this restaurant and pitch in from time to time? Byakuren had seen many a landlord take an interest in the professions of their occupants, and when a businessman owned a restaurant or place of service, they could usually be seen tending to it in some way. The detective slid her menu towards the waitress and folded her hands across her lap.

"Oh, and a cup of orange juice and a cup of coffee, please," she said with a smile.

"Coming right up!" Mystia happily responded with Byakuren's orders written on a yellow slip of order paper, and returned to the kitchen to cook for Byakuren and Wriggle.

"You sound especially joyful today, Mystia." Wriggle commented, observing Mystia's actions and speech.

"Noticed?" Mystia chuckled as she poured on a glass cup the orangish yellow liquid for Byakuren. "I've earned a date with my boyfriend for tomorrow."

"Ah, nice." Wriggle congratulated. "But what of the restaurant?"

"I'll have to close it, unfortunately." Mystia sighed as she delivered the orange juice to Byakuren. "But then again, tomorrow is Easter. Surely everyone will go on a vacation, and the town will be quite empty."

"Indeed." Wriggle sighed. "I'll have to write a letter to the Secretary of State again. An international scientist' meeting is being held at Oslo, and I must go there."

"Alas, the blockade troubles you." Mystia sympathized with Wriggle, who shrugged and slumped her head on the counter in fatigue.

Byakuren reached for her glass of orange juice after giving a grateful nod towards the waitress. She lifted it to her lips to drink before hesitating. Unless she was daft, she had heard someone mention a scientist of sorts, or did they mention that they were a scientist? Those kinds of people were not so rare in Gensoka City, but to know that one was walking about and not focusing on their work was a rare occurrence. Byakuren looked up from her table and searched for the voice.

When she found the culprit, a well-versed woman in a nice pinstriped suit, Byakuren widened her eyes. She dipped into her coat and pulled out her newspaper, flipping it to the page highlighting people. And lo and behold, there nuzzled in with artists, skillsmen and politicians was a picture of Wriggle Nightbug, a new entomologist who had stumbled upon a variety of new and beneficial insects to aid humanity. The detective stood up and made her way over to the woman.

"Excuse me," she said in her sweet tone of voice, "but are you Wriggle Nightbug?"
