Okay from what I read the thermal storm caused the helicopter to crash, and John and Aqua escaped? If so then I can say that X also escaped, but barely. Using the Falcon Armor's flight function to escape the helicopter. Don't know bout Alpha Team though.
Also if that's the case I can have him come back into the scene when John and the others reach their destination.

Ah. So the helicopter was saved, and John and the others are now traveling by car to their location? I'll have X be flying through the sky as he bailed the helicopter as he thought it was going to crash. I'm going to have him fly to the rendezvous point, but first I'll have X try and send a message to John via communicator.

Sometimes when you're driving down a road, a bug hits your windshield. It's ugly and unpleasant, but you just activate the wipers / cleaning fluid and it's gone in a few seconds. It's just part of driving down the road. You don't dwell on it, because that'd be silly. Bugs aren't worth the time.
You just discard their guts and keep on driving.

Thats the wiki, but from in-game view, the windega is as long as a bus and way bigger than a truck, it can be easily as big as a store
