I can kind of see what you mean though. I sometimes get dreams of this RP, seeing through John's perspective. It's almost like those Halo live action trailers.

I thought of a good role for the character Gate from the Mega Man X series to have in this RP.

Gate:

Gate is a devoted researcher with a cold and sarcastic attitude. In order to achieve his goals, he's willing to do everything necessary to get what he wants. During his time with the research team, unlike Alia, he broke research protocols by making his creations unanalyzable, causing him to become a social outcast. He became bitter and filled with hatred when his creations were destroyed by his very own colleagues, especially because Alia (who's often speculated to have felt romantic feelings for him) was part of the conspiracy. Like many of the villains in the series, Gate desires a Reploid government under his leadership, and will gain it by any means necessary.
Gate believes that the best programs are completely unanalyzable, which is why he is so fascinated by X and Zero, and why he values the sample of Zero's DNA that he obtained so highly. In this RP he could be with the Neo-Yakuza stationed in Australia as a scientist in charge of building the weaponry, and machines for the Neo-Yakuza. Despite being more of a scientist he isn't afraid to step into the ring when the situation calls for it.

His Battle form:

In this form Gate has the ability to fly freely, and is immune to most normal means of damage (Bullets, the X-Buster, Z-Saber, explosives, and basic magic attacks.) Gate however can be harmed by his own attacks. In combat Gate prefers to use strategy like any scientist that fights would do.
His abilities.
Nightmare Hole: Gate flings a series of different colored "gates" at them. Each color of gate does a different thing, and they can each be destroyed to hurt Gate with their scattering fragments.

Nightmare Enemy: Gate will fire off a ginat purple orb that will generate a Nightmare Virus.
Nightmare Move: Gate will alternate between trying to ram the hunters off their precarious perches.
Nightmare Strike: Gate will also perform a wide strike that can destroy some of the platforms.

The Nightmare Virus:

Weak in defense and offense they only have a few attacks.
A simple energy shot from their chest which is as weak as an uncharged buster. Cannot be charged.
Simply trying to ram into their enemies.

Since they are a computer virus in a physical form they can infect any piece of equipment. They can latch onto anything and control it. For example a old deactivated and broken robot would be reanimated by the Nightmare Virus (though the virus's main body can be seen attached to whatever it is possessing [except for the virus's tentacles])
Gate seemingly has an endless amount of these Nightmare Virus's.

Lol. Like I said even if the virus (Which is able to hack through even some of the most advanced firewalls) can still easily be removed with no traces of it by destroying the body (Which will be sticking out of whatever it's possessing like a sore thumb) Even then John's shields would probably cause it to explode when one touches it much like the flood infection forms do when they touch John's shields. The only ones who were able to be immune to the Nightmare Virus was X, and Zero (Due to X's systems being to advanced for the virus to hack, and Zero because the Nightmare Virus was made from Zero's "DNA") Axl might be immune to it due to his copy chip, but it is just a theory. The other characters would be immune because they are flesh and blood. The only one I would think would be in true danger would be Renamon, but she might be able to fight it. I don't know much about Digimon to be honest.
