John then remembered that Aqua cast a "Dark Cure" spell on the boy earlier.
(Great... I think Aqua did something she shouldn't have done.)
John was not afraid, not even a little nervous. The boy was not experienced, and was not a large threat to the group.
John walked right up to the kid, picked him up over his shoulder, and began taking him to Aqua.

As John started flying, he pulled out his pistol and rifle, and fired at the Heartless, aiming for their heads.
John hit the ground and rolled to his feet, ready to fight.
John began charging his new light ability and waited for the right moment to strike.
"Sorry kid, but do you honestly expect us to know the future?", John asked in a dead-pan tone.
"I'll have you know that I used up my Biofoam to save you."

The boy began gathering all the darkness in the area. The shadows in the nearby area even disappeared.
He was completely eclipsed in darkness.
