Kappa Mines - The Dark Blowhole - Gensokyo

Max chuckled nervously at Yamame as he looked at her. "A-Are you sure? I can easily call in my Ridepod. With it's upgrades I made to it thanks to the Kappa it can lift something twice that size! If you wish I can call it in. It won't take that long to call Steve in. It really won't."

Rundown Streets - Seoul - South Korea | Evening/Night*

Lester was laying on the wrecked sofa in the main room of the garage. Following the fight earlier, Lester had passed out and needed a little bit of medical attention. Nadia had promptly seen to this and had bandaged up Lester where he was shot. Now, a good amount of his torso was wrapped in bandages to contain the wounds. Although it made Lester's upper body hard to move, at least it made him look more badass. If it weren't winter right now, Lester would have taken the opportunity to take off his shirt and expose his bandages for all to see. But thinking about that, only the other three CosmoNOTs would be seeing them. Getting off the sofa, Lester stood up and began to stretch and crack his joints. Laying down on the sofa for most of the day was beginning to make his body too stiff for his liking. Lester was a swordsman, an swift and nimble dodger. He needs his body to limber yet strong. Not as beefy and huge as Bull's, but more of a middle ground. With his body limbered up and free to move, Lester proceed out to where Nadia was.

As expected and predictable as the movement of the sun, Lester found Nadia in the back of the garage. The actual garage part of the place. This was the place which was used by mechanics to tune up or repair cars back when these streets had people living in them. Now, this room was used as Nadia's little tool shed and workstation. Here, she came up with contraptions and devices to help CosmoNOTs in WORLD DOMINATION! Or... so they thought. Without due knowledge of this world's technology and materials, Nadia wouldn't be able to do anything as dangerous as they did back in Ft. Eagle, their first base when searching for the Cells. Until then, Nadia would have to resort to analysing the technology already available and see how it worked.
"Nadia-girl, I'm up." Lester called out in the room. Looking up from where she was working, Nadia saw Lester standing in the entrance of the room. Judging by how Lester was standing and where he was standing, he seemed hesitant to come into the room.
"It's alright, Lester. I'm not doing anything dangerous. Come in." Nadia said in response. If it weren't for Nadia's almost emotionless voice, Nadia wouldn't have seemed so harsh or cold. Despite this, Lester took the initiative and proceeded into the Nadia's work area. After all, it's not as if Nadia would intentionally burn Lester with a welding tool.

"Eh?" Koishi looked up to see John. "Oh, you're what I ran into."

Koishi took John's hand and pulled herself up. "What ARE you doing here? We're in the middle of preparing to fight an angel of death and his minions."

Sometimes when you're driving down a road, a bug hits your windshield. It's ugly and unpleasant, but you just activate the wipers / cleaning fluid and it's gone in a few seconds. It's just part of driving down the road. You don't dwell on it, because that'd be silly. Bugs aren't worth the time.

You just discard their guts and keep on driving.

"여기 있습니다, 손님." The Korean waiter promptly returned with a glass of vodka and a crisp piece of paper with series of number written on it.

Perfect, Jinx thought as she took both. Dismissed, the waiter departed, leaving Jinx alone again. But this time she had people to grill. Pulling out her pink Samsung Photon, she dialed the number written on the paper and called.

A phone began ringing, emitting a sharp shrilling ring every 2 seconds.

Kappa Mine - The Dark Blowhole - Gensokyo

"Can that vehicle fit down here?" Yamame questioned as she tested the weight of the ore. "How large is the vehicle? Maybe we can bring the vehicle up to a mine branch and use Kisume's elevator system to carry it to the branch."

Max looked at Yamame as he thought. "Steve should be able to fit down here. If not then we could always get it to a nearby branch if needed. Or at least to surface level. I think it would be safer to get this to a much larger branch and use the elevator to carry it. Once we do that then we really shouldn't have a problem!" Max said as he looked at the ore.

"Though I don't want to do it unless we really have to... and Steve is only about the size of a modern day civilian transport vehicle... or a car as you might call it... So he might not fit in this branch..."

"Then let's try this." Yamame said as she hopped over to one of the strange holes. "Kisume!"

From the hole jetted down a wooden bucket with a green-haired girl in it. The girl wore her hair in double ponytail across the sides, and wore a white kimono similar to a bathrobe.

"What's up?" Kisume greeted.

"Kappas sent a guy to gather the Cobaltine Ore for their project." Yamame greeted back as she stepped away and headed to the ore vein. Kisume the bucket girl unhinged a lever and began gliding through the thick strings all across the chamber's ceiling. "But we need the ore up to the surface so that they can use something called Ridebot or whatever to carry it back up the Kappa Village."

"You don't need to say anything more." Kisume nodded as she fiddled in her bucket. The ground began to rumble as the ceiling began giving way, revealing a large gaping hole and a larger-than-life wooden bucket hanging by heavy-duty elastic copper rope.

Max was surprised when Kisume came down, and after her exchange with Yamame the ceiling gave away revealing a large lift system with a... incredibly large wooden bucket. Max had seen some pretty interesting stuff in his world, but so far this kind of tops most of the stuff he had seen.

"Whoa that was pretty cool. I guess I'll call in Steve. Also it's a Ridepod not Ridebot." Max said as he took out a weird radio/phone looking device. It looked like a strange mix between a blue radio, and the bells on an old style alarm clock. Max took the device as he pushed a few buttons. After a few minutes of doing nothing the device began to ring intensely as the Ridepod was quickly deployed. The young Mechanic then turned to Yamame and Kisume as he put the device away. "So looks like my Ridepod is on it's way right now. I'd say give it about five or so minutes before it gets here."

"So, what you doing in here?" Lester asked. "Seems like you got your 'ands full." Nadia gave a sigh in response and stood up from where she was.
"Well, if you must know. I'm trying to figure out how those combustion engines work. If I can get these to work then I can get a better understanding of this world's engineering and technology. It appears these engines are what the people here use. It's rather strange considering how much better plasma engines are... Can they not harness plasma energy?" Nadia explained. Despite her explanation, Nadia then began to sidetrack and comment on usage of engines or something like that. Lester wasn't completely sure. He was kind of stumped as soon as Nadia said combustion. Nadia continued to sidetrack and complain about all manner of things. This continued until-

RIIIIIIIIIING!

A loud ringing sound could be heard within the workroom. One that sounded like an old telephone. How it was still working Lester wasn't sure. Regardless, the ringing was getting on his nerves and he began to search for the phone. Looking around, Lester found the phone mounted on one of the walls on the other end of the room. Located near a desk and some... machinery, there was an old phone that could been from the 1970's. Lester promptly picked up to see as to who might be calling. From all he knew, it was either a wrong number or someone that still believed that this garage was still up and running.
"Hello?" Lester spoke into the phone's receiver.

"Call him up the surface." Yamame said as she held the ore vein up... Or attempted to anyway. Even with Youkai super strength, Yamame could only lift the ore vein up about 2 feet.

"Okay looks like it's heavier than it looks." Yamame let go of the ore to catch her breath. Then she ordered the Kappa miners resting about to help her lift the ore.

"So uh..." Kisume asked Max out of curiosity. "How did you come to Gemsokyo? Yukari?"

"Bonjoir, this is Madame von You-Guys-Suckerino." The caller jested, putting on a faux-French accent before leading into an uncontrollable laughter that could only be from one person: Jinx. "Hahaha, what's up, knuckleheads? I just wanted to call to know if you guys were still alive. I mean, I did leave you guys pretty devastated there."

Kappa Mine - The Dark Blowhole - Gensokyo

"Okay. I don't think Steve would come down here unless I drove it. My Ridepod can only do simple commands. If it comes across a pit it will stop. Anyways uh... Kisume I just kinda walked here after hearing of Gensokyo and the Kappa Village. Well first I flew to Japan. Then I began wandering around the forests until I stumbled across Gensokyo. Then I immediately began searching for the Kappa Village which thanks to a few villagers I had found it. Now I kind of work with... or in this case for the Kappa's. I know it's kind of... uh...what's the word?" Max said as he thought for the word he was going to say... it was on the tip of his tongue, but he couldn't think of it...

Steve is about 4 minutes away.
