When the Gauss Rifle round was fired at Dust's direction and broken part of the top of the crate Dust let out a loud scream of fear as she was being pelted by wooden fragments, and packing peanuts. Frightened Dust's security back-up system had activated.
The small devices in place of her arms began to emit a very thick smokescreen of smoke and a bit of dust, blinding almost any guard without proper eye protection. As this happened Dust quickly stood up and began running for the nearest door, the door to the armory while the smoke continued to fill the room...

Meanwhile Carbon continued to knock through each and every security lock-down door, nearing the room Jason, Sidna, and Dust are in with each passing second.
Armory - Area 51 - Nevada
In the armory the small monitor next to Jason's armor capsule began to flash of the icon signature of Dave went to static. A small surge of electricity went through the electronic locks, completely unlocking Jason's suit and weapons...
As the room began to fill up with smoke, the guard quickly switched his scope to its infrared setting and found Dust again as she ran for the locked door. As Dust neared the door, the guard lined up his sights with the side of her head and began to pull the trigger.
Meanwhile, as Jason slowly made his way through the room, searching for the guard, he heard Dust scream in fear. In that very moment, Jason held his breath in fear as he thought about Dust being found and possibly killed. As soon as Jason turned around, he saw a large billow of smoke in her general direction. Not only that, he could also see the guard on top of a crate, readying his Gauss Rifle for another shot. In that very moment, Jason quickly raised his MP5 and fired at the guard.
In that very moment, the guard's concentration was broken, causing him to sway his gun to the right and pull the trigger. The hypersonic bullet flew through the air at Mach 5, blowing through the smoke in the air. Just then, a large puff of air flew into Dust's face as the bullet passed a mere 3 inches from her face, blowing a large chunk out of the ground as the bullet his the ground.
The bullets Jason had fired hit the guard in the arm and shoulder, but didn't kill him. Reacting quickly, the guard dropped his Gauss Rifle and quickly grabbed the XM-25 hanging from his side. Jason's eyes widened in shock and slight fear as he saw the weapon. He knew that he needed to make a dash for the guard now, or else he would be killed. With that in mind, Jason sprinted towards the guard as fast as he could, firing at the guard as he did so. As Jason fired a barrage of bullets from his MP5 and HK415, the guard fired the XM-25, sending an airbursting 25mm grenade towards Jason before being killed by the barrage of bullets. Jason saw the grenade, but could not react fast enough to evade it. As soon as the grenade passed by Jason, a loud bang echoed throughout the room. Chunks of shrapnel flew down at Jason, piercing the torn straightjacket and embedding themselves into his skin as he fell to the ground. After the explosion, the room was silent.

As Dust was rushing to the door she heard a loud bang from behind her, and almost immediately she turned around in fear.
"Nononononono... no please don't be dead please don't,,," She muttered as she slowed backed up to the armory door in fear that Jason was killed in the smoke. "You can't be dead... you just can't... you promised me you wouldn't die... please... no no no no no no no no no..." She kept muttering as she curled up into fetal position, tears filling her eyes and streaming down her cheeks as she thought that the worst had happened to Jason.
Jack & Drake's Cabin Koishi simply nodded at Jack. "All three of them. Just be careful out there. Something's afoot."
Sometimes when you're driving down a road, a bug hits your windshield. It's ugly and unpleasant, but you just activate the wipers / cleaning fluid and it's gone in a few seconds. It's just part of driving down the road. You don't dwell on it, because that'd be silly. Bugs aren't worth the time.
"I'm getting out of here... We're getting out of here."
"I'm useless... I'll just slow you down..."
"To be honest, I don't care if you would slow me down or not. I'm still going to get you out of here."
Trust me when I say this, we're going to make it out alive, I promise.
"I... I-I just don't want you to die... Y-You promised me..."
Jason woke up with a slight gasp as he opened his eyes. His vision was blurred and everything sounded muffled, but he was still alive, albeit barely. He felt his consciousness quickly slipping away again, along with what little life he had left. He didn't know how long he had, but he didn't think he had very much time. He tried to move, but he could barely do so. The best he could to was slowly move his body across the ground as he tried to find something to prop himself up against. After a moment, he propped himself up against a nearby crate and breathed heavily as he tried to find the strength to keep going. He knew that Dust was counting on him, and he knew that they would both die if they were caught. He needed to move not only for his sake, but hers as well. He promised her that they would both get out of this base alive, and right now, she needed him.
(And that is a promise I will keep.), Jason thought as he took a deep breath and slowly forced himself back to a stand, using the create as a means to prop himself upright.
After a couple of minutes, Jason, made his way to the Armory door and saw Dust laying there, curled up next to the door. It was a little hard to see her amidst the blood in his eyes from his headwound, along with his deteriorating vision, but he could still identify her.
"Come on. We need to keep moving.", Jason said to Dust in a strained tone as he leaned against a crate beside him.

As Jason spoke up to Dust she looked up at him with a look of relief, but it quickly faded after she saw how badly Jason was doing.
He was covered in quite a bit of wounds... and was losing a bit of blood... he... could die... Dust got saddened by this, and didn't speak up in fear of what Jason might say in return. Whether it be good or bad she felt like talking would not be such a good idea, and as such she sat back down looking a bit scared to do anything at the moment due to Jason's condition. However just as she was a bout to sit down the door behind her that led to the armory opened up mysteriously, as though someone other than Sidna had opened it via hacking.
The door to the armory is now open...
Jack & Drake's Cabin
"Okay now I'll be right back!" Jack yelled as he put on his coat, running outside into the forest with his rifle he began calling out for Drake in an attempt to try and find him... unknown as to what he is about to encounter.
Jason could see the fear in Dust's eyes, and to be honest, he didn't blame her. To be honest, Jason was a little afraid that he would die before they could even escape the facility. Of course, he didn't let his fears show, especially since he needed to be strong for the both of them. Instead of speaking, Jason slowly walked over towards the now open armory door, almost falling over in the process. Each step took an incredible amount of effort, and Jason's energy felt like it was draining with every step. By the time Jason made it to the doorway, he needed to lean up against the frame just to remain conscious. After a couple of seconds of Jason heavily breathing, trying to compensate for what he could only guess was a collapsed lung, he looked over to Dust and spoke.
"Follow me... I know where the armor is.", Jason weakly said as he forced himself to walk inside.
Dust did not respond... she just sat there... motionless for a few minutes with her face hidden by her knees as she got into fetal position. However after a minute Dust did speak... in a rather depressing and monotone voice.
"Just go on without me..." She said in an oddly harsh tone like she gave up completely already. By the tone of her voice one could tell that she was not going to change her mind at all... Jason had little to no choice but to go on ahead into the armory unless he actually wishes to try and force Dust to come with him...
After Dust spoke, Jason turned his body over to her, albeit with some difficulty. The wounds Jason had sustained were horrific, yet he was still somehow able to stand with aid from the wall. Despite his injuries. it seemed as if Jason's will had not dwindled at all. In fact, it seemed as if it was strengthened by Dust giving up.
"Dust, I need your help for this. I need to get to the armor station, but I can't without at least a little bit of help. I just need you to help guide me to the station. Can you do that?", Jason asked Dust somewhat weakly as he leaned up against the door pane.

Dust just sat there as she listened to Jason. Even though she did not wish to she got up and walked over to the injured soldier. She then wrapped her artificial tail around Jason, then tightened its grip around his chest for support. "Just hold onto my life support device..." She said as she waited for Jason to lean against it, her tail used to help keep Jason from falling, and the device to help him walk.
