Trinity Soul University - En root to Orientation.

As the duo left the dorm building, the vampire raised her hood and unwillingly pressed on back into the unforgiving rays of the sun. It didn't wasn't long before their quiet walk was shattered by words. Trista seemed curious or concerned about something, but she never seemed to ask what she really wanted to know. The vampire could only assume it had something to do with either her power or her history. Seki was a bit curious about her roomate's magic but she was much more so about her past. What had caused her to be in such a state. Was she sheltered all her life? had she been abused or neglected? maybe she was actual royalty and she was hiding the truth to help her blend in better? Whatever the case Seki didn't mind waiting to learn more about her. Time means little to an immortal being.

Seki honestly couldn't comprehend why Trista worried so much. Having lived very care free and confident her whole life, Trista's perspective was beyond the vampire's reach. or at least until they got to know each other better. Lunch would be the perfect time to do so. "I can see when you shake, hear when your heart speeds up, if i concentrate hard enough I can tell when you lie. But thats nothing compared to what the ancient vampire's are capable of. The ones that have lived for thousands of years, they probably still see me as an infant. But i'll surpass them in the next hundred years or so."

Trinity Soul University - En route to Orientation

Keeping close to her vampiric roommate, Trista couldn't help but notice as to how much Seki seemed to be keeping tabs on her. Walking from the corridors of the Female Dorms, Seki began to explain as to how much of Trista she could sense. Trista's accelerated heart rate, her breathing, and her shaking. Even her lies. Trista didn't know whether to feel afraid of Seki's abilities or curious of them. They were unusual and something of a curiosity. But it was something that could be used against her and other people. The ability to sense another's vitals and to tell when one is lying. Those powers could easily be used to help people but it be also used for malicious acts. This made Trista even more worried, if anything. But in Seki's speech, she revealed that due to her age, she was perceived to be very young in vampiric terms. But it was what Seki afterwards that had Trista confused.

"A... A-a few... hundred years?" Trista asked. "What... What do you...? What do you m-mean?" In her mixed emotion of fear, shame, and other emotions, Trista's voice had become much more silent and hesitant.

Trinity Soul University - En root to Orientation.

It didn't take long for Seki to locate the area in which the school's orientation was to take place. There were already a lot of people there so the smell and the sound coming from the area where a dead give away. There were way too many people there for Seki to listen in to any specific conversation or sniff at a certain cent, but they were defiantly there. The first thing to cross Seki's mind was how Trista would react to such a crowd when she already seemed to be in such a nervous state. To make matters worse, Seki's conversation with Trista seemed to have only worsened her state. It was as if Seki's comment surprised or worried her. Sure it makes sense that learning your new room mate can hear your vitals but surely she already knew this right? And then it hit her.

"Ah i see now. You know very little about vampires don't you? Setsumei shite agemasu. My family... if you can call it that, is one of the oldest and most powerful vampire clans in the world. I may be young but I'm no child. I may have a lot to learn but my mind is sharp and my tongue sharper still. I'm the youngest of my 24 siblings, and yet even though my brothers and sisters are hundreds, some even thousands of years older than i am. Father chose me, at the age of 15 to be his successor. In the short 18 years I've existed, I've surpassed all my siblings. In the Next hundred, I'll surpass my own father."

The duo grew ever closer to their destination as Seki finished her rant of an explanation. Having been cought up in her own words she failed to notice Trista's reactions for a while. It wasn't until after her explanation that she realised the topic might be a bit too intense for the young girl. Having cooled down from her previous topic, Trista reminded of something important. Seki frowned, but her frown slowly turned into a smile. She even let out a small joyful laugh. "But you know. If I were mortal like you, i wouldn't need to become that powerful. I envy you."

Trinity Soul University — Female Dorms (Room 110A)

The dormitory building was anything but quiet. Sounds of doors slamming echoed up and down the halls as the inhabitants of the dorm rushed out to make it to orientation in time. Everyone in sight was in a hurry, all except for one girl. With a slight frown on her face, this girl stood in front of a closed door marked with a placard that read "110A". Her hand rested on the doorknob, clenched tightly, yet she didn't open the door; unfazed with the commotion around her, she seemed occupied with something else. With straight black hair and a cute yet unassuming outfit, the petite girl didn't stand out much at all. This girl was Miyu Hisakawa.

After a moment of hesitation, Miyu let out a quick "Shitsurei shimasu" before turning the handle and entering the dorm room, half-expecting to see a roommate on her way out. The dorm room was deserted. Miyu moved to set her luggage on what she decided was her side of the room, letting out a quick sigh. Not worried about unpacking, she checked her bag to make sure she had what she needed. Miyu wouldn't be able to ask her roommates where Orientation was, but that would be kind of redundant considering everyone else was headed there. She picked up her bag and headed for the door, pausing before leaving. With a quick twitch of her nose, she muttered under her breath, "Is that a dog? I hate dogs..." before going on her way.

            Campus | Trinity Soul University

In the midst of the emptiness between the area where Orientation will take place and the dormitories, a strange, blonde girl wearing a really royal dress stood around looking very lost and confused, but also in awe. Next to the girl was an even stranger black skeleton skulking around, twitching and looking around as if he was protecting the girl next to him.

"This place is fascinating, father." The girl said to the skeleton, who apparently was her father.

"Damn the Daichis, they've really improved this place, huh? Last time I've visited the campus, it was a mess." The skeleton said in a raspy voice. "I wonder if they still do the Orientation."

"What's Orientation, father?" The girl asked, truly ignorant of the definition.

The skeleton's turquoise cross across his skull glistened. "In Orientation, senior students lead a group of 20 or so freshmen students around the campus, explaining what each facility does and laying down the rules. Since the campus grew in size ever since I was attending this school, I'll assume that the tour will take a lot longer than what we had to go through."

"How long did the tour take for you, father?" The girl asked in confusion.

"An hour." The skeleton indifferently blurted out, then added a quick sigh. "Anyway, we really need to find where the Orientation is taking place. Damn me and my forgetfulness."

Trinity Soul University — En route to orientation

Miyu let out a soft sigh. Though she was amazed by the natural beauty of the campus around Trinity Soul University, she had the unsettling feeling of being lost. By now she was just going with the flow, taking brief mental notes on the location of the various landmarks she saw around campus. Still, the beauty combined with the convenience of the campus made her wonder why her mother would want to keep her from coming here. Though the state of affairs with the family back home were looking bleak for Miyu, she was determined to live up to her family's name.

Suddenly realizing she had been lost in thought, Miyu had lost track of where she was headed. She stopped in place to see where the group she had been following went off to. "I can't believe this. It's only my first day and I'm gonna be late." She said to herself in a low voice. Contemplating transforming into a cat to cover more ground, she started to panic before she saw a strange pair not far away. There stood a blonde girl in a fancy dress, and oddly enough, a black skeleton seemed to be moving of its own accord next to her. Miyu found it unsettling, but she saw no other choice but to approach the girl and ask for directions.

"H-hey!" She called out in a faltering voice to the unusual pair. She wasn't sure she was heard, so she called out again. "Hey! I'm trying to find the orientation site!" She yelled out as loud as she could. Walking towards the regal looking girl and her animated skeleton, Miyu couldn't help but be filled with a foreboding feeling.

Trinity Soul University - En route to Orientation

In many ways, Seki was correct about Trista in regards to the little girl's knowledge of vampires. Prior to meeting Seki, Trista didn't even know that vampires truly exist nor did she even know of their capabilities. Trista's knowledge of the nocturnal beings were sorely limited to that of the layman's interpretation of a vampire. Despises sunlight, drink blood, nocturnal, undead or nigh immortal. It would only make sense that a girl like Trista would not have known. This was especially true considering as to how little Trista even knew of magic or supernaturals. Everything magical that graced Trista's ears were new words to her. Facts that she did not even know and concepts that she didn't think were possible.

Through explaining Seki's own bloodline and background explained to her, Trista quickly learned that Seki was the youngest of numerous vampiric siblings. Some decades or centuries older than that of young Seki. But, despite this age gap, it was Seki herself that was chosen as the heir to her family fortune and bloodline. One that consisted of rulership over a large and very powerful vampire clan. These facts hit Trista hard. Seki, her new roommate and potential partner for the majority of her time in this university, was heiress to a gilded and bloodied throne over a legion of powerful vampires. And despite all this, despite Seki's fate of power and rulership of her vampire kin, Seki still envied a simple girl like Trista. Of all people, her. Trista had no idea what to think. She was but a simple mage with very little special to her. A mage who bore a set of powers that Trista still refused to practice. A girl who, for the most part, could not even hold her ground. Fleeing or cowering when threatened or scared. To think that Seki had the gall to say that in regards to someone who was clearly inferior to her. Trista didn't know what to think at all.

"I... I-I don't know..." Trista said, "I-I mean... what do...? W-What do I have that... that you'd w-want? You're... You're better than me in... i-in every way. You can even show your powers to others and... and... a-and perform amazing things. Whereas I... I..." But shortly after beginning to speak, Trista once again struggled to find the right words to say. In the back of her mind, she knew that she was incapable of showing her powers to other people. In some ways, it was out of fear, but she had other reasons. Reasons that Trista didn't wish to explain. And besides, what good was it to explain something which, inevitably, Seki already knew? It only made sense. But at the same time, Trista insisted on trying to get her point across, albeit failing miserably.

Trinity Soul University - En route to Orientation (Main Building)

The two girls reached the gate to the main entrance and the vampire was hidden from the rays of the sun yet again. Hey dead body was visibly more relaxed once inside the shade of the main building, as though a heavy weight had been lifted off her shoulders. Nearing ever closer to orientation, they were at least close enough for regular human to hear the many voices echoing from down the halls. The air was much cooler inside as felt by what could only be air conditioning. Or maybe the head master kept a bunch of ice mage's prisoner inside the basement?

As Trista tripped over her own words, all Seki could think about was getting orientation over with so she and her room mate could have a some time to relax. Seki's day thus far had been very busy and chaotic. While the vampire had enjoyed the chaos for the most part, she had very little time to meditate on the many events that occurred in such a short amount of time. Se was also eager to start her classes. Learning was always her strong point and the sooner she learnd to control her magic the better. "Hey i know you have a lot of questions but perhaps we can talk more over lunch. It's probably best we pay attention for now."

Lynne promptly followed Cecilia out the door, her sketchpad open as if Lynne was about to draw something. Drawing was her preferred way of communicating, since she could put much more detail into what she wanted to say than hand gestures ever could.

"..." Lynne quickly sketched a map of Trinity Soul University in response to Cecilia's comment about not knowing where to go for Orientation. The map was simple, yet it had every major areas and buildings labeled in calligraphy. What was more impressive was that Lynne drew this in under 3 seconds.

"..." Lynne displayed the map to Cecilia with a circle around the main entrance area, where every freshmen are currently amassing for the Orientation.

The blond girl in a dress heard someone call out for her and turned around. Prowling towards her was a black-haired girl, about hand-and-a-half shorter than the blond, shouting about how she is lost as well.

"Hello." The blond girl bowed regally. The black skeleton followed as well, his bow awkward because of how bony he was. "Unfortunately we too are a bit lost as well."

"We're not lost." The black skeleton added quite hastily. "Or... at least I'm not. I just forgot."

The blond girl laughed as she saw another two figures walking down the campus road: a brunette and another black-haired, both girls with two opposite mood. The brunette spread cheerfulness and happiness wherever she trodded, while the black-haired just exuded sinister and evil aura like a demon.

"Do you think they might know, father?" The blond girl asked the skeleton, who had to 'squint', if skeletons could, to clearly see the two figures.

"I won't guarantee it, my child." The skeleton hypothesized. "But they look like they have a clear destination in mind. They aren't wandering, nor are they really looking around wildly. I'd suggest we ask them."

"Very well, father." The blond nodded and called out to the two students. "Excuse me, ma'ams!"

Cecilia looked at the map, smiling. "Alright! Let's-" Just as she was about to continue, she heard another voice call out to Lynne and herself. "Huh, I think they're calling us over. We should probably go help, since you drew such a fantastic map~" She smiled, happily skipping over to blond who had called them over. 'Ah, hopefully this'll be quick... Hah, I should have released the energy already, I don't want to get grumpy or dark suddenly..' she thought, her smile wavering.

Arriving at the small group, Cecilia waved with a friendly atmosphere. "Hi~! Do you guys need help? The two of us are new students but my friend here has a map! If anything, we'd be happy to help, right Lynne?" She looked to the smaller girl with a smile, rubbing her pin. "Oh, right, Lynne doesn't speak, how silly of me to forget something like that. I'm Cecilia Leblanc, by the way, nice to meet you three!" She acknowledged the black skeleton, knowing it would be quite rude not to include it in the conversation as it obviously wasn't just a normal sack of bones. However, Cecilia was trying her best to seem like she wasn't worried, though she was actually quite worried. 'If I don't prick my finger soon, I don't know how I'll be able to stand through orientation.. I hope Lynne won't mind, or these others, if I really have to do it soon..' her thoughts were a tangled mess. Of course, she couldn't resist at least attempting to make new friends.

Miyu introduced herself to the group, exchanging pleasantries. "Miyu Hisakawa here, pleased to meet everyone. Shall we be on our way?"

Following closely behind, Miyu noted that Cecilia and Lynne both smelled of blood. She had heard of blood magic before in literature club, but to her understanding it was becoming increasingly rare to see people with the ability. Still, Miyu was a bit of a rarity herself. Nonetheless, she felt strangely at ease in this group, knowing that for once she wasn't the only one with a supernatural ability.

Miyu eyed the blonde girl leading the group with interest. Wearing a fancy dress and accompanied by the undead, she referred to the skeleton as her father. Yet Miyu was perplexed; she didn't smell of death like she assumed most necromancers would. Moreover, she had a royal air about her. Unsure of how to approach her, Miyu hesitantly asked, "U-um, miss? Is that skeleton really your father? How curious..."

In their conversation, Trista couldn't help but look at her immediate surroundings as the duo passed by. From the enclosed dormitories, to the open campus of the university, and the Main Building; Trista saw people pacing in and around the campus. While a large portion of individuals were taking their own paths, some to their dorms and others to an assortment of onsite locations, Trista noticed that an increasing number of people taking the same paths as that of her and Seki. Groups of people of various backgrounds, races, and magical specialities; all walking towards the same spot to learn the ropes of the university. And yet here was this little duo, the vampiric girl of darkness, Seki, and the innocent and shy human who barely even knew her own powers.

In the midst of their conversation, Seki promptly halted Trista in her stuttering. As Trista had already confirmed, it was clear that Seki knew of what was racing through the young girl's mind. And to that extent, instead of having the two girls talk it over while they approached their destination for Orientation, Seki suggested that the girls would instead hold off until after both Orientation had concluded and after Trista had met with the Headmaster. This sudden interruption and suggestion from Seki caught Trista off guard and even made her jump a little in surprise.
"Oh... O-ok, Seki..." Trista responded, "I... I-I understand..."

Before long, Trista began to realise something. As the girls wandered, Trista couldn't help but notice that Seki clearly had no clue as to where Orientation was taking place. If Trista knew anything, the Orientation was to take place outside of the Main Building. Specifically in front of the building where the two girls were when Seki was collecting her bags.
"Um... S-Seki? Are you...? A-Are you sure you... know where we're... supposed to be going?" Trista asked her vampire of a roommate.

Crossing her arms the vampire closed her eyes and tilted her head down for a moment before answering. "It's just outside. Same area where you first spoke to the headmaster. What a pity, i'm all out of elf blood. I was hoping the clouds would give us a bit of shade before we had to head back outside but I suppose I'll have to grin and bear it." Seki opened her eyes again and took a look at the sky through the window. Seki could hear everything clearly from where she stood but her room mate probably couldn't. Under normal circumstances Seki would have stayed put and listened in from inside the building, but she couldn't leave little Trista all on her own. Just didn't seem right. "Really hope she appropriates this." Seki thought to herself. "Hope i'm not bothering you with all this complaining. Usually it wouldn't be this big of a problem but I've already spent the better part of this day burning in the sunlight. It's not good for my skin."

"Of course I am." The skeleton answered instead, quickly cutting off the girl's attempt at speaking. "Verrena my child, where are your manners! Introduce yourself properly!"

"Ah, right!" The girl, named Verrena, nodded. "Good morning to you, my name is Verrena Hansburg, and-"

"And I am Lord Amos Alexander Hansburg the third of the glorious Hansburg family. Surely you all have heard of it!" The skeleton named Amos pronounced himself triumphantly.

"..." Lynne was silent as she lead the suddenly enlarged group to the destination, which was close enough to be in plain sight: a crowd of students waiting for the staff to begin the orientation. It was almost time: 2 minutes before 10 AM, and the older students helping with the event seemed to be waiting around for someone to arrive. Lynne quietly pointed at the crowd to denote it as their destination.
