I was thinking the same thing. They seem to fit his personality description.
I was going to have John use it a bit.
He was going to get to know Yukari better, visit Yuuka like he promised, and visit Rinnosuke's shop.
There was also the Yumeko situation. (May Shikieiki have mercy on John's soul.:p)
Other than that, We should be able to take care of the rest of the characters.
You seem best for portraying the characters you've done.
About your new character, I was thinking of having John comment that she's probably from Gensokyo.
It makes sense, and I can only imagine her confusion. "Gens-what?":p
