    Orientation | Trinity Soul University

"..." Lynne silently observed everything that went on. To be perfectly honest she didn't want to get into a full-fledged battle against another student; much less someone who would later be a friend of hers. But her adversary was genuinely looking to shed blood, and for the greater good she needed to be put down.

Gaunix raised his giant battle staff and slammed it down with such force that it caused the ground to quake. Verrena however leapt to the side with ease and countered the attempt by performing multiple slashes across Gaunix's huge forearm before tumbling backwards to dodge another swing. Her eyes glimmered with delight as she jumped forward, aiming for the crevice across the obsidian warrior's face, but was repelled back by Gaunix, who pushed her away with his spiky shoulders. Verrena was sent flying until she recovered and stopped her in mid-flight before launching herself back into the fray.

    "Alright, that's done."

Elkana wiped off the sweat that formed on her forehead. While she was invulnerable by time, she was still susceptible to temporal wounds and exhaustion. As she let go of the telekinetic force that bound her to a little sheet of metal to place it, she looked up to find that everything was in order.

Standing before her was a giant tower that reminisced of a grandfather clock. It hummed and pulsated in gold hue, noting to Elkana that it was functional and working in order.

"It's been awhile since I put this gadget again." Elkana commented as she approached the tower, or particularly the control center at one side of it. She took a breath, and pulled the lever.

      Trinity Soul University - Orientation

Despite Seki's efforts to keep Trista out of danger and safe, Trista simply did not listen. As Seki tried to get through to the little girl, Trista's mind and thoughts were completely clouded. Incapable of processing anything that was happening right now. For as much as Seki tried to get the little girl to safety and away from danger, Trista refused to move from her position. Away from her roommate. Not that Trista wanted to remain in danger. On top of everything, Trista wished to be safe and sound. But amongst her panic, Trista did not how exactly to deal with said panic. All that flooded her mind were thoughts of terror. The feeling that Trista's days were numbered and that all she could do was cower in fear and pray that nothing would happen to her. If she stayed or got involved, Trista knew that she could have easily got caught in cross-fire. Caught between the blades of the two combatants. But if she left, Trista would have nowhere to go except to her own room. Separated from her roommate and away from the Orientation.

Despite her unwillingness to move at all, Trista did do something other than merely cower in fear. In a rush of both fear and desperation, Trista quickly rushed over to Seki's side and firmly wrapped her small arms around her roommate. The girl didn't know why she did so. But to her, it was the only thing she could do, amidst the chaos that was unfolding before her.
"Seki..." Trista cried out amongst her soft and fearful whimpers, "I... I-I'm scared..."
Smash through the blocks that bar your way; No time for fear, just let it all fall away; Nobody believes in me and you, Just look at the way they stare; So what if we live in a walled garden, As long as I've got you then I don't care!

        Trinity Soul University - Orientation

Ignoring Sonya´s desire to stay, Kris ran towards the conmotion, her senses could feel the heat of the battle and the fear of one of the people involved. She was already using her magic to prepare a distraction for all th people within the area as her breath got colder to the point of showing visible air. The wolf looked at the golem and the two females, one had the scent of the undead while the other one had of a human, noticing that the human stood by the undead´s side, the wolf guessed they were on the same side against the other person.

Taking a deep breath, the redhead made a powerful stomp on the floor "Enough! This isn´t a place for fighting" and with that, she released her magic in the form of a thick snow bank on top of all of them by lifting her arms and letting it drop, if it didn´t cause any way of stopping the fight, it would be just enough to distract them from it

As soon as she pulled the lever, Elkana knew something was wrong. The clock tower, which is a mid-range arcane energy emitter that SHOULD react with several energy crystals in the campus to make a sort of arcane fireworks, was overreacting. Why? Elkana did all the calculations; and her calculations are usually flawless, and yet this...

Elkana tried to add an inhibition spell to the tower's reactor, but it was too dangerous to even do anything to the reactor without causing a giant arcane supernova that could be dangerous to the mortals on the surface. Instead, Elkana pressed the discharge button next to the lever to prematurely let go of the energy that is building up inside the crystal. Before the device could be put to overdrive and explode, the arcane energy that was building up inside the reactor spouted upwards: a crimson light piercing the ceiling and possible through the surface.

Elkana sighed and watched the energy spear last for several more seconds before fading away. When the light was completely gone, she couldn't help but say, "...oops."

"...!" Lynne was grateful for the intervention, although she didn't expect the heavy amount of snow falling on her without warning. Before she could react, the thick layer of snow piled on her, completely omitting her from everyone's vision. Gaunix was immediately unsummoned as soon as Lynne was crippled.

Verrena meanwhile covered herself with her overly large sword. The blanket of snow was not enough to cool the heat of battle Verrena felt, but with no one in her sight, her sadistic manner quickly subsided.

"...oh, not again." Verrena, her voice a lot kinder now, sighed in disappointment. "I... I'm sorry everyone. For some reason whenever I see blood, I go a little bit rowdy-"

Before Verrena could finish her apology, however, a giant beam of crimson energy suddenly pierced from the ground to the sky. The beam of energy crackled and made a very loud fizzing sound, but it didn't seem to hurt anybody as Verrena was literally standing right inside the energy. Nothing happened to her, but she was surprised so much that she leapt out of the beam and ran towards Cecilia for cover. Amos followed, not because he was scared like Verrena but more so because he needed to protect her.

Cecilia's eyes widened, as Seki gently drank some of her blood from her small cut. "A-Ah, okay. Well, please don't hurt anyone-!" She blinked, taking a few steps forward, wobbling a little, holding a hand out. "C-come on, now's the time to learn..." Watching her two friends fighting, her frown became more apparent. She screeched as Lynne was covered in snow, reaching out to him. "Please stop-!!!!" The wobbly brunette was cut off by a giant beam of crimson, almost as crimson as her own blood. The beam reached into the sky, endlessly. Verrena had run to Cecilia, who's eyes were wide and her face was streaked with tears. "Lynne!!" She fell to her knees, clutching her head with both hands. "This is my fault, they said I was dangerous... They were right, I can't control it, it causes problems... Someone help me..." Cecilia's blood was building up inside of her again quickly, he eyes tearing up. "It's so dark in my mind, someone help..."

Kris´ instincts could sense many emotions from the different people of the group, but the most recent one was of deep distress and turmoil, she acted with slow steps towards the girl who was holding her head "It is all right, you just have to calm down, it is no one´s fault" she started saying soothing words to the girl "Whatever happened can be solved with some peace and talking, just relax" she continued putting her hand on the girl´s shoulder as she lowered herself to be at the same eye level as the girl who was in tears

Seki was brought to a stand still while she stood there. With little Trista's arms around her slender body, the vampire could do little to keep the two girls safe. A thousand thoughts crossed her mind as she tried to think of some way to stop all the fighting but to no avail. However just as things seemed most grim, another girl stepped in and demanded they stop the violence. A thick layer of snow quickly covered the duo, and while this would do very little to stop them, It did seem to get their attention. The girl in the dress seemed to COOL DOWN from the downpour and regain some self control. The other girl seemed to fall silent. She couldn't' t possibly be dead from just a bit of snow but what caused her to go down?

Regardless, the conflict seemed to have ended without anyone getting hurt to badly. Seki took a sight of relief and placed her hand atop little Trista's head. "It's alright, you're safe now." She said in a calm voice as she looked on towards this new girl who had successfully broken up the fight with a single spell. She was a wolf or a dog girl with long red hair. She seemed as graceful as she was kind. The way she knelt down to help Cecilia was very reassuring. Of cores it was Seki's fault she was in such a poor state to begin with. Feeling responsible for the girl's poor state, the vampire had to do something to make it up her. But she decided to wait until she had calmed down first, fearing that if she said anything now it would only worsen her state.

It had been at least a minute before Andrew had finally managed to catch up to Trista, and thank god he took longer than needed. Even if he was a few seconds earlier, he would have witnessed a pretty scary fight between two other students. Something he is not or will be ready to witness anytime soon. Though as he finally caught up with Trista he found himself just on the border of getting into a conversation, if not confrontation with other people that he is just not wanting to happen just yet. As such he just shyly holds his shoulder with his hand as he takes a few steps back, trying not to interrupt or get himself caught in this current situation.

However another thing he was not expecting startled him greatly. As he was slowly and quietly backing up he bumped into something... or someone. At that moment Andrew immediately turned around to apologize, but before he could the sight just scared the ever living hell out of him. A woman in a nurse's outfit with cold, pale if not slightly dead looking, yet incredibly stable skin stood there before him. Though what was most tramuatizing was the fact that her head was... not on her head! In fact the woman's head was being held in the hands of the headless body, with the head having long, straight, navy blue hair, red eyes, and a surgical mask over her mouth. Upon seeing this headless... nurse, Andrew's face turned a ghostly white due to fear and shock as the headless woman's head spoke.

"Uh... hi." The woman bluntly spoke as at that moment Andrew let out quite possibly, the loudest scream of terror he has ever let out before.

"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH" Andrew yelled, and would continue to yell in fear until he either passes out due to lack of oxygen, or someone else stops him.

The headless nurse's head just simply stared at him blankly, almost as if this has happened before.

In time, the sounds of steel and stone clashing died down. To Trista's delicate hearing, it had seemed like the battle had ended and that all the commotion and strife had ended. No more signs of imminent danger, no more battling. But, even with the battle over, all that Trista could feel was coldness and, above all, fear. The cold and lifeless body of her vampiric roommate, and the freezing snow that poured down upon Trista's head were not doing many favours for Trista's fragile body. Even if the battle was over, the experience of seeing one unfurl before her eyes, the terror and panic that had been invoked upon her, was something that the girl was not going to easily forget.

But as Seki tried to reassure and calm the small girl, a scream could be heard within the immediate vicinity. And not just any ordinary scream, a scream that sounded familiar to Trista. Like that of a young man's.
Hearing the scream, Trista began to panic once more. Her heart began to accelerate and her breathing intensified. Hearing the scream meant only thing and one thing alone. More danger. Much... more... danger. Gripping tightly onto her roommate, Trista became restless as she entered into a panicked state. All she wanted right now was to be safe from harm. Not be forced into the eye of the storm. As she began to lose what little calmness she had within her, Trista shut her eyes and buried her head against Seki's body. Waiting for all the madness to end.

But amidst her panic, Trista felt a familiar power coming from within her. One that Trista had known for a while now. Lifting her head and opening her eyes, Trista saw something quite extraordinary. Beneath the blanket of snow that was covering the two roommates, Trista noticed a dim and pale blue-white light enveloping the duo. A veil, if it were. Trista knew not of what the veil was but she was certain on one thing. Trista had created it herself. There was no other explanation. After all, who else did Trista know who could create something like this? The only people Trista knew who had powers like her were naught but herself.
But, much like her first time using magic, the light promptly faded away and was not seen again. While it was only brief, it had a rather calming effect upon Trista. The light shining against the blanket of snow made a glistening effect. One that reminded Trista of something that she held dear to her heart. Something that she could not see for the time being but still greatly missed.

Within time, Trista slowly but surely loosened her tight grip on Seki's cold, undead body and slowed down her heavy breathing.
"You... Y-You saw it... Didn't you?" Trista softly and quietly asked to Seki, as if her voice were but a whisper. "My... M-My magic..."

                      Trinity Soul University | Entrance

The morning air was still cool, crisp, and filled moisture from last night's apparent snowfall. A whole bunch of students had already arrived at the University, but not all of them had already made it. As indicated by a bus arriving at the front gate to the University. However this bus was not a school bus, but rather a public transit bus.

As the bus came to a complete stop at the front gate, the doors finally opened, and among the few students and various other people that got off the bus, a girl with long pink hair, equally pink scales and pointed ears on the side of her head and face, and the lower body of a serpent had... slithered off the buss and onto the rather cold and uncomfortable concrete.

"Ooooh. I just had to arrive on a Winter Day. Why couldn't I be at least a month late?" The snake girl pouted as she crossed her arms, shivering due to not just the cold ground her scaly snake bottom-half, but also due to the cold air around her.

Though finally having arrived at the university, Zoe with her small bag of clothes in hand, finally begins to make her way through the gate. Only to find a rather large crowd of students in front of a large stage, with a group of people being barely discernible from her distance standing on the stage. Seeing this Zoe had only one thought.

"Oh is there a concert going on?" Zoe had asked herself as she proceeded to slither across the cold ground, and into the moist, frost covered grass and towards the crowd of students. The second the lower half of her body touched the cold, wet grass Zoe shivered again, but didn't stop despite it being somewhat risky to walk on such a cold and wet surface. Stopping right beside a girl with purple hair... the girl with purple hair is none-other than Sonya.

Having stopped right beside Sonya, the Lamia asked a question. "Hey do you know who's playing right now? Because I'm not familiar with any bands in the area..." Zoe asked the purple-haired girl, still thinking that their is a concert beginning to start.

It took Elkana at least 10 more seconds to realize just what happened.

"Oh dear." Elkana muttered to herself as she sprinted through the myriad of islets until she approached another of her creation: a giant, archaic meter of sorts with an unknown blue liquid glowing brightly inside a glass cylinder as if there was a big light bulb inside. "This isn't good; how did I even screw up?"

Elkana began strategizing: in which she would squeeze her temple and find somewhere to sit. It was a habit of hers ever since she was still amongst the living in the overground. The outburst of energy by that arcane firework generator is most likely going to destabilize the magic barrier enveloping the university, making it visible to the mundane world... in worst case, the mundane government will see it as some sort of alien threat and launch an all-out war against the magic society. There's gotta be some sort of way to utilize the huge amount of energy in a safe way...

"This is so risky..." Elkana sighed. She had a very obvious plan in mind: create a one-way dimensional rift portal between the underground and the overground. The portal will eat up any excess energy shot up by the firework generator while keeping the entire campus safe by making it one-way. She'll send one thing through the portal, then terminate it to keep it discrete...

The only bad thing was that, if there were anyone who were near the energy pillar, they have a marginal chance of being distorted by the spatial rend. The chance is really insignificant, according to Elkana's calculation, but she didn't want to take any chances...

"You know what, I'll take the risk." Elkana stood up and began chanting: a complex thread of unknown language. As she recited the spell, a set of portals, dark as the void itself, materialized in two locations: one in front of Elkana and another at the location where the crimson pillar dissipated.

"There's no concert, it's Orientation for the new students but they haven't said anything. Guessing a few teachers aren't here yet." She replied to the snake girl. "Arriving late?" She asks.
"No matter how strong or what power the enemy has, I will fight and protect my friends, even if it cost me my life to protect them. I will fight until I die to ensure their future."

"Oooooh. Well that's boring. I thought this was a concert. Would have been more fun if it was though. But nooooo, just some boring old orientation..." Replied the Lamia as she crossed her arms and pouted for a few seconds before turning back to Sonya.

"By the way... what's orientation?" The Lamia asked, clearly unaware of what Orientation is, as she hasn't really heard the word before until now. All the while the wet, cold grass is slowly beginning to nip at her lower-half, making her ever so slightly more uncomfortable by the passing seconds.

She shook her head, wiping her tears away with one hand, still holding her head. "Is Lynne alright? I need to know, she needs to be alright..." Slowly standing, she looked around. "Where is Lynne? Someone, find her! She might be hurt, please..." Reaching out to Kris, she shakily took a breath. "Thank you... But we need to get Lynne. She's my friend. I can't lose any of my friends." Turning, she stared at Verena and held her hand tightly. "That includes you, Verena. I'm sorry I triggered something in you. It was scary to see you both fight like that..." Letting out a shaky laugh, she rubbed the back of her head. "I'm terribly sorry for the trouble I must have caused. I honestly didn't mean it..." The brunette's smile was sad, almost as if she'd gone through something similar.

Then the girl spoke of a Lynne girl "If she is here, let me help, just give me a second" the wolf said taking some breaths, her body was actually sweating despite the fact it was the middle of winter. She moved her arms and made wave movement.

Slowly, the snow began to move, its piles getting smaller as the solidous element flowed around the area revealing the people involved in the fight. Kris released her breath in exhaustion at that "This migjt be my element, but with a hectic morning, now I need some rest" she spoke falling on her butt while bresthing "Your friend will appear sooner or later"
