I opened the doors to the casino and out burst the happy cheers of every girl and warm welcomes from the guys.
"Hey, everybody! Look who I brought! None other than the chief himself!"
Then a lot of people cheered for John.
"See John? They love ya, those filthy Halo players... Alright, everyone, where's Frank?"
A voice came from the crowd.
"Dammit, man, I was hanging out with the gals... no, fucking, shit..."
"I know, right? John!"
"No fucking way, man! Hey there, I'm a big fan of yours! I've played all five of your games!"
"Hey, everybody! Look who I brought! None other than the chief himself!"

"Nice to meet you as well.", John said as he nodded at Frank.
He never really knew how to deal with overt praise, he was usually the one that quietly accepted it and went back to what he was doing before.
Of course, John was getting better at dealing with it, especially from fans.

"That's what we're going to do tonight."

John pulled off "Bullet-Proof" and put in the corner, but not before putting a lock on the bag.
(Nobody will be able to run off with my weapons. The bag has 300 pounds worth of weapons in it. The ammo bag is possibly heavier.), John thought as he placed the locks on both bags.

John didn't really know any card games except for Poker.
Back in his universe, he had watched a group of UNSC marines play it. They offered to let him join, but John wasn't the playing type. He was content on just watching.
(Lucky me.), John thought as he remembered the patterns and rules of Poker.
"I guess Poker. It's the only game I remember.", John said.

Instead, he opted to stand.
John pulled the emergency hatch on his helmet and put his helmet on the chair.
(Luckiest Spartan, huh?)
John was never one to test his luck, and despite what everyone told him, he believed that he made his own luck.
Perhaps that's why he possessed such uncanny, supernatural luck.
Of course, not even John could deny that he was special.

The cards were passed out. Frank looked at the cards, then placed two down. All this with a face that gives a rock more personality. Then he got two more cards.
