They have most fortifications on the border, and that's why you're attackin fron the inside while we focus on breaking their shell." Reimu handed John a diagram of the siege position: a circular ring around the mountain that had little nooks and crannies scribbled all over the place.
"The reason why Youkai Mountain has not fallen is because of the magnificent natural defense and the Kappa force. However, I heard from Mitori that hey were about to be pushed back. So we are attacking their inner layer to halt their siege while liberating the Kappa and the Tengu to join our force."

John didn't like those numbers.
He remembered that he almost died from that scorpion.
What if those things pop up again?
Then again, this was a suicide mission in every sense of the word.

Edge of Ancient City
The two started heading around the Ancient City, where smoke and fire was rising from a part of it.
"To put it simply, Gensokyo is being invaded by two armies. One is controlled by some fella called the Devourer, the other, well, the Higher Power said that was a personal vendetta, and didn't want me telling anyone. Ancient City is being attacked by the second army right now, and they're winning. I even saw a couple of Oni get ripped in half as I came down here." Lily Black explained.
Somewhere in Nevada
"HP. It's short for Higher Power." Hank said.
Human Village
The kamikaze horde was pushing forward, and the group back.
"I know that fella from earlier helped with the ammo and all, but i'm starting to run out." Foster said.
"Same here." Sam said.
"And i'm getting exhausted from all this magic usage." Koishi said, looking like she was about to collapse.
The Heavy was still out there, seemingly not having the same issues as the others as streams of bullets kept pouring out of the minigun he called Sasha, while Marisa kept making strafing runs on her broomstick.

Sometimes when you're driving down a road, a bug hits your windshield. It's ugly and unpleasant, but you just activate the wipers / cleaning fluid and it's gone in a few seconds. It's just part of driving down the road. You don't dwell on it, because that'd be silly. Bugs aren't worth the time.
You just discard their guts and keep on driving.

I stood up.
"Tell me, how powerful are you? If you are determined, you can come along. maybe they can tell you where your friend is. You coming with?"
But I saw her fall to the floor.

I gave her my hand to lift her up.

In the Hakurei Shrine Axl laid in the corner of the room still unconscious. However suddenly he woke up as though he woke up from a bad dream. "Huh? Wait where am I!?" Said Axl as he jumps up. He then notices his armor is a different color than before. It was white with purple stripes. "What happened to my armor!?" He yelled.
Meanwhile Wily and his robots were outside. His Robot Masters were messing around. Napalm Man was barking random orders to the Sniper Joes, Elec Man was creating a sort of light show with his electricity, and Heat Man was petting a Metool... before melting it for no reason.

"Very well, thank you.", John said as he got up from the table.
John walked out of the shrine and looked up at the sky.
(If I'm going on a suicide mission, then I better tie up some loose ends...), John thought as he pulled out the gap crystal Yukari had given him.
For the longest time, he never had to do anything like this. While various marines and ODSTs said their farewells to those they cared about, John was there simply tending to his gun, ready for the next suicide mission.
He never had anyone close to him, he never had anybody that would miss him if he died.
John walked to a secluded part of the shrine and spoke to the crystal.
"Yukari, we need to talk. This is important."
