    @ S121

    The use of two abilities

First: Visions that show the next event to the wielder who then takes action.
If the user cannot find any other option, then...
Second: the abilities that allow it to alter the event, like Monado Speed, Shield, Armor, and Purge.

Now it is the Monado I...

In various cutscenes, the symbol displayed in the Monado says what it is capable of killing. When Shulk begins the game, the Monado displays the symbol for "Machine" (機). When Zanza is freed on Prison Island and Shulk gets the Monado II, it says "Person". During the final battle, when Zanza looks at Shulk's Monado III and says "That Symbol...", it is because the symbol now displayed says "god".

        Hmm...

        How powerful is each ability?

How fast can Monado Speed go? How strong is the Monado Shield? How strong is the Monado Armor? How strong is the Monado Purge? How long does the Purge last? Can it be countered, or is the Monado's power absolute?

        @Kristia

        Welcome back!

Are you okay? We heard what happened.

Hey wb, everything ok on your end?

          @ S121

...you forgot my explanations of each already? TwT It wasn't that long ago...

Here's the wiki summary of each

◾ Buster: powerful attack with a larger blade. Deals double the damage to Mechon and Machina.
◾ Enchant: strengthens the weapons of the party. Allows normal weapons to damage Mechon.
◾ Shield: generates a barrier that protects the party from enemy talent arts of the same level or lower.
◾ Speed: gives the target a greater chance to dodge physical attacks.
◾ Purge: ranged ether blast that inflicts Aura Seal and nullifies Spike effects.
◾ Armour: reduces physical and ether damage taken. Percentage (30%-75%) depends on this Art's level.
◾ Cyclone: damages all enemies around the user and inflicts topple on enemies suffering from break.
◾ Eater: strips away enemy buffs and causes bleed damage in a frontal cone.
My answer on all of them:

          ◾ Buster: (as is)
◾ Enchant: (as is, the strength buff is minor)
◾ Shield: (Think Bubble Shield. Game Canon is one attack, based on cutscene: can last for multiples. If using game canon and cutscene, it would last 20 seconds. But it cannot protect against certain forms of energy attacks if I recall...)
◾ Speed: (Short duration, 100% dodge rate. I'll link the video... Also in the cutscene, shows party gaining the buff instead of single target)
◾ Purge: (Seals abilities and Aura's (buffs) for about a minute. Very good against enemies that read minds...)
◾ Armour: (Not as good as shield, but protects against the things Shield can't. Duration based, about 20 seconds)
◾ Cyclone: (It's an ether whirlwind that goes upward like a volcano of energy.)
          ◾ Eater: (As is.)

There's individual profiles for each art here

Scroll to the section that has Arts and that's where they are.

But is there a way to counter the Monado, or is it impossible to counter?

What I was thinking was having Takoizu alter the boundary of able/unable on the wielder of the Monado, making them unable to wield the blade, perhaps even triggering the Monado rejecting them and shocking them.

What are your thoughts? Also, can the Monado itself be affected by boundary manipulation?

I'm just trying to find a defense strategy against it.

              @Kristia

I'm glad to hear you're okay.

What did you buy, if you don't mind me asking? I can take no for an answer, so if I'm poking around too much, tell me so.

                good thing it wasn't much...
but you might want to do something about the phone...if you hadn't already called in to have it deactivated or something so that they can't get to like, contact information or what not...

                Answer: Apocrypha Generator
It's a device that suppresses the Monado. It can still be used if you literally force it to work with all your will.

Also the way I see it...

                Monado > Reality benders

From that fact I brought up before where the Monado is technically the tool that could rewrite the universe's code.
You would have to indirectly affect it if you wanted to do anything via reality bending.

Of course, this is the Monado I we're talking about here not the Monado III (Shulk's Monado)
The Monado I's true abilities are...locked.

In short, it doesn't come with a user manual. Shulk researched the Monado for months, if not years, and he knew about the multi-layered glass which has the symbols on them which means he figured out that in order to unlock an ability, you have to make a symbol appear on the glass in the center (of course glass in name only)

There's three "unique" Monados in Xenoblade...

I'm about to give Jack Zanza's Monado
                        Shulk has his Monado already...
                        ...that leaves Meyneth's...

                                A quick question

Not that I am crazy anough to do it, but what is the character limit on a single post? Just wondering if there would be even a possibility to have what I though of having in the IC in the OOC instead considering that Knowledges are about 1700 words and I haven't even started writing locations yet.

That wasn't a quick question it seems.
