Actually, it runs independently of your original Jar file.

It creates another Jar and allows you to quickly and easily play mods without having to load/unload mod packs. All you need to do is click your desired modpack, and it does everything for you.

I could find the FTB installer for you, if you want. You could request it now, or even a month from now. Just tell me whenever you want it and I'll get it for you, and like TRXD said, there's no pressure.
