"And I am trying to stop you all from doing that." Athena retorted to Midna, putting her Aspis back on her wrist. Flattery and deception was not her thing; so she can't lie to them about the portal. "Why, you might ask. This... being called Death is paying me a lot of money in exchange of keeping you people away. So either step away, or face my wrath... unless you people can top his deal."

"Mmmm, alright. So, considering the fact that we're just trying to take some sweets and get out, I designed the 'splosives in a way that will make them real portable." Tina said as Chara took the two to a remote area, although the bulge of her backpack behind her suggested it wasn't necessarily as portable as she suggests. "Ohoho, man, this is gonna be off the shizzo for rizzo~"

"Then I suppose you know of the possible consequences that the messenger of souls is preparing for, right?" Toriel spoke as her more diplomatic side surged "We are trying to stop him from summoning an extremely dangerous and enormous power, just by the appearance of this skeletal being, there have been already struggles throughout the city, causing destruction. But by how powerful the being or object that the Reaper is trying to bring to this world will cause disasters of cataclysmic rates, thousands of innocent lives will perish if this process isnīt interrupted."

Midna understood what the monster was trying to do, so she followed her line of thought "From the looks of it, you are a warrior, but also a mercenary, I can guess you have your reasons for earning such a hefty amount of money, but is the bloodied reward worth for murdering innocent lives?" her tone was sincere "Or are you a mere soldier with no honor who follows the philosophy of the end justifies the means?" she asked.

        Paris | France

It was a cool afternoon in Paris. The sun was shining... and the streets were filled with people and characters from all over the globe were gathering in Paris for the Christmas holiday. This made things busier than usual, more hectic. Not just for most businesses, but also for the police of the city. For with every normal civilian, there is bound to be several criminals in hiding. There have already been a few reports of robberies here and there... but they were all taken care of by the famous Carmelita Fox, local Inspector who has been teaching crooks that... crime doesn't pay. She has become rather famous due to her efficiency and determination.

Though in the background of the city in the shadows, much to the unwary eyes of most civilians, and possible fear of thieves. Another person has been taking care of crime. The more dangerous, the more secret. The ones that the local law enforcement either can't take care of on their own, or don't want to. This man was Proto Man. Prototype Robot Master of Dr. Thomas Light. Machine that fights the laws of Robotics in that he does not listen to the commands of his creator. One of the first robots from his world with... true free will. It has only been about a few months ago that he had arrived in Paris... in the cold dark alleyways of the city. Unconscious due to a reactor failure he had... but... for some reason he had woken up with his reactor... stabilized. As if someone had fixed it... something that he is definitely confused about. Either way when he woke up it didn't take too long for him to find the corrupt amount of crimerate in the city, and the amazing feats of the local Inspector. Shortly after he began working hard on aiding her in the background.

So far he had taken care of a good portion of crime in the city in the shadows. Mainly a bit of the larger threats, and he always left the criminals tied up either in front of the Police Station or Carmelita's own home. He didn't leave without a calling card though. For everytime he'd leave the crooks his infamous whistle will be heard, albeit briefly before he disappeared into the shadows of the night. He purposefully did this to garner her attention as if he was leading her onto something... a case maybe...? Either way he did have a few encounters, and despite the questions she asked... he never gave full answers. He always kept things vague. All except his name, and the fact that he wishes to remain secret from the Police department... Whether she had done so or not is unknown to him, but he doesn't honestly care deep down.

        ...

Currently Proto Man stands alone atop a rooftop, looking down on the city streets as if keeping a watchful eye on the city. He stood there... scarf flowing in the wind, and his red and white helmet with black visor that hid his eyes...

However it wasn't long before he realized he wasn't alone.

"So you finally found me again Inspector. What gave me away this time?" He said with a rather cool looking smirk and calm tone as he looked over his shoulder at her.

Hearing her title gave away the fact that the Inspector was found out by the robot man, this Inspector was Carmelita Montoya Fox, a law bringer who always managed to put her targets on jail, with the exception of a certain gang of hooligans, but right now she had a more personal reason to search for the red and grey man. "Hello again Vigilante" she greeted him with his popular title that some of the cityīs citizens have come up with. "For someone who has amazing speed skills and can disappear in a ray of light, you sure have one element that will sooner or later draw the attention of everyone" she spoke in a calm tone as she jumped to one of the towerīs support beams, a ticking sound could be heard that got stronger as she got closer to the robot master "Nuclear energy is a rather odd one out in the middle of a city, I suggest you to find a way to cover the radiation from normal Geiger counters" the bluenette explained as she showed her own device, which had some modifications that soon got pulled out of her shock pistol "I had to use some favors so that the government wouldnīt call the quarantine squads and look for your signature".

Proto Man just chuckled as he looked back down at the city as if just pondering something.

"Yeah? Well you won't have to worry about that. My nuclear reactor is stabilized now. For the time being. It may emit some radiation, but nowhere near enough to cause any adverse-effects. So rest easy there." Proto Man replied as he turned to her with one hand on his hip.

"So. I assume you want more answers huh? Must be getting irritating for you to not get what you want. So what is it you want answered this time? Just the tid-bits or the full story?"

The known scowl of the Inspector was again showing, but she took a moment to release some air through her snout. Before even talking, she threw a bag to him, landing at his feet "That holds the bounty of the people you have brought to the police" she said at first, then went back to her main reason to search for him "There have been rumors of robot guys similar to you, but they are too "insignificant" for the police to work" she growled for a moment "The thing is that I have been snooping around the Robot masters, and most of them have been doing honest jobs, for example Wood Man, he has been managing the reforestation of the neighboring forests of the city" she explained

"But when I asked him about his allies, he got nervous and couldnīt give me answers, mostly since there is no official case regarding the rumors, so" the Inspector looked at Proto Man "What have you found of these rumors?" she asked him

Proto Man looked down at the bag of money with... half-interest. He didn't really care for the bounties, but rather just helping out when needed. Though the money can help him out at least. After picking up the bag he looked back at the Fox before turning back to the city.

He was deep in thought regarding her words about the other Robot Masters in and around the city. He has heard rumors as well... Rumors regarding robots getting up to no good, much like back in his world. Though they weren't going to the same extremes that they once used to. Most of them thankfully were just doing honest work. Like Wood Man as Carmelita said. What was interesting was what Carmelita had said about Wood Man getting nervous and couldn't give answers. As if he was hiding something... This made Proto Man think a bit more deeply regarding these rumors.

"I heard of them as well. I heard of some minor thefts and robberies with the Robot Masters being to blame from the citizens. So far other than that no major leads. That doesn't mean I haven't been searching around for any more info. In fact I might have gotten one minor lead. Ice Man. One of the original Robot Masters created by Dr. Light is in town working at a local frozen goods factory. I got news that he might have seen something. I was planning on heading over there in fact." Proto Man spoke in his calm, respectful tone.

Carm took her time to ponder about the situation "It wouldnīt be surprising that civilians would throw the blame on a character that at first was a villain." she responded. The Inspector had a long list of cases were characters were targeted for their background, but they were innocent on this world, call it a blank slate to start a new life, and many decided to do that. Yet there were still many who didnīt trust them, an unfortunate fate for the characters, but that is one of the reasons she kept working in the law, to protect the innocent, regardless of where they come from.

"That would be helpful, meeting this Ice Man" the Inspector spoke and sighed "From all the days that this could occur, it had to be this exact day" she grumbled.

"Hmm..." Proto Man pondered as he began thinking. It took a good few minutes of thinking before turning to Carmelita and speaking.

"One of the busiest times of the year. Typically a good time for crime to happen. With all the chaos of Christmas shopping and focused on celebrating the holiday. Of course it'd be prime time for crime. Let's just hope that these rumors are just that. Rumors." He spoke as he turned to walk past Carmelita.

"I'll meet you at the factory. Want to get there before it gets any later. Ice Man normally stops his shift a 6 PM. I guess I will meet you there... that is unless you want to play chase again and try to get more answers out of me." He spoke with a sly, somewhat teasing smirk as he looked right at Carmelita who is now only a few feet away from his new position.

"It is true, this month is one of the hardest for us at the Force, the cells almost in over capacity and most using extra shifts to keep the city in some sort of control." Carmelita responded "At least we got plans for the possible threats and exaggerated populace on the streets and malls." She then was tempted to give him a chase, but she had a higher priority at home "Iīll let you off the hook for the moment, I got something to deal first at home." the fox gave the robot master a faint smirk "See you around." and she jumped down, using the towerīs support beams as a leverage to hold and move with ease to the closest platform.

Proto Man simply gave a small nod and spoke once more

"Then I guess I'll see you soon Inspector." Proto Man respond quietly as he gave a two-fingered salute before he jumped off the building and into the alley way below before running off towards the Ice Factory. Leaving Carmelita behind, as he did his scarf flowed behind him. The red and grey robot left the scene once again... though he did give a location of where he'll be.

It didnīt take long for Carmelita to reach her home, for a city like Paris, there were many ways to get around it, even better for her way of moving, which was of jumping on the roofs. The inspector gazed at the slowly closer police headquarters and sighed (It is odd, working for years and going on the field, but now I got a bigger priority.) she thought with a smile. Who would have thought that a workaholic like Carmelita would suddenly come to the chiefīs office for fewer hours (His face of astonishment was perfect for a photograph.)

The inspector was now looking at the building, but then headed further on the buildings, just a couple of blocks until she reached her home. The building was a two story house with a small garden on the front, while it looked.. rustic, it had a homely feeling. The bluenette felt good while opening the door "Iīm Home." she called to the other inhabitant of the house.

Efina was sitting on the couch in front of the coffee table and the television. A generic kid's show was playing on the screen. There were several hand drawn images on the table, but they weren't what you would expect a child to draw. She had just gotten back from doing her own little investigation. The pictures she had drawn were her notes from what she had learned. She couldnt' read or write very well yet so drawing them was the next best thing to do. There were a couple of images of robots but other than that, not much else was useful.

The girl was eating of many little cookies she had gotten from a pack. She seemed to be more distracted by the kid's show than any type of work and from the looks of the pack, she had already had more cookies than any little girl should have at one time. When the blue haired fox woman entered the door, she immidatly caught her attention. "MAMA!" she said while jumping to her feet and running over to hug the fox woman with her tiny little arms. "Welcome back mama!"

The Inspector gladly hugged the little girl "Hey there little Efi, how are you doing?" she greeted the young one. It had been some months since she found herself with an egg at her home office, which later became a small girl, much to the shocked reaction of the Fox since mammals generally didnīt come from eggs. At first it she acted to help Efina into a foster program, but the little one quickly got attached to her. Carmelita was between the sword and the wall since the girl even called her mama, hitting her in her core. In the end, Carmelita decided to take care of the little one.

The fox female took some time to adapt to the curiosities that came with Efina, she didnīt get nutrients like other kids, she got it from lies in the form of little monsters that appeared when the girl managed to find out a lier, something that Carmelita took as an advantage with the police force. The law officer managed to get the girl her lie monsters, but only from small cases like robbery and disputes, nothing close to murder or traumatizing situations, Efina was still a kid for creatorīs sake.

"Looks like you have been eating some cookies, how many have you got?" Carm asked her daughter with a smile while cleaning her cheeks from the crumbs of the sugary treats.

Little Efi nuzzled her mother's soft fur before giving her a warm smile. She liked being able to go out on her own and have fun, but she liked being wih her mama even more. When the fox asked about the cookies and how she was doing, she gave an innocent look and tapped the tips of her fingers together sheepishly. "I wold tell you but... I can't count higher than twenty yet so I have no idea. OH! but I drew some pictures for you. I found out what some of the big mean robots you told me about looked like. But I didn't' find out anything else/ Sorry mama."
