As Alex sent vibrations through the earth he could see the feedback the vibrations showed him about Jason. He was on his hands and knees, trembling from...something? Was it pain? anger? perhaps fear? Alex however didnt' have the luxury of hesitation as he took to the air once again, leaping in between the fallen trees and debris before perching himself up on a vantage point. he had found himself a small branch he could hold onto about 18 feet in the air connected to a tree that had been pushed into the ground by his last attack.

Alex held on to the tree with one hand while holding his magnum with the other. He quickly took aim at Jason and pulled the trigger, firing three of his six rounds at his upper torso. He altered the vectors of each shot fired to fly twice as fast as normal so they could hopefully penetrate his armor and end him.

The bullets ripped through the air and rang out as they impacted Jason's back and into his armor. The upper layer of each plate warped and was shredded away by the high-velocity, armor piercing rounds, penetrating the middle layer of the plating and cracking them. This absorbed much of the energy from the bullets, but even then, the inner layer of the plating was nicked by the bullets. Jason could feel each impact like being punched, but he kept his position, groaning not only from the impact, but the feeling of his body undergoing perhaps the most painful thing he had ever felt.

The dust eventually settled, revealing the lone super soldier, only something was quite a bit different. It looked as if he was covered in blood.. or some kind of other red substance.

Alex watched as all three of his bullets connected with their targets, each one penetrating the first layer of armor, at least that's how it looked from his prospective. He dropped down from the tree when he saw that and was going to get a bit closer if he could. He could hear Jason grunting and smelt blood in the air. To Alex it seemed like he had done it, but if Jason was actually bleeding then... well he had never seen blood act quite like this before. It was covering his armor along with some other red substance, which is far more than a few bullet wounds in his back would have caused.

Alex didnt' have the foggiest idea what the hell Jason was doing, but he felt threatened by it. Whatever this was it didn't seem random or like a malfunction. Even if it wer some sort of fail safe the government had built into him kill him, the blood would be dripping off of him, not coating his body like another layer to his armor. unsure of what was coming next Alex's fight or flight response kicked in. He rushed towards Jason now, running at a solid 40MPH, starting a a distance of about 30 feet away. He moved the gun to his wounded arm and clenched the fist in his free hand, ready to strike once he was in range.

Jason could tell that Alex was upon him, but he was wracked with pain. The nanomachines were forcibly burrowing through his skin and finding whatever way they could to reach the surface of his armor. After that, they were pooling along the surface to form a ruby-red sheet. He could see everything tinted in red, though not to the point of making it hard to see his radar. He could see that Alex was close, that hew was nearing him. Despite the pain, Jason fought back just hard enough to swallow some of the pain and rise to his knees, attempting to strike Alex the moment he drew near.

When Alex was finally within rang, he rared his arm back and thrusted his balled fist forward with all his might. He accelerated the vectors in his arms to speed up the punch to about 500MPH, while keeping his reflection up and altering the vectors from his punch so that his hand would take no damage with whatever it came into contact with, while whatever he would hit would take the damage his head would have taken.

Right as Alex's fist came into contact with Jason's, the energy slammed into it and rippled the blood red layer on his armor as it traveled down his arm and out almost like a cone. The shockwave burst out from the point of impact and blew some of the dust in their area back into the air, but not nearly enough to limit visibility again. Jason was pushed back about an inch, but he was still in position, standing firm from the powerful attack.

Fist to fist the two soldier's collided in a furious strike. Alex had used his vector manipulation to push all the force both from his fist and Jason's back into Jason's arm in an attempt break through his armor and shatter his arm. Normally this would have worked bu it seemed the red layer over his armor had either absorbed or redirected most of the force of the blow. So instead of Alex punching clean through Jason's arm the super soldier was just pushed back a bit. This soldier was full of surprises, but each move he made only seemed more and more desperate.

Alex continued to move forward with his previous momentum. This time he took his left hand and made all of his fingers perfectly straight as he ran at Jason. At an angel he trusted a knife hand right at his chest, although this attack was noticeably slower than the first. Possibly due to it being his weaker arm or perhaps because the shot he took to his arm earlier. Either way he planned to punch a hole in Jason's' armor and clear through his chest.

Jason gritted his teeth and tightly clenched his fists as the pain began to fade. Fortunately for him, the countermeasure seemed to protect him rather well. Now he just had to beat this kid at his own game. Thank god for Brooks.

Just as this had happened, Jason snapped his left arm up to strike the underside of Alex's forearm in an attempt to deflect the blow away, meanwhile punching with his right into Alex's stomach. Jason had a feeling that his counter-punch would likely unfaze the psychic, but he still had to try. If his fist couldn't actually make contact, there had to be a point where it stopped, right? Jason just had to try and figure it out.

Alex was actually surprised to see Jason somehow making slight alteration's to his own vector by causing the jab from his left hand to sort of ricochet from it's original trajectory, overshooting and missing Jason entirely. Jason's own blow was deflected by his reflection about half an inch before it reached his body which under normal circumstances would have sent Jason flying back with the same force he used during the punch, However it was unclear what would happen with this strange countermeasure in place.

Alex knew that Jason knew his reflection would protect him from that punch, and he now knew that Jason was somehow able to slightly alter vectors, even if he was already manipulating them. Suddenly it made a lot more sense that Jason let Alex get closer to him, maybe it wasn't out of desperation like he had originally suspected but a clever ploy to lure him into whatever trap Jason was laying. Alex took another step forward after Jason's punch was deflected. toes out and heal on the ground as he pushed the vectors out in a fast and powerful shock wave. He reached for his gun as he did so, grabbing his revolver with his good hand and taking aim. With any luck his shock wave would have actually sent Jason flying backwards, making him an easy enough Target for Alex to shoot.

Jason was hit by the shockwave hard enough that it nearly sent him flying, but as he started to feel himself go, he leaned forward hard and pushed himself with his legs in Alex's direction, helping him rise to a stand as he contemplated what to do next. At the very least, he was able to see his blood ripple right when it came into contact with the shields protecting the psychic. With that, perhaps he would be able to find a way to trick Alex into trying to block an attack that hasn't hit him, wasting his energy. The only other alternative was simply whaling on him until he feels tired from deflecting, but every punch would push Jason away just a little bit. This feigned attacking was much more effective since if Alex caught on, he might lower his defenses, and then Jason could really do some damage. If not, then he was still expending energy.

Alex managed to push Jason back, not the way he had hoped but it was well enough. With his gun in hand Alex aimed for Jason's center of mass and fired his revolver twice, accelerating these bullets faster than the three from before. They flew at him about 2.5 times faster than usual, leaving Alex with one bullet left in the cylinder. However Jason had seen Alex shoot at him one before and wouldn't have seen him reload due to the trees obscuring his view. He didn't know if Jason would account foe the possibility of him reloading or not, but for now he holstered the gun as if it were dry.

As soon as Jason stopped, He lunged forward with every intent on bringing this kid down. With a fist clenched, Jason launched himself after Alex at close to 80 mph, ignoring the bullets as they slammed into the red layer, which absorbed most of the impact, but broke away in the spots that were hit before damaging the metal plating and cracking the titanium carbide layer beneath. As Jason approached, he followed through with a three-strike flurry of punches, taking into account what distance his fists had to be to ensure they didn't get deflected.

Alex wasn't sure what Jason was up too or what he could expect from this next attack, but he had no reason to suspect his reflection would fail him. With that in mind he met Jason head on, charging towards him as well. It was clear trying to beat him or pierce his armor wasn't working, so this time he charged after him with open hands. If he could grab on to Jason then perhaps he could rip him apart.

Jason could tell that the kid was trying to grab him with open hands, so to counter, Jason darted a few inches diagonally to the right and slid as close as he could to Alex, just grinding up against his reflection before spinning and swiftly pulling his body away. Such a maneuver would have put Jason just behind Alex, facing his back.

As Jason quickly dashed behind him with his odd maneuver, Jason would have accidentally been pulled into Jason by the same reflection that had been pushing Jason away all this time actually brought him in, causing him to ram against the wounded part of Alex's left arm. Gritting his teeth the Esper's fight or flight instincts kicked in, and Alex pushed off from the ground. He sent himself flying about 20 yards away from Jason, turning his body 180 degrees to face him while he held his wounded arm with his good hand. The little scuff with Jason had left it bleeding a bit worse than before, but it wasn't anything ale couldn't fight through.

From the esper' prospective that move had to be intentional. Jason somehow planned for that to happen and had found the weakness of his reflection. It wasn't a weakness many people could effectively utilize but Jason was surely capable of doing so. If Alex wanted to survive he would have to find some way to fight from a distance, either that or he'd be forced to let him go. "Impressive." Alex admitted, showing a bit of admiration for such a worthy enemy.
