Jason was filled in on what happened at the Engi-con.
He's drawing conclusions, but won't act until he's absolutely certain.
It may sound as if I am, but Huey and Renamon told him that the Announcer's heart had been removed.
Renamon then said that someone could be trying to resurrect him, that you don't really need the brain to resurrect somebody.
As for being a threat, he's the one that messed up John, not with actions but with words.
