Ethan could see that the girl in his arms wanted to be let go, but he knew she would just end up passing out again. She was dehydrated, cut, and burned from the desert. Ethan was not one to care about others too much, but he felt that he was at least obligated to help her out. After all, she was near the brink of death only a couple of minutes ago.

"Listen kid, you passed out from dehydration and heat exhaustion, and fried in the desert. Now, I don't know about you, but people on the brink of death tend to remain in danger of dying, even after a couple of minutes., Ethan said to the girl in a matter-of-fact tone.

After a moment, Ethan sighed and spoke once more.

"Tell you what, if you can tell me why you don't want to be helped, and convince me that you'll be fine without medical treatment, I'll put you down and go right on my merry way. Okay?", Ethan asked the girl in a slightly nicer tone.

Grey saw the robotic being and thought a moment before deciding it would be best to see if he could get the being's attention. "HEY!"

After her grim episode of depression, Mara kept going until she heard something "There is a conmotion close.. maybe there are others around" she said to herself while starting to run

Only to be followed by more shadows, they were getting closer and closer as she ran as fast as she could "Oh you won´t get me, stay away from my sight" she growled jumping away from the reach of a shadow´s hand. Then something came to her mind ("My portal gun!")

Taking her weapon from her back the bioroid turned on its flashlight and sighed with releif as the shadows got away from the light "That was a close one, but still the conmotion is closer" she said already running to what could be the center of the building

SimO turned it's head to the side, looking over to Grey. After mulling it over for a millisecond, SimO began to walk over to the man.

Megumi looked at Ethan as she got a slight scowl on her face. She did not say anything, instead she just sighed as she turned her head away from Ethan.

"I survived worse than the damn desert..." She said as she looks down at the two large scars on her abdomen. "Just give me water, and I shall be fine. Now will you put me down?" She replied as the sound of over 20 men marching can be heard. It was the Security and Military Task Force of the colony. It consisted of 20 armored men, and one woman long black hair, a a black sleeveless shirt, biker gloves, a pair of tan short shorts with a black belt that holstered a combat knife on one side, and a customized revolver on the other, and she was wearing a pair of tan military grade combat boots. Her right shoulder was also completely covered in black tattoos.

"Come on men we need to investigate the crash site, and check for any possible survivors!" She said as she continued running. She had ran right past Megumi, and Ethan. Following shortly behind her was the squad of 20 armed guards.

As the three charged at each other, the copy swung at John's head, but John slid on his back, right under the large shadow's legs and stood up behind it. As soon as John stood, he raised his hand towards the large shadow and Cortana rerouted power from his suit, firing off another surge of electricity. This time, the large shadow fell to its knees as the electricity stunned it. Meanwhile, the copy sprinted towards John and tried to tackle him, but John quickly fell to one knee, raised his arms towards the copy, and as soon as the copy came within reach, John vaulted it over him and into the ground. Reacting quickly, John then followed up with a quick punch to the copy's throat, causing the copy to grab at its throat and make a strained, gurgling noise as it tried to cope with the pain. John then jumped back and turned towards the large shadow, only to greeted by a hard strike to his torso. The blow was strong enough to send John crashing into a nearby wall, causing parts of it to crumble away. Despite the heavy hit, John quickly shrugged off the blow and pulled himself out from the hole in the wall. Just then, the copy slowly rose to a stand and pointed its finger at him.

"You do not belong here. You must be cleansed.", the copy said.

"It can talk?", Cortana asked in confusion.

All of a sudden, the copy disappeared through the floor and appeared right above John with a copy of John's combat knife. John looked up and saw the blade as it neared his visor. Reacting as fast as he could, John barely dodged the knife. The knife scraped the side of John's helmet, causing sparks to fly off as the helmet and knife scrapped against each other. John quickly retaliated by grabbing the copy's wrist, putting his leg behind the copy's feet, grabbing its throat, and slamming it into the ground. The copy used its free hand to punch John in the chest, but the chestplate survived the blow and John placed his foot on the hand the knife was held in and pulled out his own combat knife. The electric charge from John's suit electrified the knife, making it lethal to the shadows and to his copy. Just as John raised the knife above his head, he saw that the large shadow was charging straight for him on his radar. Reacting quickly, John quickly jumped upwards as the large shadow tried to slash at him with its claws and landed onto its back, quickly stabbing his blade into the hulking shadow. The electrified knife pierced the skin of the large shadow, and the shadow let out a deafening roar before lashing about, trying to remove John from its back. As it reached back to grab John, John raised his hand towards the approaching arm and fired off a surge of electricity. The electricity caused the large shadow to convulse before falling to the ground on its stomach. This was John's chance. Reacting quickly, John pulled his knife out of the large shadow's back and raised it up in the air for a final blow, but right before he could kill the shadow, the copy slammed right into him, sending bot John and itself to the ground. The copy quickly recovered and stabbed down towards John's visor. Right as the blade came within and inch of the orange-gold visor, John quickly grabbed hold of the copy's wrist and stopped the knife from advancing any further. Seeing that John had stopped the knife, the copy then placed its other hand on the hilt of the knife and pressed down with all its weight. John quickly grabbed the copy's hands with his free hand and pushed up as hard as he could, slowly forcing the copy to rise upward. All of a sudden, John let the knife drop back down, only this time, he directed it to stab through the ground next to his head, jamming the knife in the solid marble, cracking the marble. As soon as that happened, John slipped his leg over to the copy's left side and shifted his weight along with it. As soon as John was in just the right position, he slammed into the copy's side and forced it into the ground. Before the copy could react, John delivered a powerful blow to it's head stunning it. John then quickly straddled onto the copy's chestplate and began to lay down a series of devastating blows to the copy's head, neck, and arms as it feebly tried to defend itself. The sound of advanced Titanium Alloy crashing into shadowplate echoed through the halls, each blow sounding more like a car wreck then a punch. Just when it seemed that the copy was about to die, the large shadow quickly grabbed John from behind and slammed him into the ground, cracking the ground around him. John let out a shout of pain as he impacted the ground hard enough to crack the marble all the way to the six floor's ceiling. The creature slammed John into various parts of the ground over and over again as John squeezed at the shadow's fingers, trying to break them.

"Hold on, John!!", Cortana as she quickly charged up John's reactor.

Just as John slammed into the ground for the seventh time, a large electric pulse of energy coursed out of Johns's suit and into the large shadow's hand. The large shadow roared as it tossed John into a wall, cracking it. John bounced off of the wall and landed onto the floor. As John slowly forced himself to his hands and knees, the copy lunged at him with its knife again, this time stabbing John in his lower back, causing John to let out a cry of pain.

"GAHHH!!!"

Quickly fighting off the pain, John jerked his body to the side, causing the shadow to lose its grip. as soon as that happened, John stabbed his combat knife through the copy's foot and into the floor, pinning it into the ground. As soon as that happened, John grabbed for the knife in his back and pulled it out. It din't matter if the knife had teeth on it, John still ripped it out of his back and stabbed it into the copy's kneecap, forcing the copy to scream in pain and anger. As John crawled away from the copy, he was met with an uppercut to his side from the large shadow, slamming him against the wall again. John coughed as his injury opened back up from the concussive force. Just when it seemed that John was in trouble, Cortana overcharged John's shields and expanded them, covering him in a thin, protective dome of Hardlight.

"John! Are you okay!?", Cortana asked in a worried voice.

"...Yea. Let's kill these two.", John said as he gritted his teeth and stood back up.

AS John rose to a stand, his Biofoam injectors began to pump Biofoam into his body, quickly sealing up the wound. John grimaced as the Biofoam expanded. It felt as if his stab wound was crawling with flaming ants, but he fought off the pain, and after a couple of seconds, John felt no pain from the wound.

"Cortana, charge up the reactor as high as it will go, and on my mark, fire it all out of my hand.", John said to Cortana.

"Understood. I'll tell you when its ready.", Cortana said as she quickly removed the Hardlight and got to work.

As soon as the barrier came down, the large shadow lunged towards John with one of its claws. At that very moment, John's body suddenly tensed up as his nervous system suddenly surged with a torrent of powerful electronic signals. Adrenaline flowed through John's veins as his heartrate suddenly increased and his pupils dilated. Time seemed to slow down to a crawl as the claw came closer. In a split second, the claw went from slicing through the air, to inching towards John. The large shadow might not have known this, but John had gone into a state of complete and utter focus that was impossible for any normal human. John had just gone into Spartan Time. Just as soon as the claw came within reach, John grabbed onto the two longest claws and pushed forward with all of his might. Thanks to John's leverage, he was able to stop the large shadow, and with one sudden motion, John pulled the claws to his right flank as hard as he could, sending the large shadow into the wall behind him. The large shadow quickly recovered and tried to slash at John, but John was already within punching distance. Reacting as fast as lighting, John delivered a flurry of punches into its chest, causing the creature to cough and sputter. After only half a second, John had already punched the large shadow ten times, and after the flurry, John quickly grabbed onto the large shadow's arm and threw it across the room. The large shadow crashed into the wall and broke the wall, but quickly stood back up to face its attacker. Just as soon as the large shadow stood up, it could see that John was already upon it again, this time soaring through the air with an electrified fist poised to deliver a powerful blow. Before the shadow could react, John slammed his fist down onto the top of the shadow's head, cracking the ground the large shadow was standing on. The shadow fell to its hands and knees as it tried to regain its senses, but as John landed in front of it, he performed a backflip right in front of the creature's head and kicked its face as hard as he could, sending the large shadow onto its back.

"John, its ready!", Cortana urgently said to her partner.

Just then, John jumped 30 feet back, aimed his hand at the creature, and as the large shadow slowly rose to a stand, John shouted out the signal.

"Now!", John shouted.

In a single instant, all of the power that had been collected within his Plasma/Fusion/Nova Hybrid Reactor surged into the suit's power supply, where it surged through the capacitors, out into the circuits in John's arm, and finally into John's hand. In that single instant, it seemed as if everything went quiet, as if the room itself was holding its breath for the inevitable surge of energy about to be unleashed. All of a sudden, John's hand ignited with light as a large bolt of electricity ripped forth and straight through the chest of the large shadow, through the wall behind it, and through the wall after that, finally stopping after piercing the large shadow and an entire room. The large shadow looked down to its now gaping torso and gave a faint whine as it fell to its knees and dispersed back to the ground. John's hand was glowing red from the intense heat of the electricity released, and after a couple of seconds, John lowered his arm and turned towards the copy. The copy was now free and had actually gotten within 20 feet of John, but it was limping from it's heavily damaged leg. It was holding both John's knife and its own, but John was not intimidated. Instead, john walked towards the copy, and as soon as the copy swung the knives at John, John quickly caught the copy's arm, and in one quick motion, John swung under the arm, behind the copy, and pushed the arm backwards as hard as he could. The copy screeched as it's shoulder became dislocated, and dropped the knives. Before the knives even touched the ground, John darted past the copy's flank and grabbed both knives, and as the copy tried to hold its uninjured hand out to defend itself, John stabbed down into the copy's forearm with the shadow knife, then stabbed his own knife through the copy's visor, twisting it after the blade made its mark. As soon as that happened, the copy went limp and dispersed back into the ground.

John silently stood there, letting himself recover from the battle. John didn't know why, but the shadows weren't attacking, at least not yet. Perhaps they were gathering more for another assault. In any case, John knew he needed to leave.

"And yet it was going to be the death of you if I didn't help.", Ethan countered.

Just then, Ethan saw a group of soldiers marching towards the crashed ship. Leading the group was a woman that Ethan knew as the head of security, Miranda "The Raging Bull". Ealier this week, Miranda hired him for two contracts, mainly as an information gatherer. It wasn't exactly the kind of stuff Ethan was used to, but he completed them in a timely manner. The best part was that he was paid fairly well, considering the time, cost, and energy required for each contract. As they passed by, Ethan looked at the girl and sighed.

"I'm going to let you go,....", Ethan calmly said to the girl as he gently placed her down.

After gently placing the girl back on her feet, Ethan reached for the two remaining water bottles in his belt and handed them to the girl.

"But Don't make me regret this. Got it?", Ethan asked the girl as he handed her both the water bottles.

When Ethan placed Megumi on her feet she stood up as she took one of the water bottles and poured it on her head, soaking her hair, and clothes with the cool water. She then quickly took the second water bottle and began drinking it as though her life depended on it... which it did. After she was done with that water bottle she tossed it away as she turned to look at the group of soldiers.

This intrigued her a bit, but it was kind of hard to tell due to the deadpan look on her face. She then looked up at the sky and saw the smoke coming from SimO's wrecked ship. She then turned to Ethan and then the pillar of smoke in the sky before walking towards the smoke without saying a thing. It was like she was no completely ignoring her wounds, as well as Ethan's advice.


MEANWHILE

Axton finally climbed down the ladder and took off running towards the wrecked ship, bumping into Ethan on the way there without saying a single word to Ethan.

Ethan looked at the girl as she walked towards the smoke and clasped his visor with his hand. It hadn't even been ten seconds and she was already putting herself into another dangerous situation. She didn't know what was happening. For all they knew, those soldiers could be going to war or something. It was pretty frustrating to see that the girl had such a disregard for her own safety.

(Pretty damn suicidal.), Ethan thought as he removed his hand and followed the girl.

"Is nearly getting yourself killed a hobby?", Ethan asked the girl in a slightly agitated tone as he followed close behind.

Grey sat the two cases down before he addressed to robotic being. "Were you on that when it crashed? Were there others?" He spoke in a level tone that had concern in it but very little.

Megumi kept walking, ignoring Ethan as she continued towards the crash site. As she kept walking she outstretched her arm as a blade of Ceramic Carbide materializes in her hand. This blade is none other than her Black Blade.

She then stared at Ethan as she pointed her blade at him.

"Do not underestimate me. I am just fine, like I said. I've dealt with far worse." She said as she turned back around, continuing to walk towards the Crash Site.

Ethan simply gritted his teeth and let out a faint sigh as he continued to follow the girl and the soldiers. For all Ethan knew, the girl would just get herself killed, almost like she did in the desert. It was frustrating how Ethan was trying to help her out, and she simply tossed herself into more danger. Why did he even care? Was it some kind of moral obligation? Either way, he couldn't help but keep an eye on the girl, just in case she got herself into another situation she couldn't get out of.

"Okay, if you've had worse, then tell me about it. What was worse than you passing out in the desert and being on the brink of death?", Ethan asked the girl.

Megumi stopped as she looked over her shoulder, and at Ethan.

"A war that lasted for days, and was barely won." She said bluntly as she turned back around and continued walking.

However she stopped walking as she stared blankly into empty space.


It was just like it was yesterday. She had taken part in a war that resulted in the loss of thousands of men, even her closest of friends. The images of death, and destruction flashed through her mind as she began remembering every single moment of what happened. She herself was nearly gunned down, stabbed, and left for dead before the war was finally won but not at a great cost. The pain Megumi felt that day was far greater than any pain she had ever felt before. Both physically, and mentally. She only survived due to medics finding her hours later.

She then shook her head as she snapped out of her little trance. Megumi then continued on her way to the Crash Site where the soldiers, Miranda, and even Axton was nearing.

Ethan was a little confused about what exactly this girl had gone through. Last he remembered, children don't go to war. She was a child, right? Maybe she simply looked like a child? It was somewhat rare, but it could be the case.

"How old exactly are you?", Ethan asked in a slightly confused tone as he followed her and the soldiers.

The boy kept closing in. Then, he saw a large abundance of beings in the distance. He zoomed in on them to realize it was an army. He smiled devilishly.

"Perfect. This is exactly what I need. All I need to do is collapse, they'll take me in, and then find myself a nice little mine."

He then fell to the ground.

"Come on, don't keep me waiting," he muttered under his breath.

But, there could be people still alive, though. I do not know, I would have to access the ship's systems, and I would rather not go through the ship without backup."
