    Somewhere in Nevada

Sanford looked over to the blaze as it faded away.

"Yeah, just your average blaze." Sanford said.

    Above Shinki's Palace

Hank waited quietly for whatever this woman had to say, but then suddenly, the roof collapsed beneath him, landing him on the floor next to the table.

    "Ow." Hank said to himself.

Sometimes when you're driving down a road, a bug hits your windshield. It's ugly and unpleasant, but you just activate the wipers / cleaning fluid and it's gone in a few seconds. It's just part of driving down the road. You don't dwell on it, because that'd be silly. Bugs aren't worth the time.

You just discard their guts and keep on driving.

      Shinki's Palace

As soon as the strange man fell through the ceiling, John went into Spartan Time.

In a blinding flash, John put his helmet on, jumped over the table, and landed right next to Hank, pointing his pistol at him.

      "Who are you?"

Someone had crashed through the roof. It was Hank.

        "Hank! You're still alive!"

Komachi noticed him and thought up a clever remark to this situation. "Well, this in an improbable
outcome!" She began laughing to herself again.

I noticed that the majority of the people don't know him, so I tried to make a brief description of him.

"He's not hostile. He's from another world. The 'Somewhere in Nevada' world to be precise, kind of. He's the enemy of Tricky the clown, an evil clown with the power of... well, improbability, such as summoning trains and buildings. His name is Hank J. Wimbleton, and he's an ally."

I guess that description was good enough. Otori could have done it better, I'd bet.

        Nevada, Otori

I couldn't shake the feeling that the flame was too peculiar. I couldn't just shake it off, but I had no other choice. I had to keep my head in the game.

"So, what will be the first course of action?"

"She's somewhat correct, well, for the first part. Also, scythe girl, that was a horrible joke." Hank said.

After hearing Shikieiki, John put his gun away.

"So he's another one of those "Madness" guys?"

"Scythe girl?... Oh yea, we didn't properly introduce ourselves. Well, I'm Shikieiki Yamaxanadu, Yama of Gensokyo. This scythe girl is Komachi Onozuka, my helper. The one with the wings is Shinki. This is her palace... say, how did you get here anyhow? I thought Deimos blew the train up."

                "Madness guys?" Hank asked.

"And I jumped off before it exploded, and followed the odd people through that portal. Oh, and Shinki, I think you may want a stronger roof." Hank replied to Shiki.

"If you are referring to the agents you fought, well, he's from the same world. Oh, and this, Hank, is John. He's saved our lives a couple times. He's a good friend of ours."

"Yea, you know. The video game? You see, we are all characters from different universes. For instance, we are in the... what was it again? Oh, the Touhou universe."

John sat back down and removed his helmet.

"As the name implies, it's a game that you play on a television. It's a virtual world where you play as a particular character, killing enemies and completing tasks."

"Listen, it may be hard to understand, but it's true. Once I was told, I couldn't believe it. But seeing as how I was in a completely different world, I had no other choice than to believe it. I don't quite know what a video game is either, but I noticed something. No matter which world we came from, we all seemed to fall into one world that Otori, a former Neo-Yakuza agent, called Earth. Wherever world we came from, it seems that any alien world to Earth is considered a video game, although I don't know just why they would call it that... Ah, that's right! My apologies, Shinki. You had something to say?"

"My life, a game..." Hank grasped both the the Spartan's shoulders with a force that would make a normal man break.

"I've died 8 times. 8. Times." Hank started. "Do you know how dying feels?" Hank started.

                              "Hank, just please relax!"

I pulled him away from John. "I'm sorry that you had to face that fate, but you're alive now!"

I let go of him. "I, as yama, am to judge where humans and youkai alike go after they die. I send some people to hell, but do you know what I do before that time comes? I help them right themselves. The main reason for people going down the wrong path, I've noticed, is because of their past! They cannot let go of their pasts, therefore all that pent up rage is let out in a heinous act. I help people go down the right path by fixing their pasts, and if I can't do that, then I help them forget it. You may have died many times, and I may not understand how painful that must be for you, but look at yourself! Alive! Isn't it enough that you can be here today? Be thankful. No one has ever been resurrected that many times. Please... just forget your past. Forget your deaths. Look forward to the future. You have a world to protect."
