Sometimes when you're driving down a road, a bug hits your windshield. It's ugly and unpleasant, but you just activate the wipers / cleaning fluid and it's gone in a few seconds. It's just part of driving down the road. You don't dwell on it, because that'd be silly. Bugs aren't worth the time.
You just discard their guts and keep on driving.

"Who else? Besides I have a job to do so I don't really have any choice.", the boy said.
He then surrounded himself in an orb of darkness. When it disappeared, the boy had a battle suit.
John aimed his rifle at the boy.
John was going to shoot the boy, but he just couldn't bring himself to kill a child.
"Listen kid, I don't want to have to shoot you. Stop now, and you can come with us. We'll do everything in our power to keep you safe.", John said.
"Who else? Besides I have a job to do so I don't really have any choice.", the boy said.

(What actually happens is that time slows down to nearly stop. Riku Replica then runs towards John and slashes him.
He's not slowed at all while time is slowed)

John focused his will around the kid. All of a sudden, the child was encased from his neck, down to the ground in darkness.
"Stop now or I'll be forced to kill you!", John shouted at the boy.
