Hell of Blazing Fire - Gensokyo

"Come on, John-sama. Everybody is waiting for us at the Human Village." Daiyousei led the charge, motioning the other two to follow her out of the Hell of Blazing Fire.

I put my hand on John's shoulder.

"... Thank you. Come on, soldier. Everyone's waiting."

      I walked to the village.

Isaac was struggling, trying to keep awake, but as soon as he saw Koishi move and talk, all of his drowsiness disappeared.

(Thank god she's okay. I knew she was going to be alright, but still... I'd better go see if she's alright, and grab my RIG.), Isaac thought as he stood up out of the chair and walked over to the cot.

"Koishi? How are you feeling?", Isaac quietly whispered, being mindful that Koishi was sensitive to sound.

John weakly smiled at Gerard's words. They made him feel a little better, especially after all the deaths he witnessed. John followed suit, not really bothering to put the super Biofoam into his Biofoam compartment. He was too exhausted to do so. He just wanted to go rest.

"I feel like someone ripped my heart out, then put it back in." Koishi said, coughing a little.

Sometimes when you're driving down a road, a bug hits your windshield. It's ugly and unpleasant, but you just activate the wipers / cleaning fluid and it's gone in a few seconds. It's just part of driving down the road. You don't dwell on it, because that'd be silly. Bugs aren't worth the time.

You just discard their guts and keep on driving.

"Well luckily that's not the case. You gave me a little scare, but Satori said that you would be fine.", Isaac quietly said.

"Do you still need my RIG to keep warm?", Isaac asked as he pointed to the lump under the blanket, on top of Koishi's torso.

Komachi rounded up the last of the souls.

"... Well... You did well for your time, miss Yukari, Aya, Meiling..."

              Shiki-sama came.

              "Komachi. You made it."

"Shiki-sama... I'm sorry for not making it..."

"You didn't know. You're lucky to have made it at all."

"... Shiki-sama... People like miss Yukari... Where do they go?"

"... That was always up to the kings... Even I don't know."

"No, I don't think so." Koishi pulled off the blanket, and her eyes widened. Her third eye was open, but there was no pupil, just a milky white.

"My...eye." Koishi said, looking clearly distressed.

                  "Ah, there you are."

Miko appeared from above. She also seemed to have suffered terrible wounds, most notably a rip through her right shin that left her muscles victim of the wind's wrath.

"I was wondering where you ran off to, John. Come quick. We will begin the funeral momentarily."

                  "Hello Koishi."

A figure appeared into the tent.

"As your sister, I can't stress how relieved I am." Satori remarked. "However, now that you have digressed through the nature, I cannot possibly accept you as my family."

"I'm sorry Koishi. Until your third eye is pupiled, I will have to disown you."

                    Komachi flew up to Reimu.

"I've gathered the souls. We're ready."

Isaac looked down at the blind third eye and had a look of surprise.

(Okay, that was unexpected. Koishi must be panicked about it being blind. I've got to find a way to calm Koishi down.), Isaac thought as he turned his gaze to Koishi's face.

"Koishi, i-it's really not that bad. There are ways to fix that.", Isaac said, trying to ease Koishi's distress.

All of a sudden, Satori came in, disowning Koishi. This bewildered Isaac. She was a part of her family. How could she?

Isaac stood up and gave Satori a look of disbelief.

"How could you?", Isaac asked Satori.

"She is your family, your blood sister. Do you even care about her?", Isaac asked Satori.

"This is all for her benefit, human." Satori shot back a look with her third eye. "If I didn't care about her, I would've left her be."

"I want you to open up your heart to others, Koishi." Satori said to Koishi. "Until you can do so, do not expect any residence in Chireiden."

"Good job, Komachi. You're the best." Reimu flatly said. "Now that everyone's here, let's start."

"I don't care." Koishi said in a slightly angry tone to Satori. "You say you care, but I can still hear your subconsious, and now I can hear it far more clearly. You still don't care, and you'll never care. I finally know this now. We may be biologically related, but to me, you're not my family. My family is at the Inventory, they care more about me than you do." Koishi got up, and stood straight in Satori's face. "Goodbye sister, I hope we'll never meet again."

With that sudden burst of emotion, Koishi left the tent and seemingly disappeared.

Isaac stared at the exit of the tent in surprise. Koishi had emotions and because of that, Isaac was just not used to seeing her act like this.

Isaac was angry at himself. Because of him, Koishi knew about her emotions, which ultimately led to her losing her home. He felt responsible for everything that happened. She saved his life on multiple occasions, and this was what he gave her.

(Damn it, Isaac. Look what you've done...), Isaac thought to himself.
