I think John might be able to figure it out.

The pumpkin is actually very similar to his armor. It can't be destroyed with blunt attacks. Cutting is one option, but a better one would be to pierce it.

John would probably pull out his Barret .950 JDJ Sniper Rifle and fire a .950 caliber, armor piercing, high explosive round at it.

It's either that, or he lasers the pumpkin until it burns a hole.

If Link joins the RP, it would be acceptable to have him talk. In fact, the whole shouting thing is just an LoZ meme. He can actually talk, it's just that nobody gave him dialogue.

I want to make a joke about Cucoos and the fact that Cucoo is named Cucoo, also about how those chickens can not die, no matter what you do to them.

All I can say is that Cucoo is damn near indestructible.

If only there were a Zelda game where you can somehow make Ganon hit a Cucoo and unleash hell on him.

There's one where you distract him with a fishing rod.

TV Tropes actually made a good point about the rod.

Ganon never grew up around water and fishing, so perhaps he thought the fishing rod was some kind of weapon. That's why he hesitated around it.
