So i've been playing Terraria lately, and I've come up with the perfect thing to add to the Auditor's halloween party, at least at the end of it.
Sometimes when you're driving down a road, a bug hits your windshield. It's ugly and unpleasant, but you just activate the wipers / cleaning fluid and it's gone in a few seconds. It's just part of driving down the road. You don't dwell on it, because that'd be silly. Bugs aren't worth the time.
@Wriggle & S121
Well, It's not exactly a boss, it's more of a clusterfuck, known simply as the Pumpkin Moon.

Yeah, wave based sort of deal. Lots and lots of halloween themed monsters, the lowest ones having 1000 health. (To put into perspective, the highest damage dealing weapon per hit does around 132)

Well, it depends on what you're talking about. There are many kinds of weapons, usually seperated into the categories of melee, thrown, projectile, and magic.
For melee, the best would have to be either the Terra Blade or The Horseman's Blade.
The Terra Blade does 132 damage a swing, and fires a projectile sword whcih does another 80 damage.
The Horseman's Blade only does around 70 a hit, but summons pumpkins to attack your enemy each swing and per enemy hit, so if you are hitting a lot of enemies or one with segments, your DPS can be INSANE.
For Thrown, it would have to be the Possessed Hatchet, the Paladin's Hammer, or the Vampire Knives.
Possessed Hatchet is pretty good, as it goes to your enemy really fast, has homing abilities, and does around 120 damage per hit.
Paladin's Hammer is the same without the homing, but it pierces through enemies, so enemies with multiple segments die VERY fast.
Vampire Knives are a bit less damaging, but fire a lot of projectiles that heal you for about 7% of damage done per hit, and due to it firing like a machine gun, heals you a LOT, and is actually considered to be a little overpowered due to this.
The best projectile weapons would have to be the Sniper Rifle, the S.D.M.G, and the Tactical Shotgun
Sniper Rifle is exactly what it is. Des huge damage, including very high crit damage, but is a bit slow to fire.
S.D.M.G is a Minigun on steroids, doing huge amounts of damage per hit, and can take down the early bossses in the game in seconds. But, the weapon hasn't officially been released, but you can get it through the game files.
Tactical Shotgun is a highly damaging, full auto shotgun. What more must I say?
Then there's the magic weapons, which are my favorite. The best ones would be considered The Magnet Sphere, The Golden Shower, The Nimbus Rod, and the Bat Scepter.
THe Magnet Sphere summons a slow moving ball that rapidly attacks nearby enemies for lots of DPS.
The Golden Shower summons a, you guessed it, golden shower of ichor that applies a damage debuff to enemies hit. (Meaning you do more damage to them)
The Nimbus Rod summons two clouds overhead that deal lots of DPS to anything below them.
The Bat Scepter summons hordes of homing bats to attack your enemies that does a large amount of both damage and DPS.

They're all tough, and the later bits of it are EXTREMELY difficult. You can have up to 7 of the final boss of the event on you at any given time.
